Its more than just oil history and an oil derrick; but also including the workshop of H.C. Nicols whom worked as an acetylene torch welder for the oil field from 1912 and appears to have been sitting on this site. The large yellow machinery is called a Cooper double drum pulling unit. and the cannon probably has nothing to do with oil, though is a nice addition, including a wooden jail cell.

Accessible 24/7. No bathroom, garbage can or water. A couple very concise signs.

Park more like cool area to look at from diving past but you might get bitten if you actually treat it like a park

Not too much to see. A few memorials stating the history of Corsicana as the first player in economic oil exploration. Housed a few oil field service equipment. I did enjoy reading about the use of the canons on oil wells. There is a jail setup from the oil fields. A good way to spend about 20 minutes of your day.

My two young boys really enjoyed getting up close and personal with these pieces of history! We did find fire ants though, so be careful.
