Unfortunately there isn’t an option for 0 stars. Honestly was excited to play here when I first saw the clubhouse but it went downhill quickly from here. First would like to start with the maintenance. I have worked maintenance at a golf course for the previous 5 summers and I can tell you everything from the fairways, rough, greens, and tees haven’t been cut for at least 5 days. The par three tee boxes had almost no grass on them so it was basically like hitting out of a bunker on your tee shot. The bunkers had weeds all over them and hadn’t been raked. Next, the staff was great except for two specific individuals that ruined it for the whole staff. First, one of the marshals (the younger one with dark brown hair, not one of the older ones) constantly decided that it was a good idea to drive past us while we were in the middle of taking our tee shots and one of the times he was talking unnecessarily loud on the phone. Pretty sure marshals are supposed to make sure everyone is following the rules. Next, after the round we brought our carts up to the cart return and threw out all of our trash. We were greeted by this little kid (Dark brown hair but younger than the marshal I was taking about) was in such a hurry to get home that he thought it was a good idea to start washing the carts as I was standing next to them checking if everything was in my bag and sprayed a bunch of water on me. I had a few choice words for that one so hopefully he heard them. I honestly can’t believe people pay money to be members here.

Course was great- well maintained and difficult.

Course: Awful condition. Fairways are a mix of crabgrass and mud. Green collars were muddy and overgrown. Greens themselves were like putting on broccoli.Management: Nice clubhouse. Management packs golfers on in 5-10min increments so pace of play is terrible and impossible to play through. A round will take approx 5hr30min to 6hrs.Furthermore, golf cart was not filled with gas so i was forced to abandon it on hole 15. A truly pathetic experience.

Nice course, friendly staff. Some of the houses are very close to the fairways and greens. Well groomed and good price.

This is the worst golf course I have every played. It it truly a COW PASTURE. They should be ashamed to charge what they do. We would be lucky to find 18 blades of GRASS on the 18 holes of this COW PASTURE. SAVE YOUR $$$$ unless they want to pay you to play it.

A busy Saturday on the green but a beautiful golf course and lots of wildlife. PS the hot dogs are amazing!

Yesterday was my first time golfing at Walden CC. Course was in good shape and busy. Staff was very nice and helpful. However my only problem was that the fairways are narrow and extremely challenging for inexperienced golfers. Ill be back when I get a few more rounds in....

Terrible Fairways, mostly mud and crab grass. The course layout isnt bad but not the best. Pricing is horrible for the condition of the course. Bowie is a better course and for normally 24 bucks during twilight hours for 18. This place charges 35 and cuts you off at 6:30. Only reason why it gets a 2 stars is because of the greens.

Great layoutbut and very tight fairways. You dont really dont need driver off the tee box on many holes but if you hit long it can give you the advantage.

Not well kept. Fairways were really long and you could lose your ball in the fairway because the grass was so long. Dont bother looking for your ball in the rough. The greens were nice, but its really frustrating paying $50 to lose balls when youre hitting them in the fairway super short course you only need a driver on four holes

Had an enjoyable day on a course that offers some challenges. Greens were well cared for and fairways only had a few bare areas. For the money, its tough to beat.

I just played this course and its not THAT BAD....the greens were perfect, and rolled very good. The course is challenging, and you have to keep the ball straight. The fairways are an absolute disaster...that was my real issue with my round this morning. Some are better than others, but for the most part there wasnt a ton of grass in the fairways. I paid $43 on GolfNow for this.....This course is maybe worth $30....but at the end of the day it was a gorgeous day and I played at 11:30 on a Saturday....most courses are charging double for green fees. To summarize: This place isnt near as bad as some of the reviews Ive seen...personally, I would take nice greens over fairways 10/10 times....

Very busy. Waiting time on the tee box was very long. Management was not prepared for large number golfers and unexpected very nice weather conditions.

Golf course with very poor maintenance and staff with even worse attitudes.

Putting surfaces were smooth. Smooth greens make up for where this course lack in other areas. Lay out of the course is not great. You can tell this place has to prioritize its budget. Certain areas like the bunkers and rough were not well maintained. Cart paths are a little wonky. Probably need a course Marshall as well. But for $37 to ride 18 on a weekend it’s a good value. Don’t expect to use your driver if you hit the ball with any sort of distance.

The overall course is in good shape. The fairways have come around greatly since the 2018 season and the greens are smoother as well. Well maintained. Only negative is the bunkers. Some poor trimming around them as well as actually being in the bunkers. Poor sand quality and the sand is hard.

Course is in decent shape.. greens are in excellent condition and some of the rough is not so great... overall great course for green fee.

Went out on oct 14th, course was in slightly below average. Greens were in decent shape but fairways and ruff were terrible. Its hard to describe but the fairways were not typical grass that you would see.My backyard was of the same quality. A lot of reseeding needs to be done on the entire course.Used driver twice. Course is very tight so staying in the wanna be fairway is a premium. Plus there are 10-12 force caries over swamp or forest gullies and ton of blind shots.Will not be listed as one of my favorites but would come back if rate is decent.

This course is relatively short and has some interesting holes, but really needs some TLC. Staff is nice though.

Course was nice, had trouble with crab grass in the past, but course was in much better shape. Played terrible, but the weather and company made up for it. It was a good day.

Tough course! But the course is in great shape, and it’s enjoyable.

Played the course on March 9, 2016. The course is in fairly good shape and the greens are in really good shape considering the weather over the past few weeks. The setup is not terribly tight but there are a few blind tee shots would be much easier the second time you play the course. In an effort to get new grass growth, some of the par 3 tees boxes are mostly a sand/grass mixture, not overly done like a lot of public courses in Maryland. There is a good mixture of target golf, bomb the driver, and risk/reward holes on the course. All in all I was pleasantly surprised with the course and is definitely a course that I will be playing again!

Too tricked up to ever be a good golf course. Had to go elsewhere for food because of extremely slow service.

I love this course. Play it once and youll be hooked!Pros- Reasonably priced- The greens are true and fast (as good or better than many expensive courses in the area)- Fairways and tee boxes (excluding par 3s) are is good shape- Set up will keep you on your toes (lots of doglegs, elevation change, water features, and fairway bunkers)- Plays hard for its length (Many tee shots are tight, I only hit my driver on 2 or 3 holes)Cons- Houses are uncomfortably close to the fairway on several holes- Lots of people from the community walk/bike ride on the cart path during nice days in the weekend- Can be noisier than most courses (lawnmowers, dogs, people talking, cars)- The rough is inconstant in places- On busy days expect a back up at 1 and 10 (Ive never seen a starter)

Food is great, course is average in condition and layout however customer service is solid. Its a shame the back nine could be better more like the front nine. Architect has a big footprint in Anne Arundel County golf courses. Maybe that is why Bay Hills and Eisenhower have similar features.

Attended a tee time Sunday August 27th that was booked through the golf now app and something didnt connect or transfer and our four person somehow showed at Walden as a two person. Understandable things happen but I have never dealt with a more rude or (insert choice word here) of a person than who was at the pro shop desk for check-in. All four of us got to golf but between the attitude the employee had and his rude remarks, I dont plan to ever return to this course. Management should really analyze their employees people skills a little better . Also the course needs a lot of maintenance.

I come here for networking events, the food is always great and the staff is courteous and friendly. Beautiful grounds and they have a nice deck area to eat and hang out on when the weather cooperates

We play the course regularly. Course is in good shape, considering the region. Pam is excellent ! Food is excellent. Alice does a wonderful job. Bartenders are very good.

We enjoyed it, had a good time. No complaints, beautiful day for golf, and there were some good laughs along the way. Definetly would come back.

I am giving just 2 stars today on this visit because my group of club members checked in to play 18 & was told that we would only be able to play the back because the front nine were being aerated. We were told we would have to play the back 9 twice for $30. I suggested $25 but was told no, it was $30. We left & played Bowie for $20, all 18 holes.

Wedding and Reception at this location.Grass was not cut, power outlets did not work where tent was erected.Green Room area for bridal party to stage before walking down isle was not private as promised. A table of golfers were hanging out there.Staff was not helpful and would not cut and serve cake as promised.Tables and chairs on patio were dirty and not organized. They were littered with dirty ashtrays.Pocket doors that separate the reception area from the bar area were misaligned and looked unsightly in the pictures.Inspect carefully before using this facility for your event.

Really nice enjoyable and pretty straightforward course. Lots of good drives but course too slow today. Had to skip 2 holes to bypass bottleneck

For the ones posting bad reviews perhaps they expect Congressional conditions at a semi private club that costs under 50 bucks. For the money this is one of the best courses around. The food is awesome, never had any issues with any of the staff either! Even the cart boys are helpful. The condition of the course improves each time I play it. Im guessing the same people that complain about the course conditions are the same ones that do not fill in divots or repair ball marks. Overall it is a tight course and has many challenging holes which makes it fun to play. For under 25 bucks during the afternoon there is not a better course to play period!

Course was poorly maintained, multiple dead patches on fairways, sand bunkers were lakes, tee boxes looked like driving range boxes. Other reviews claim it is best you can get for under 50 but I can play on an equally maintained course for easily 25 30 dollars, not 45. Sad because course layout is beautiful

Walden is a great value for the price. I have played this course 3 times in the past 2 years and I can honestly say this is the best I have seen the conditions. The fairways were in good shape and the rough was better than expected. Other than some expected bad spots on the greens and unplayable bunkers the course is worth a $30 round on a Saturday afternoon. The good news is the lower parking lot is full of new sand anxiously waiting to repair the bunkers. My main issue has to do with the unfriendly staff. The young lady working the register was very friendly and talkative. However the management level employees were very rude and disrespectful. In a day and age where customer service is a priority and can make or break your clientele. A simple return hello, yes it is a great day for golf and have a great round will go a long way with the Google star rating system. First impressions can ruin your entire experience.

This course is terrible. Had a 7:00 am tee time and the proshop didnt open til 6:55. By the time we got to the first hole three groups had already teed off. Tees off 20 minutes late because we had to wait. Half of the tee boxes were mostly sand and crab grass, some were even missing tee markers. Fairways? You were better off in the first cut. If you do find the fairway expect to find mud and weeds. The greens had multiple divots. Honestly, stay away from this golf course unless youre desperate.

This course is ok. The trees are overgrown into the fairway, so you have to hit every tee shot long and straight. A little variety in play wouldve been nice. The course had definitely gotten better in the last few years.

Went there for my wifes 30th high school reunion. It has a decent sized bar but its upstairs which could be dangerous. Theres an elevator for handicapped access. The kitchen is capable for most any kind of hot or cold food service and the venue, on the whole, could support and 50 people but it would feel crowded.

Dropped off our child for pool party.

I would not recommend playing this course. Better options for similar price: Glenn Dale CC, Bay Hills, Oak Creek, Lake Presidential.I used to play walden on a regular basis until I had to deal with a staff member named Tom. Have never dealt with anyone as unprofessional. Ill never spend another dollar at that place.

Course is in better shape. New management has done a lot of improvement this year. All golf includes lunch and 2 drinks. Great course and great value.

Staff is polite.. but the course is rough.. greens were aerated about a week ago and the rough is thick and is overgrown and the tee box is a sand pit.... not worth $30 plus under the conditions.. And keep your driver in the bag....85% OF THE TIME!!

Watch out for the crew at the bar. I slid their tip in the jar they have on the bar as they prepared my drink only to find they added 18% gratuity to my credit card. Food was subpar.

Played Walden Country Club today 8/21/16 and the course is in really, really poor condition...the weeds are everywhere, the grass is absent on many parts of many tee boxes, large patches of bare spots throughout the course and the first cut is not even cut. The greens go from bad to worse....There was only one water container on the course during this heat and did not see a cart person or player assistant for 18 holes. Walden has a long way to go...and they still charged $50.00. Not worth the playing time.
