Great course. Well maintained. Top 3 in CR Iowa City area.Front 9 and back 9 have a great difference in dynamics.

Has a nice large lodge, and ample parking. The golf course is large with a tunnel going under the road that divides it. It has a pretty little Creek running through it as well. It has a very large hill which is great for sledding in the winter.

Course is in great condition. Play the tees that fit your skill level and you will enjoy your round.

The course is fine but the dividers on the golf carts are the dumbest thing I have ever seen. Just charge people $5 more to get a different cart. It makes it really unpleasant and is why I have been going other places in the area this year. I am not trying to share a cart with someone regardless if there is a pandemic or not.

This is a beautiful course and is my favorite place to golf. Some holes are super challenging and others are pretty easy. Any skill level will fit in here. The staff here is awesome and accommodating. Highly recommend.

Expensive and I just dont like the golf course. Never have its to goofy. but its like a lot of things that people pay money for they have to believe its good. Its not.

Great place, but for a wedding venue they have a ton of rules and arent very flexible on them.

Wish people who played here took better care of course. Repair divots and ball marks , follow cart path rules in wet weather.

Fairly open course, some elevation change and greens were always well manicured.Impressed by clubhouse/restaurant staff; friendly and helpful each time we visited!Great place to play, fellow golfers friendly and rates are not outrageous.Played 4-5 times last year and plan on at least doubling that number in 18!

Cant go wrong with this great city-owned golf course.Excellent condition with a great staff from top to bottom.Course is always in great shape & is challenging but not overwhelming.Good for any level of golfer.Divots Bar & Restaurant has great food & drinks.I wish they would/could bring back twilight specials like they offered 3 years ago. $20 unlimited holes (after 6pm) during the Summer until dark.

Cart rental a bit high to watch a golf meet. Pretty course and well takenn care of.

Besides being a great place to golf , it was a very nice facility to have a tennis banquet and awards ceremony.

9/26/13Very much enjoyed this course. Thought the views were fantastic. First time I played there. Thought the staff was excellent, very friendly. Price is good, would certainly play there again.The second time around at least you know where to hit the ball on the back nine.

My favorite course in the Iowa City/Coralville area. Front 9 is like a link style course while the back 9 is a bit shorter and tight along the fairways

First time golfing at Brown Deer great course and will be back great shape.

Good course with fun holes BUT expect long wait times at each hole as apparently they have no ranger and let out way too many people out on the course. A round of 9 took us 2 and half hours.

Good 9 hole course run by the city of Coralville. Staff is always attentive and course is well maintained.

Greens were rough for the price.

Challenging and fun golf course that is maintained in very good condition. Many holes have very nice views. One of only a few courses in the Iowa City area with bent grass fairways (also Finkbine and BlueTop RIdge in Riverside). Pro shop staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and they offer golf lessons. The driving range has numerous flags and yardage signs to hit to from wedges to driver, and their is a putting and chipping green.

Love the views and the carts have GPS.

This is a nice golf course in a beautiful setting. The course was in great shape when I played there.

Was there recently for a function and it was poor. They could not stop the music so we could start our program. Paid $7.00 for glass of wine and the glass was all spotted. The windows we all finger printed up inside and out. Not enough seating and no one around to provide more chairs we had to go look for them ourselves and bring them in. Water was empty and no one refilled it. No one picking up plates off the tables. I really expected much more from an establishment that hosts wedding and other functions. Will not recommend for that kind of money.

This is my home course I golf at weekly. For a public/city run course, this isnt a terrible experience. The front (new) and back (old) nines are completely different. The front 9 is fairly open with some hazards and trouble spots. The back 9 is intermingled through a housing development and can get tight, especially if you spray the ball off the tee. Pace of play is great during the week, weekends, dont even bother making a tee time unless you have 6 hours to spare.The club house has great food and is a nice environment. Just dont show up on a league nights unless you want to see a rowdy crowd and bartenders dancing on tables.My biggest issues with Brown Deer are the greens are always in terrible shape (need to hand out free divot tools or make signs asking golfers to replace divots), there are several dead spots on many of the holes/greens, and their mowing staff continues mowing while you play.
