Great place to start a visit to Albequerque. This is a museum-like collection of authentic artifacts, buildings, and period rooms that take the visitor through a timeline of early Spanish and American settlement in the region. The tour is about 45minutes, given twice a day. You can also visit on a festival day to see some of the craft demonstrations (weaving, blacksmithing, etc)

We went to Corrales and found this museum by accident. We are so glad we did. We met a fine young man (Eathen) in the parking lot and he invited us into the building even though there was a busload of youngsters there on a field trip. The place was fantastic, all the furniture and cabins were beautiful and authentic. We enjoyed the day spent there very much. Thank you.

Im sure this place is great, wasnt able to visit because the museum is not open the months of December and January! Since this isnt reflected in the hours on Google, thought Id put it here in a review. Hopefully someday I make it back to Albuquerque.

This was an unexpected wonderful surprise. We found the link to this place through the Albuquerque museum website and decided to give it a try. Its an authentic old house turned into a museum and Its so well kept and beautiful and interesting. So far one of the best places weve visited. The people there were wonderful and they even gave us a private tour. A very competent and kind lady shoved us the place and explained everything about new mexico and the house and she really made feel a part if that period. I cannot recommend it enough. Definitely worth the while for a ridiculously cheap price. Wonderful.

This is a very quaint little museum that displays a number of artifacts from early Mexican American culture. The Casa was built in the 1970s and is a replica of a ranch house from over a hundred years ago from traditional adobe. Its a very interesting place to visit.

Casa San Ysidro is Albuquerque Museums little Jewel located in the Village of Corrales, New Mexico.Built on land originally owned by the Gutierrez family as a land grant, the home was built around 1868 and was lived by descendants of the original family until it was purchased in the 1950s by a University of New Mexico professor who spent decades expanding it and filling it with artifacts obtained from areas throughout New Mexico. The Docent led tour is about $6 and is a bargain at twice the price. This is a little Museum that can be toured more than once as each docent may put their own spin on it. The Museum also sponsors two festivals a year, a Heritage Day in May and a Harvest Festival in late September or early October. The Festivals feature many artisans, musicians and storytellers as well as Churro sheep and donkeys loaded with packs, blacksmiths, wool spinning and weaving and more. Go to the Albuquerque Museum website to see other activities such as second Saturday.

Dont let the exterior size fool you. The Casa is expansive once you get through the door. The docent was very knowledgeable about the history of the structure, the benefactor abd the collected artifacts housed in the Casa. The tour is $6 and worth it. Workshops and programs are held regularly about life in the 19th century in New Mexico, particularly Corales. A nice collection of religious folk art throughout the Casa.
