Trails are groomed and well marked. Hiking in the shade is great
Great quiet hike with great views. Very muddy in the spring
Tucked away from it all...easy hike
Beautiful walking trails with a variety of wildlife- lots of cool slugs, mushrooms, and salamanders (particularly on the top of the white trail). Also found an awesome Io Moth caterpillar on the blue trail. Interesting birds calling all around- woodpeckers included. The white trail has the most mosquitos as it goes higher up into the wood.
Stopped with a friend because we saw it on a drive to the college. Its a good hike with a friend
Easy parking. Easy trails. Easy location. As can be expected, a few sections can be muddy at certain times of the year. More for communing with nature than for stunning vistas.
This was our first visit up there and we were very impressed. If you want a place to go for peace and quiet, The Houghton Land Preserve is the place to goWe will be making many more visits up there for sure!!! Cant wait to see what it looks like this Fall with the changing leaves!!!!!
If you are looking for a nice not to challenging walk for the family..this is a great spot. My kids enjoyed all the little red newts along the path. If you are into geocaching there is a couple there. Nice place
Nice small park with easy walking trails, good place to go with small children or an old trail dog.
Nice little trails to take the family or get used to your equipment for a big hike. Beautiful view from the field.
Good for nature walks.
