Ryan and crew are smashing the QT and salt/fresh water maintenance game out of the park. One of the few go-tos nowadays for my needs.

Had a bad aptasia problem. I have wrasses so could contact get beghia nudibranch, tried to use a ora filefish but that just destroyed my Rock anemones and took out a couple of my torches ( one green torch and one beautiful 4 headed Aussie gold torch). Finally tried peppermint shrimp but still no joy. Then I started hearing of people keeping copper band butterfly fish in reef tanks. I had heard that the ones fromAus are less likely to eat corals. So for a pair from a local LFS. Initially they both ate in the QT but then I lost one and then the other. At this stage my DT had aptasia everywhere ( I tried aptasia X as well as f-aptasia, both seemed to just make matters worse). So my coral guy told me of Ryan. He had 2 copper bands that were feeding well and were past QT. They were expensive initially but you have to remember that these were clean fish, could go straight into the DT. Went to pick up the fish and was amazed at the facility in Long Island. Fish were in pristine tanks with no dirt anywhere. I toured the full QT process and it was impressive! Found out that in some batches only 40% of fishes make it through QT. So finally got to my fish, we tried feeding and they ate. So paid and took them. Felt strange to put fish straight into my DT. But I did. One CBB went to my friend and he saw it eat straight away. Mine seemed not to eat so I texted Ryan. He promptly responded to try mysis shrimp. I tried that and to my reliefs CBB started eating. Since then the CBB has been eating like a champ! 2 weeks in, I started to notice that my aptasia was disappearing, first the small ones and then eventually they all disappeared. The CBB now even holds its own with other fish while eating (I have some big tangs, sail fin as well as hippo tangs). Amazing that I got fish that are supposed to be difficult to QT, and they did their job. Really felt that Ryan was only a call away. I ended up asking about some other new fish I had got before I got to know Ryan and he even helped on that. He is my go to fish guy now!!

I called Ryan for a consultation for my newly renovated business. His consultation was clear cut, precise and to the point. I cannot wait for his crew to come install the tank and stock up with living coral and fish!!!

I am phenomenally wowed at the care and quality provided by Island Fish & Scale. I am SO glad to have taken a chance with them, in one appointment they have truly transformed my tank from a sad bare looking tank into something that actually has me enjoy it once again. They are very professional yet very personable. I had the honor of meeting Ryan and Jenny who worked quick and were very fun to have. Not only do they care about your tank but they also enjoy other pets which is a total plus. Ryan was instantly able to diagnose an issue with my equipment just by taking a look. They work efficently and very clean! The cost of their service is more than reasonable and well worth the investment, because not only do you get serviced but you get educational lessons on pieces of equipment and livestock. This is coming from a broke college student lol. Ryan and Jenny were more than generous by staying longer than the agreed time to ensure that we revieved top notch care, they even provided us with Refractometer calibrating fluid and a pad for the sump free of charge. They helped me set up my display light and sump light on a timer which has been impossible for me to do for almost the entire year that I have had the tank. You can really tell that they care about what they do, so if youre hesistant about employing anyone to help maintain your tank, Island Fish & Scale would be my recommendation. I hope to see them again soon. They made me feel like with their service, my tank will have success and things will thrive! Thank you Ryan and Jenny for your help!
