This is one of the 2 quick half day (or less, especially in the warmer weather) hikes I do on a weekly basis (the other being its sister peak, Peaked, which is just north of Middle Mountain). Traveling light in the non winter months I can get to the top in 45-60. Breaking trail in the winter, its more like 2 hours. Lovely cliffs to sit on and enjoy the Valley view to the south, east and west once you get to the summit. Good hike for kids although I think Peaked would make a slightly better choice with kids. On Peaked you can get a nice view before getting all the ways to the summit if the kids tire out early. But your only good view on Middle is at the summit. But worth it if you ask me!
