When to see the Christmas lights, the view was beautiful, very great price for the family to enjoy a great winter wonderland of lights. Train ride, horse carriage rides, and a Santa photo booth. If you have the time it is a mist to take the family to see.

This is our second year visiting Sportsmans Lake for the Christmas light display. The kids had a great time and so did the parents.

A great place to go and enjoy time with family and friends..... They offer so many things.... Rent a pavilion for gatherings, camping, paddle boats, put put golf, fishing, walking/biking trail, huge playground, splash waterpark, train ride and so much more. On sight refreshment shop. I love going!

Great park. I attended a car show here. The trees and shade was great. My son lived the playground and splash pad.

My 4 year old loves it. My teens not so much. Always clean.

Love that park my son enjoy it and the best part we arrive just in time to see a car show of old school oldie muscle cars. The train ride was cool around the park my son enjoy every moment of it. We hope to come back again soon.god bless the crew and keep looking its best the park

This park has become more beautiful as the years go by. So many improvements. I remember swimming in that lake 63 years ago.

Sportsman Lake Park is and always has been, a beautiful little spot in Cullman to walk, camp, have a picnic, or enjoy some fishing. It’s free to enter and fishing permits are only $2. There is ample parking and a large children’s play park and splash pad. You can feed the ducks, geese, and fish - they have quarter operated feeders. There’s a little train that goes around the lake, a paved path, and restroom/bathhouses along the way. It’s a place I have fond memories of coming with my folks and fishing with my dad.

Such a great place to go for Family fun. They have a small train, putt putt golf, a playground, camping area for RVs and Tents. You can rent Bikes and Paddle Boats. There is also Ducks and Geese around the Lake. There is so much you can do, something for everyone.

Good way to burn energy for kids. Ours rode the train, played in the splash pad, and played on all the equipment at the playground. We ate lunch there and kids loved their hotdogs, chips and drink for 4 bucks each. Nice clean lake and a small campground but there were a couple of class A, and on huge 5th wheel toy hauler.

Every clean and very quiet place and nice place to walk and bring dogs to play

My wife and I love to go to Sportsman Lake and have a picnic lunch. We like to do this one or two times a month. It is a very pleasant place to go and have lunch.

Great place to bring the family and dogs. Nice fenced in dog park for the dogs to run around off their leashes. Nice walking trail all the way around the lake. Good fishing. Last visit caught about a 50lb carp.

Great park with a nice memorial to local troops killed in action. Feed the ducks, geese, turtles and fish.

I love this park. Great place to picnic with a beautiful paved walking trail. Many other activities and a concession stand.

Went to a car show with my husband. A few things were closed, but very nice park, lots of things to do, but dont recommend for camping. Very close together, no seperation. Great for day trips!

There is no shade for parents and babies to be in . The splash pad in hartselle is WAY better.

I just happened to be in Cullman for a few hours. I was waiting on a friend who had a doctors appointment. This is a really nice park. I wouldve like to have spent the whole day here. Nice Lil Jem they were bidding there in Cullman.

The only thing we could do with my grandson was walk around. Play ground was closed

Christmas Lights. Right around Christmas they have hundreds of figurines and scenes throughout the camping are for you to drive through and enjoy. They offer horse drawn carriages and miniature train rides as well. They even have Santa. Not too expensive, but if You do everything, you will be there for a while and spend some money.

Feed fish? Check! Feed ducks? Check! Walking trail? Check! Mini train that goes around the park? Check! Concession stand? Check! What more could you want?

Great place to take the kids of all ages

I got to take Liv and Bubba to the park last Sunday and spend all day with them at the park spending time together with the kiddos that was well needed for me and the kiddos

First time going to this park. Never knew it about it. We had a blast. The walking track and playground for kids was worth the drive from blount county. I can only imagine how fun it would be during the summer.

Its a very cool place when its all open. Loved feeding the geese, ducks, turtles and fish.

Nice place. Free to the public. The things that do cost are cheap.

My husband and myself went there after church today. It was closed due to Christmas lights being up. We did stop at the old armory and eat our lunch. It usually is a very good place to go.Cant wait till we go again. Thanks!

Great park.. Love it. splash pad. Mini golf. Huge playground. Great Memorial to Veterans. Camping primitive and fancy. Tons of Pavilions And amenities. Fishing. Boat rental. Train rides. Are all reasonably priced. Combo package on rides i believe. Concessions and food is ice cream. Hotdogs hamburgers ect. All reasonable. Something for every type of sportsman. My only complaint was with visitors. As secure as this park is their are cameras everywhere. A set of Parents were letting their children hurl rocks towards wildlife trying to hatch goslings. Then he started playing with the switch to the childrens train tracks. They let him hurl rocks at the building for a while putting dents in it.. Maybe a little better physical security??

We love coming here. There is a lot to do! Lots of free fun, and other things u can pay for like train ride and boat rentals, bouncy house is fun for little kids! The prices are reasonable and staff is very friendly! U can have a great time with the whole family for little to no money. U definitely need to go of u havent been or are visiting. The camping here is also great! Very nice facilities

This place is great for families. You can spend a few minutes, or an entire day. Close to restaurants, or bring your own food.Nature trails, biking, playgrounds, fishing, pavilions, restrooms, ice cream, train rides, monuments, and on and on....A great hidden gem in Cullman.

A very peaceful park but also fun for the kiddos.

Fantastic little park, lake, kayaks, fishing , snacks and restrooms. We took our family down for the yearly Christmas lights they had a carriage ride and train rides too. Nice escape in the middle of town.

We went through the park in December while the Christmas lights were up they are spectacular. The traffic was heavy but very efficient. You drive through the park looking at lights from your car they have bathrooms you can stop and use they also have a train to ride a sliegh ride and horse and carriage they have hot chocolate to buy and you can take pictures with Santa. Its $10 a car to enter the park to view the lights the other activities are additional $$.

This is a great family place to go. Kids will love it, between the playground, water area for younger kids, the train and the basketball court. Theres plenty of picknic Ares with a gazebo and camping cites. The lake you can fish in and theres plenty of ducks, geese to feed. Its really a very peaceful place to go and spend time with the family. Theres even walking/jogging trailers.

The winter wonderland Christmas lights were beautiful. There is a great walking trail around the lake, miniature golf, and more. Great place to unwind.

Well it was a good place to visit and if you like Christmas lights now would be a good time to go. Its lit up with all kinds of lights and was rather interesting 5:00pm till 9:00.

Amazing, it’s a place you can ride you bike, skateboard, or scooter or you can walk while having an amazing view on the lake, you can feed the fish and feed turtles, great 5 out of 5 stars, if anything it’s 6 out of 5 stars!!!!

Peaceful and seems to be no riffraff going on, feel safe there at the lake!

If you are going to have a Christmas display and then have a few (very few) things extra to do; you might want to have better parking. I had to go through twice before I could find a place to park.

It was very nice, we took our grandson to see the Christmas lights and ride the train around the lake to see all the lights. I highly recommend it, just wear something warm.

I litterly have been going to that park since i was a kid. Trains, trails, camping which isnt really camping but more like an innercity refuge. Candy, drinks, snacks and hot foods. Small water play area. Mini golf bring ur own putters and balls . hasnt been open anytime ive been there in a while. But your free to play . come prepared.. Nice chill nature walk. Big pond with ducks, paddle boats, and dont think you can fish or swim anymore. Wouldnt swim in it anyways..

Scenic, fun for the kids, love going there

This is a great location for family and friends to hold parties or celebrations (birthdays, reunions, BBQs, whatever) where they may need a lot of space. The pavilions offered are large and open with picnic tables. There is plenty to do while here, so you never hear Im bored from your children. My video game addicted teen even had a good time in the outdoors for the day.I live in Bham, so it was about a 45 minute drive to get here, but it was easy to find and right off the interstate. We had rented a pavilion for the day and everyone had a wonderful time, especially the kids. There is so many activities offered from paddle boats to mini golf and a pretty large playground. There is even a little train that goes around the lake and the kids loved feeding the ducks (the big kids did too!). I really was not expecting so much to do and would definitely recommend to others as a location to keep in mind for family get togethers.Im glad to hear they have upgraded/updated some things, as well as now offering an area for RVs.It is a reasonable rental fee to get as pavillion for the day and I do recommend doing so if you are planning to have a party or something similar. We were given passes for the train and a few other extras included with the rental.Very happy with everything and will definitely return.

We went for the Christmas lights and they did not disappoint. We really loved the choo choo train ride through the park. The hot cocoa was just okay. The lights were beautiful. Worth the drive from Huntsville!

Very awesome fair experience

This park is a great place to take the kids. Ours enjoyed the splash pad and the huge playground area. They still want to go back. They also loved getting to take the train around the lake. They thought they were riding Thomas the train we will definitely be back!

It is a very nice park. Lots of trees, ducks and geese, good fishing, there is a playground and splash pad, you can get a fishing license, and bait at the office, you can also get fish/duck food there, there is a walking /bike path around the lake, there are many pavilions for gatherings and cook outs, a second play area with swings and Teeter totters, and even a camping area with utilities, they also have a train you can ride around the lake, and paddle boats for rent, there is even an outdoor stage for use, and one of my favorite parts, there is a nature trail that is great for photo shoots

Went on a hot day to play mini golf. The course is kinda small, but good enough for a quick game. There isnt much shade on the mini golf course. As a matter of fact there isnt much shade at all over the whole park, so be prepared with plenty of sunscreen. It wasnt clear, but you need to go the concession and ticket shack to purchase a ball to play. There are some concessions such as ice cream and drinks there also.

This place is mine and my kids favorite place to go for our family time and to have fun.

My husband, kids and I have been going to the park for a week to walk the path around the lake. On our way to a healthier us. A good place to spend with your family. My only complaint is it would be nice if the park officials could do something about all the poop on the walking trail.

For $10 a carload, the Christmas lights display here is a bargain. Very well done, plus you can tune your radio to their Christmas music station and listen as you drive through.

We visited for the Christmas lights. Very nice place. The lights were so beautiful and at $10 a car load you really cant beat it! Great time for the whole family. They have hot chocolate, cut outs for photos, walk or drive through the park, a sleigh ride, a train & even a carriage ride. It was so much fun!

Great place to exercise or just enjoy the view of nature. Also offers camping and other ameninities.

Good place for family gatherings, they have a splash pad, a train ride around the lake that you can fish in, playground, basketball, and plenty of pavilions for gathering. Geese and ducks all around the lake that you can hand feed. All in all a really fun and family friendly place especially for the kids.

This park has everything... Im not sure about the putt putt though. But had walking trail, soft shady running hiking trail, lake, pedal boats, playgrounds, campground, shelters, clean restrooms. Plenty of parking. Water park. Very enjoyable experience.

HAD THE MOST AMAZING TIME. FROM THE TRAIN RIDE TO THE HOT CHOCOLATE AND THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CHRISTMAS LIGHTS YOU COULD POSSIBLY EVER HOPE TO SEE. WELL WORTH THE 10 DOLLAR CASH ADMISSION.

Need to have better tile in bathrooms, very dangerous! You cant even walk when youre wet from showering. No seat in the handicap shower. Due to the tiles so slippery, I had no where to sit and had to hold on the the bar the entire time I showered. Also you could do a better job with the RV spots, not level at all. And your on top of one another, due to how the electric is placed. The things to do for children is great.

Has a clean dog park with shade! Even though ir is not that big there are walking paths around the creek and pond that are easily accessible and free. Only downside, no drinking water spout but the creek seems adequate and have a clean bathroom which I have unfortunately found is rare at parks in general.Soft serve ice cream cones for a hot day are served at the office along with some other snacks. We have visited many dog parks all over the US and this is one of the top five! So glad we found it!

Awesome place with lots to do! However there are way to many geese and trying to fish off the bank and not step in goose poop is challenging. Plus lots of people just come in and sit in parked cars in the camping areas during random hours of the night.

Such an amazing time to enjoy either with the kids, by yourself, or your significant other. Its very inexpensive as well. Which makes for an awesome place to visit and enjoy.

My kids and I enjoyed our visit here! We fed the ducks, rented paddle boats, rode the train & played on their playground! The park is clean, well staffed (very friendly), and pricing is confusing but good for the money.
