Ive been going there since 2007 with my first grandson I have four grandkids now and they all went there we will drop them off every time since we are not Smithtown resident. My grandkids love going there the people are friendly and nice. They have playgrounds on the sands ends on rubber mats. Unfortunately this year with a Corona and everything. I decided not to go until August I decided to taking my granddaughter at 3 she went there last year and the year after I think she miss going there we also feed the animals take them carrots celery and she likes feeding them. Last August of this year I tried to take her it was a young girl there I told you I was getting dropped off she said you cant come in I told her how long Ive been coming here she insisted I did not get mad I was disappointed. I told her I was just getting dropped off she refuses so I left and my Grand daughter was what happened Grandpa I told her that they will close because of the corona smiles she said okay Jones is not good grandpa and I said you are right. Anyway this place is a nice place to take your family to the peaceful I only go there Monday to Friday not everyday not every week its a nice place whole family friendly people Animal Park nice walks. Very good place. I wish I had a Smithtown card but I know I cant well again nice place for family Im grateful for the years they did let me in be safe people cover your face

I have to say that this respite is my “Happy Place”During these crazy times I need a diversion of peace and tranquility . The second I step out of my car my spirits are immediately lifted .The grounds are well manicured and pristine you can see that whoever is in charge takes great pride in their job .The animals are my favorite part, they look well cared for and well fed btw!!!I didn’t know that they are rescues which makes it all the more special .The only thing missing ( aside from no restroom due to Covid) lol is that I can’t go in and cuddle them !!I’m so grateful for this gift of a daily escape for me !

There are trails for hiking and cross country skiing in the winter. Oh yes, and a wigwam and special activities year round! Visit Hoyt farm for a lovely experience in nature!

Awesome park for the family. One of the best in the area for playing, picnicking, walking around. The animals are well cared for and are a hoot for the kids. There is a water park in the summer. Haven’t personally experienced it yet but I’m told concerts are held during nice weather. Highly recommended.

I love this park. There is so much to see and do there. There are animals that you can feed such as goats and bunnies but you have to bring your own food to feed them. (Absolutely no bread of any kind). Nature Trails. A big playground area for the kids. A picnic area. During the summer there is a spray park. The fall is awesome to visit there because of the beautiful foliage. They also do a great job with decorations for Halloween. One of my favorite places to visit. Highly recommend it.

Bring carrots! There are goats and pigs and a cow to feed. There is also a bunch of chickens, a fairy garden or gnome town and a playground. The water park looked small but fun, it was closed for the season already. One side of the playground had all old school toys and the other side was more modern. There was also hiking trails but we didnt walk much of them. There was a booth at the parking lot entrance, Im not sure if they charge to get in ever. When we went yesterday in September we didnt have to pay.

An amazing place to bring your family. It is one of the most Diverse parks around the area. It has a stage where concerts can be held, plenty of picnic tables, they lend out boce balls, Softball equipment, Corn hole equipment and a bunch of other things all you have to do is give them your license or state identification. They also have a great nature walk where there is live animals that you can pet and feed. One of the best parts about to park is it also as a sprinkler area for the kids, they have a Palm tree and a bunch of other cool looking things that sprinkle out water definitely a great park for the kids and adults as well. definitely a place to check out.

Hoyt Farm is a great place for families with small children to visit and play as mentioned in other reviews. I will often bike there with my daughter and spend time at the playground and then feed the farm animals. In the winter with fresh snow on the ground, you can sled down a small hill right next to the main parking lot.

This form is as beautiful as it is fun for the family. It has the most cool little museum and antique home to tour a sprinkler farm for the kids I sand playground as well as a soft cushion and playground. Numerous barbecue and picnic table areas and the town shows movies in the summertime. Make sure you are aOr you will pay to access. Which is fine with me considering I paid the taxes for this wonderful form. White farm is great

Hoyt farm has a pleasant 2 mile nature trail through woods, orchards, ponds, and Meadows. Birds abound especially near the rear of the Nature Center where there are feeders. Turtles, geese and ducks are in the pond areas. For the young there are variety of paddocks with sheep, goats, cows, rabbits, chickens etc. Picnic arears are available. There are ball fields and a playground area with a splash park. In season tours are available of the grounds and buildings. Restrooms are available at the rear of the Nature Center and Playground area. A Smithtown parking permit is required in season. Group events can be scheduled.

So much fun here! Playground has lots of age appropriate variety, bathrooms are clean, and ice cream truck is parked right there which is a nice treat. In the other side of the preserve are some of the farm animals. You can fed them and pet some bathrooms and sinks are close by to wash up after touching the animals. Overall, a great place. Bathrooms on the animal side are only open from 1-4pm though, so this is a bit inconvenient.

I love this park because it has a big playground for all kids, the playground for the little ones has a rubber floor to protect the kids from scratches. There is also a sand playground that has different activities for kids. Also there are trails to walk around. This place also has a water playground so kids can cool off on summer time.I mean this place has everything for everyone in the family their is big farm and you can even feed the animals. If you need a bathroom they have this too and changing tables for the babies.

We love this little farm!!We dont live in Smithtown so we are not able to get the sticker that allows year-round access. As a result we can only go during the off season. So its pretty basic and its not huge, but the animals are just so sweet!! Chickens, rabbits, pigs, sheep, goats, and the cutest little cow named Charlie. (I think he is about 18 months old. Sweet as can be.)So (at least during the off season) there is no parking fee and no admission fee. Free is always nice. The animals are approachable. You can pet them and feed them. We usually bring romaine lettuce, carrots, and apples. (Some people bring celery.) They dont seem to love the lettuce, but they sure do love the carrots and apples!! :-)As the other reviewers have mentioned, they have a playground, a picnic area, and restrooms ... but we go for the animals. There are some hiking trails. Nothing too exciting, but nice for a short (20 - 30 minutes) stroll. My advice - go to Stop&Shop, grab four 2-lb bags of carrots (about $8), and go have a really nice, relaxing hour at the farm. :-)

Beautiful. I worked there for years as a kid and a few as an adult. It has only gotten better. It was a family owned farm that was given to the Town of Smithtown and turned into a park. 133 acres, nature paths, picnic areas with restrooms, a nature center, a historic house, lots of farm animals and a few wild ones. The staff is hard working and the people running the place give 100%. Halloween at Hoyt is so popular you have to call in advance. Great great place.

Hoyt farm is a wonderful place for kids and the playground topnotch. However, when the ice cream man shows up and parks in the designated space outside of the playground, the playground is flooded with diesel fumes until the ice cream runs out. Diesel pollution is harmful to the lungs and developing brains of infants, toddlers and elementary age kids. Shut the truck off.

Great place. Its good to see resident/our tax dollars are being used to maintain such a nice place for us to enjoy. it is town property and funded by resident taxes, so only residents are paying. non-residents dont have easy access but then again, theyre not paying for any of it so they probably dont mind. there are lots of state parks that state residents can go to see their tax dollars at work.
