I walked an jor from where I was staying to see this. Although it showed on Google theyd be open, they were not. After walking around the house, I was approached by somebody who informed me they had personnel issues that day and had to close. The 3 people who were there were busy with maintenance tasks, but 1 took the time to own up the house and give me and another gentleman the tour. It was $8. The house is a remarkable example of 18th century construction. The furniture, not all original to the house, were all classic colonial pieces. Overall, a remarkable place. I only knew it was there because of a sign on the highway. It was a great way to spend my time.

An important general in the revolution whose fame is bigger in the south (where he fought) than here in his home town.

Its a great historical gem hidden on back roads that Im sure were former horse trails. The volunteers here are very enthusiastic and informative and you can get close to a private tour. The General was instrumental in the birth of our independence.

Our entire family (it was a reunion) visited the home. The guide was enthusiastic about the homestead. The Museum allowed us to have a picnic on grounds, and even helped to set up the chairs and tables, under a tent. The setting was very pleasant, and all enjoyed the tour.

Very historical spot. If youre an American history lover, then you should come check this place out. They give tours and explain the life and time of Nathanael Greene. They also do reenactments, which are pretty interesting as well.

My kids recently came home from school and told us they had a visit from Nathaniel Greene and he told them about himself. They were fascinated he was from Coventry. We called and the caretaker was so accommodating and a offered to allow us to visit on a day it is not open. She was awesome! We spent a hour and she answered so many questions that the kids had. What a great opportunity to experience some local history. It should be said, Ive lived in Coventry for 20+ years. It took my 9 and 6 year old daughters wanting to learn to encourage me to visit this historical gem. I encourage you to take an hour, you wont regret it!!!
