Black sholes park. Is nice place to go when you want to get away. Fishing for me was not so good . Caught a lot of grass. Lots of bait fish. The reason I give it a 3 rating. You cant use a gas powered motor boat. I have a boat with a motor. And the bigger fish are in deeper water.

J liked it because its a remote and quite place to go sit at the picnic tables that are provided for you to have lunch and maybe do a little fishing .And also you have the covered bridge to go across to get to it

The nature trail was great. Spring is a great time to see all of the flowers and new growth. The park is well maintained even if there are some slobs that leave there trash behind. There wasnt a lot of it.

Kayaking was great with the family. Plenty of nice sights and the covered bridge was worth the trip. A small fee to get into the park.

Great place for crappie, bass, hybrid, catfish, bream and yellow perch fishing. I caught a 3.27 crappie there and a 34 lb flathead catfish there. A boat is very helpful but bank fishing isnt bad either. The only knock I have on this place is their hours of operation are not fisherman friendly. Unlike all other reservoirs in the area they have bankers hours. Fishermen need to be on the water at daybreak and off the water at sunset. If that part were corrected it would be the best lake in the state or at least comparable to.

The lake was hidden had to drove on unpaved roads to get there. Beautiful serene could have spent the whole day people watching the few family fishing. The excitement when the kids caught a fish was priceless. Bathroom was clean.... Lovely family friendly park, tuck away deep in the woods... Dont forget to wear your hiking shoes. LOL

Had a great experience at the park caught some fish. I love that they have a nice restroom facility and a place to rent!

If you like fishing from land, I would not fish here. There is only one area to fish from the land and the turtles are awful about taking your bait. Im glad it was currently free to get in, I wouldnt pay to fish here unless I had a boat.

Lovely place to take the family or even for some quality with yourself and nature.

If youre going to hike or site see, youre in the right place. But, Ive been twice. Just for fishing. I paid the fee of 3 dollars to fish. And I did not catch a single fish. Neither time. Nor did anyone else. Very very dry fishing experience.

Peaceful...tranquil....ANNNNDDDD SOME FISHIN!?! Is a day made in heaven.....my daughter played at the park with her dad while I did some work and I wish I had my boat n pole....aaahhhhhh next time!! Oh and its $2 to fish for county residents!!!!

Got a veterans memorial tucked in you need to see. Its beautiful. The park is too. Quiet. Secluded. Way tucked back off the main road. Get there before the word gets out and enjoy yourself.

Creepy and too far out. Went here for my nieces bday party. Told my brother to never do that again. It was just really secluded and dead.

Retreat House was very nice and it has small lawn where we played corn hole games for hours. Nice hiking trails.

First trip to Black Shoals and was mainly to check it out. Very scenic area. They charge a fee if you want to cast a line.

Great place to kayak. I was looking for big Haynes Creek Recreation Area, found myself in a subdivision. I was told to go to this place instead. Enjoyed kayaking thoroughly. Saw lots of bird life and the water was clean.

The Rib Kage is here at Black Shoals Park. Their new location is in McDonough, Ga and will be opening soon.

It was a nice facility with plenty of parking.The room was quite appropriate for the gathering of friends.

The female park ranger was Awesome! Very nice, knowledgeable, but didnt take no mess. I loved her personality. She cares so much about the parks cleanliness, wildlife and overall condition. You better have your licenses and ID too! LOL! Really good striper fishing when they are biting.

Nice place with a large, busy fishing area and informative war memorial. This is a great place for walking or running in trails

Great quiet place to kayak

Nice low key small lake. Fish can be finicky but there is plenty of Crappie, bass & catfish etc. Rockdale county gets in free.

Large country lake not too crowded. Has a large dock and a good boat ramp- just for small boats and trolling motors. Saw several Kayaks on the lake.$2.00 entrance fee for Rockdale residents and $4.00 for everyone else- also has a $2.00 or $4.00 fee for using the boat ramp. Much larger lake than Tribble Mill. People say its good lake for fishing bass, crappie and catfish -I didnt have much luck. The water was amazingly clear compared to other lakes in the area.Id give it 5 stars if it was $2.00 for everyone.

Call before making a trip here. My wife and I drove 30 mins on a Wednesday around noon to paddle board and fish this lake, but the gates were locked, and there wasnt a park attendant at the front. There werent any signs posted on why the park was closed.

Just got stuck on lake. I paddle to the boat ramp from the damn in about 45 min by myself. I made it to the boat ramp 8:25 which the sighn clearly states boats off the water buy 830 and the gate closes at 9:00 . When I made it exhausted but happy I was on time only to be told that It was dark and he needed to leave . After an yelling back and forth as Im paddlin the last 100 feet I was pissed and he left I was out of the park buy 8.45 . This is unacceptable at a public service park that has clearly posted signs of the rules that were followed to a tee despite the long journey home. So I hope that this is taken care of quickly . Its 940 on Friday night 9/30/16
