Loved this place. Nothing but trees, historic monuments, and a walking trail. Perfect for a quiet time.
Very neat experience. Outdoor, but fairly short, so its doable in the summer time.
Great place to walk.
An excellent historical site. The park is small. It is never crowded. There is a small amount of parking. It is well marked. The statues are descriptive of life in the camp. Visit the Civil War Interpretive Center first in order to gain a better appreciation of the camp. Couple this with a visit to the Afro-American History Museum.
The Contraband Camp offers a brief look at the history of acquired former slaves lives after the Union Army seized Corinth. Unfortunately there are no log cabins resembling the ones the 6,000 newly freed men and women lived in, but the clearing and walking path allow for reflection. Bronze statues stand as memorials to those active during this brief period.
Such a cool experience to visit.
