Expansive and well-maintained garden/ park with nice paved walkways for easy access. There were no trams the day I went and it was almost empty, which was really nice. I loved the butterflies, of course, but the whole park is fantastic. birds, rare trees, various flowers and plants. I would budget 2-4 hours and check the weather as there is little shelter from the rain.

This garden is breathtaking. There is a vast selection of tropical plans, butterflies, cacti, and flowers. There are also a few crocodiles and lots of iguanas. They have a shuttle that drives you around the park with set stops where you can get off, enjoy the views and then hop on the next one. I strongly recommend using the shuttle so you can see where everything is and listen to the interesting chat about the unique plants in the area, and then do a second round where you get off in various stops. This garden is huge!!! If you decide to walk, dress for the weather, have lots of water on you and some snacks. You can easily spend 8 hours here if you walk around and have lunch at the restaurant in the park.

I might be biased because we got engaged here, but Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens is one of my favorite places on Earth! The variety of plants and wildlife is amazing. We saw iguanas, lizards, alligators, butterflies, and countless beautiful birds. The cafe has refreshing snacks and beverages to enjoy when you want to take a break from walking through the garden but warning, they are pricey! There is also a free tram you can ride with a guide who will share a wealth of knowledge with you. Dale Chihuly’s gorgeous glass sculptures can be found in the natural settings, just as the artist intended. You’ll love it here!

The Fairchild Botanical Gardens has always been an amazing place to enjoy with your family. We haven’t been back in months since the Pandemic. We recently wanted to squeeze some outdoor activity that was safe and enjoyable before the school year begins and decided to try it out. I was really impressed with how organized they’ve made it to make sure people do not cross paths with their one way directions and how effective they were in keeping masks on their visitors with signs throughout the garden. Great job to the team there for keeping our community safe, taking responsibility into their own hands, and allowing us all to enjoy the gardens again during these times. We’ll be back again soon!

There are so many picturesque ceremony and reception area options. Finding a spot to photograph is almost a challenge because of the abundance of lovely nooks there are to choose from! As you walk around, you’ll learn so much about these tropical plants and what this organization is doing to help conserve them. It’s a win for all of us! What an amazing garden! If you are remotely interested in the natural world and conservation, you must give this place a visit. If you are interested in plants, then this will be nothing short of a treat. The gardens are located in a beautiful locale surrounded by magnificent old mansions. The gardens (more like, sprawling grounds) can be toured on foot or on a cart where the driver will stop at intervals and give you a description of the plants and animals you see. There are also greenhouses inside, including a butterfly garden (although it can get quite humid inside)One of my favorite places in Miami!

One of the absolute best gardens in the world, hands down. Unlike most other botanic gardens I have been to, this one was mostly outside with the exception of a few fruit trees such as cacao that were in an open-air glasshouse. You will find some trees that are not common in cultivation or at other botanic gardens in the States here such as the baobab or the plants of Madagascar. What I find particularly neat is the sheer number of diverse plants that are grown outside here in addition to all the little (and not-so-little) critters that abound here such as anoles, geckos, iguanas, crabs, birds of many kinds, frogs, fish, etc.The palm collection is one of the best in the world, and one could spend hours here, so long as they don’t mind the occasional thunderstorm or rain shower. If you are a member of another botanic garden, they can let the entrance fee slide and admit you, but otherwise the cost (around $30 per person) may be steep for some. You certain will get your money’s worth, as previously mentioned, it is extremely well taken care of and maintained, and the collections are ultra-diverse. Would highly recommend a visit any time of the year, but the summer is less crowded but much warmer, and the winter is drier, more crowded, and marginally cooler. I will certainly come back next time I am in South Florida.

I do not recommend this place if you are a photographer trying to capture an interesting shot. This place is full of plants that you can see in any street on Miami. This place is not a botanical garden. As a member I was there yesterday afternoon, I spent money in tolls, gas and time getting there and in 1 hour I left the place very dissapointed. The butterfly exhibit was really boring. Just 2 ordinay species of butterflies flying around. Nothing appealing, really depressing. Then I decided to walk on the pathway in the folliage so I could get a nice flower shot, but it was impossible because sadly, someone had the great idea turn on the water mist all around the paths and the humidity was damaging my camera a lens. The nices trees are now impossible to photograph because they are sorrounded by ugly chairs, so I could not event photograph a nice tree.Definetly this is not the place to spend $90 on a year membership. Only go there if you love photographing lizards. If you love photographing butterflies, get a membership at butterfly world instead. This is a garden near Coral Springs. The good reviews that you see posted in this site, are probably done by elderly people who have nothing else exciting to do.

If you want to escape the craziness in Miami, then this is the spot. There is so much to see here that I would recommend 3 hours or more, especially if you are the type to explore and love plants. There are many unique plants and views to see here. The gardens also offers a driving tour to take you around and explain some of the areas they have. IMO the best way to visit the garden is to take the tram ride first and then go explore the garden on your own after getting some information and history about the garden. This place is so beautiful!!!! Of course its a garden so you have to go at the right time when certain flowers are in bloom. Some of the flowers I saw were wilting and it was very sad and upsetting but it really depends when you go! I was also expecting to see more cherry blossom trees especially since they were having a cherry blossom festival but they only have a couple of them! The Japanese garden is very small compared to other places but still a reasonable size. They definitely have a lot of camelias and their rose garden didnt have too many roses. I will definitely be back when more flowers are in bloom. They also have a BEAUTIFUL tulip garden. You will have to avoid the crowds of people if you want to take pictures of the beautiflu tulips with no people in the pictures though! Definitely come in the morning since a lot of tourists come in the afternoon or mid morning!

Wow, this place at night was great! NightGarden at Fairchild was spectacular. It starts off a little slow, not too exciting but then picks up. My favorite part was the rain forest. It reminded me of the movie Avatar. The family loved it also. There is also a cool area where you walk through a long gazebo type place with lights to music. In the middle part, there are buttons with different colors. When you hit them, the whole “hallway” changed to that color for a few seconds. There are other areas with interactive lights also. There is also a musical light piano thing where you touch the light and make notes/music. Over all, a very nice place. Would definitely come back. We want to visit also in the day time. One last thing, be warned, there are signs that warn you about crocodiles in the area, please see pics. We did not see any but be warned anyways.Btw, the pictures don’t do it justice. You need to go and see it live. Also, buy your ticket on Groupon and save. They also have children, military and veteran discount at the gate.

Finally the owner came out and helped us in a more professional and friendly way . The place is amazingly beautiful but there was a lack of beverage stands or employees aroundtthe garden. Let me say that this place was huge!!!! We literally walked 3 miles. It was extremely hot and we were getting dehydrated because there were nothing to drink anywhere. We were able to find shade in some places and were able to cool off. We did enjoy the beautiful sights, my favorite was the butterfly garden... The lakes were to die for. In some spots i felt like i never wanted to leave. My kids enjoyed it. I guess next time i will come better prepared and probably take the tram tour. When we went to purchase tickets they were charging $42. I told the lady online on their own website it was going for $32, with an attitude she said so go get them there... When we left, since there was mud literally everywhere due to the rain they offered a trolley, which I thought was great. Wait time 10-15 minutes they said. We literally waited 40 minutes (i timed it) before they came, one small golf cart, and there was a large crowd waiting but he could only take one person at a time. Meanwhile there were 2 golf carts just sitting there and about 4 employees nearby doing absolutely nothing. Never again, at $42 a head you guys could have honestly planned this way more efficiently. I emailed them as well about my experience, no reply. Obviously they dont care.

Definitely one of my favorite places to go. Beautiful nature, and so many different palm trees, orchids, just so many plants to learn about and enjoy. Gorgeous lake views, butterflies, even the little cafe has good food. Fun place to go for all ages. And their festivals are always fun.

Gorgeous garden! You can end up walking around here for several hours. I could spend my whole day here just sitting on a bench or watching the sun rise. Its almost never crowded at all. Everything is so beautiful! Parking is always very easy to find.
