They are blocking out every other row, so I felt pretty safe at the weekday 4:00 show with kids. Would not go later or on weekends because they are only paying lip service to mask requirements.

The floors needed vacuuming and a smaller theater has weird ergonomics. At least there wasn’t to much sound bleed from adjacent screening room. I like that you can buy a soda from a vending machine outside the cinema and take into the theater.

Marcus Theater in Coral Ridge Mall just recently opened and having not been to an in-person movie in months I was very excited to see the movie Tenet. Although upon arrival there was no one at the ticket booth checking tickets. There were patrons simply walking right through the doors straight to the theater rooms. When I went to the concession stand to show my ticket the lady behind the counter simply shrugged there shoulders, waved her hand in a shopping away motion and said, “I believe you”. Then when we were inside of the theater the “two seat gap between each customer” was not enforced and patrons were seating themselves where they liked with no social distance or mask guidelines enforced. The updated sanitary restroom policy was not being followed either. I used to love this theater but I am very disappointed in the lack of regard during a pandemic. It’s frustrating when the policy’s posted on the website are merely a show to be able to repopen the theater. Please do better.

I was pleased with jumbo beverage and popcorn with free refills. Had good reserved seats. Missing the last star due to line waiting in MENS restroom and prices for reserved seats and aforementioned refreshments over 25 dollars per person and NOT even a 3 D movie. Awesome otherwise.

I’ve been going to this theatre for as long as I can remember and have never had any issues. The staff has always been very pleasant.The seats in the theater are comfortable and have a little bit of a rock to them.They have many deals on movies that can make your trip to the cinema considerably cheaper. You can look out for those online.

It may not be the most up to date theater but the people are friendly and the service is great. I had an issue with online ticket ordering and Justin along with the manager were able to promptly fix the issue. Thanks!

Close to where I live. Great place to watch the latest movies. I especially love $5 Tuesdays where my wife and I can enjoy a movie for 5 bucks each and as a Magical Movie Rewards member, we get free popcorn, too!

They need to keep there times on there website updated better plus wouldnt hurt if theyd lower there prices

This place is ready for a remodel. Ive gone here for years and its the best in the Iowa City area. But lately it has been dirty, non operational sinks and toilets (just some, not all). The self serve soda area is getting nasty. The ice is often out and the lid dispensers are broken and very dirty. Im assuming this location is slated for a remodel and they are just letting it go for now. I go to cedar rapids when I can and go here only when plans shift that way. This location is far from the norm for Marcus Cinema.

This place was not clean at all. The service was not great and everyone did not look professional at all. Theatre seating not bad and once again not clean.

It always seems a bit dirty. I dont like assigned seats. Good specials but they dont usually have films that are a bit outside of the mainstream.

Grabbed a pop with ice, looked down and saw fly had come out of the ice machine. Told the man at the front and was given a new cup. He didnt ask which machine it came out of, didnt go clean the machines, and didnt offer a refund. Used a different machine and prayed for different result. Disappointed in the level of cleanliness to say the least.

Maintained well!The staff is helpful & friendly.The offers are good and even the reward program is nice.They have $5 Tuesday which is amazing and if you are a rewards member you get free popcorn also which makes the movies experience much better.You can upgrade your popcorn by paying very less!!

Great theater! There are quite a few screens here, so there is usually quite a variety of films playing at the same time. The staff are typically nice and display good customer service. I would recommend seeing a movie here. It is fantastic to have it located at the mall! It is easy to get to and easy to get out of afterwards.

Not sure why we have to choose our seats before going in. The seating map was confusing and I picked seats opposite what I really wanted. Oh well, it is a decent theater.

Friendly staff, great concession specials & clean seating. The only downfall would be the tiny bathroom stalls. There is a huge space in front of the stalls but you have to pretty much straddle the seat to shut the door. Otherwise I have no complaints! A great movie experience!

Great movie, but no ice in the soda machines and it was almost 80 degrees in the theater...uncomfortably hot.

Nice cozy theatre inside the Coral Ridge Mall. The auditoriums usually have a lot of seats empty during matinee hours so you can customize your viewing angle to the hearts content during those hours. Have had a lot of memorable movie experiences inside this theatre

Super friendly manager, good $5 Tuesday deals, but by far not one of Marcus best theatre. This theatre is in desperate need of cleaning between shows and of a makeover. I have been to Marcus theatres where all the seats are dream loungers and the screen quality is 10 fold. This needs and update stat.

Pleased that sound system was not overly loud! Good seats. Tickets sold at the same line as refreshments. Convenient. Good sound system. Reasonable prices for tickets and concessions.

The best theater option in the Iowa City/Coralville area. The theaters are generally clean. The staff is always super friendly and speedy. The popcorn here is the best Ive had at any theater. Its not too salty or buttery and almost always tastes fresh (depends on time of day for freshness). I just wish this theater had the option for reclining seats. I would gladly pay extra for the comfort of new seats.

It was quiet on a Sunday evening. Staff was friendly & helpful. I purchased a Sunday movie deal pass which gets me into 4 movies, on Sundays only, for $5 each, over the next 10 weeks. It also gives me a 20% discount on any food & drink purchases, & you know I have to have popcorn at the movies! The theater was clean, the seats were comfortable. They had high backs, but did not recline. There were cup holders in the armrests. The restrooms were clean.

The layout doesn’t match what shows on the screen. I chose a seat, didn’t match up where I chose to sit. So I sit in the seat that was suppose to be right. A girl comes in and complains that she has to sit next to me and then chomps her popcorn in my ear. This whole knew thing with the seats they are doing is unfair and stupid.

Excellent. Everything is just great! The theater is super clean and modern, the staff is courteous, the concession area is neat and clean.

Place really needs updated, we live close by, but most times wed rather drive out of town to go to a nicer theater.

Always have a great time here. Snacks are a little pricey, so Id suggest trying to sneak in your own. This is a great family experience and also fantastic for a date!!

Wow this is a good location for watching movies my wife and I prefer to go to the Dream Theater in Cedar Rapids the seating is no contest hands down the Cedar Rapids Marcus Theater is a superior theater. Having said that I will say that the employees at Coral Ridge are generally friendlier then Cedar Rapids and the manager at Coral Ridge is incredibly friendly and professional

Its a pretty small location, the theater we were in was cramped, far too hot and kind of dirty (we were at the first showing of the day even). The drink station was messy and sticky but the staff was very friendly. I will not mention the restroom further other than to say that they werent good. On a positive note, the young man that took our tickets was warm, sweet and very helpful, he even told us (and other attendees) if he liked our movie. I really liked him, he was a hoot!Overall I think the experience was okay but there is a lot of improvement needed.

Great place to catch a cheap movie on Tuesday’s and if you happen to be a student Thursday’s are great as well only $6 to see any movie ( extra charge for 3D movies). Pretty pricey on snacks and drinks though, I paid $6 for a large drink.... yikes. Good selection and plenty of theaters.

So now when you go pay for your movies you dont talk to anybody you get tickets from a kiosk, you choose your seats. M believe or not they actually expect you to sit in the seats you chose even when the theater isnt even 20% full. What a terrible experience to see a movie.Zero nostalgia.

Solid movie theater but can be a little dirty. Shows all the latest films and had plenty of screens. The only gripe is that often times with how busy the theater can be, they dont clean the theaters as well as they should. The floor had tons of trash, popcorn, and sticky soda that doesnt bode well for this theaters reputation. Doesnt happen EVERY TIME, but still occurs enough. Get your act together Marcus and this would be a 5 star review. I go here mainly because of proximity but if there was another theater close Id likely go there if this is how the establishment is maintained.

Clean, comfortable theater with the usual concessions. Canned beer available as well. I only wish they had the upgraded seating.

Stale cinnamon bites, like eating rocks. They did send me a free ticket to come back but it expired the day before and they wouldnt grant it which was upsetting. The movie was great and the seats are comfortable. Id suggest eating before you go to the movie to save on money, a bellyache, and tooth ache hard rock cinnamon bites. Otherwise, this is a nice theater.

Finding the time and actually going to the theater is a big deal for us. We drove 30 miles to Marcus Coral Ridge Cinema today to see the movie Solo. After purchasing two tickets, spending another $15 on popcorn and a drink, sitting in god awful uncomfortable seats of a stuffy/hot theater, the movie colors started going haywire about 2/3 of the way into the movie and THEN finally just went blank screen with about 40-45 minutes left! The movie just stopped! NO ENDING! Their equipment broke so we didnt get to see the ending! Im so angry! They were waiting outside the theater doors handing out a free pass to everyone. BIG DEAL! Were out an hours drive there and back, our concessions cost, our movie tickets cost, and the time spent watching an unfinished movie! Looking like DVDs are going to be our movie choice from here on out! Thanks for nothing better than wasting our time AND our money Marcus Theaters! TRULY a let down!

This theater has $5 movie Tuesdays and $6 movies any day before 11 AM! They offer plenty of deals to help make moviegoing more affordable. My only complaints are that the concessions area does get messy when it’s busy, and some of the theaters seem very small. I hope this theater gets the DreamLoungers soon!

This place needs a MAJOR renovation. The seats feel dirty, floors sticky, and the bathrooms smell as if they havent been cleaned since the mall opened. The last 5x Ive come here, they didnt even care enough to have an attendant at the ticket booth. So not sure why I bothered paying. Theatres are generally cold so I wore a sweater but for some reason our last visit (summer time), pretty sure the AC wasnt on....ugh. It was miserable and to top it off, they didnt play any previews so we missed the first few minutes of the actual movie.... Thanks for nothing, cridge

Theater itself is great. Just not sure when they started allowing young teenagers into rated R movies. Made the entire experience of going to a theater pointless. Could barely hear 75% of the movie. Wont be going for anymore movies

We got there on Christmast to see a movie that was supposed to start at 7pm on to discover it wouldnt start until about 715 because of power outage. Power was back on just needed to wait for permission to resume movies, etc.My complaint is that the snack area was totally depleted and when I was given my popcorn bucket it was only 3/4 full, when you pay over $20 for popcorn and pop you should get what you paid for..

Picture and sound quality is excellent.

Good and bad. It did not seen as comfortable as others. And it smells like beer very bad in the theater. Maybe just clean it a little better and it would ok. Do not get me wrong they do the movies correct and the staff was nice.

Out of large popcorn containers. They wanted to charge me the same price as a large combo but only give me the medium. Oh it gets better. They were out of butter as well. I took a pass on that great deal. I walk into the actual theater and it looks like a bomb went off. The place was filthy. Popcorn and trash everywhere. Who the heck is the manager of the Coralridge mall theatre They desperately need to get their house in order!

Theater we were in was split down the middle, felt like awkward seating positions for most of the theater to watch the movie. The concessions were good though.

Very nice but would be far better if they did the recliners like higher end movie theaters. Could draw a larger crowd.

Horrible customer service. I took my son to a 10am movie. At 10 the screen was still dark so I went out and told them and they said they would work on it. I went back into the theater and waited patiently until 10:30. Still no word from the staff. I went out and asked again and the manager told us Im on the phone with them (whoever them is) and said it would be at least 15 mins or more before the movie was up and running. I asked why they had neglected to inform the people in the theater of the delay and all she said was we are short staffed.I understand projectors break. But never once were we given any updates on the status of the movie and we were all just left waiting indefinitely.We will be taking our business to Sycamore mall theater from now on. This is my second awful experience at Coralville in the last month.

Marcus is great in Waterloo and Cedar Falls, but this place doesnt seem to have their act together. There was one person at the ticket booth and a long line, and they didnt let anyone back into any movie until 10 minutes before the supposed show time.Speaking of that, its 7:05 and the projector isnt even on. Its a 7:00 show.Oops. Now its flashing weirdly.Now that the movie is over, I can also report that the side speakers were broken, and the film wasnt framed properly, as some words were cut off the side.

We saw Star Wars this morning, New Years Day. Loooong line to purchase tickets & super expensive popcorn. Only one person behind the counter, handling ticket and food sales. Very nice young gal! Very overworked but very polite and professional. Movie was good but very cold in theater. And no paper towels in the bathroom. We don’t go to the theater often, it’s too expensive.

Like any other theatre its extremely over priced. But what can I say I love a good movie with a huge soda and a gigantic thing if popcorn that I will only eat the mound on too and call it a day haha.

Concession prices are outrageous. There were two lines through the screen top to bottom. Small screen. Good quality sound and picture.

Although its in a mall, it has the look and feel of a traditional movie theatre. Movie experience was good yet the theatre and concession area itself was a bit messy. Just some wrappers and spilt popcorn in numerous places. Staff seemed nice and productive.
