Theyve got roachs really bad.. I was on my laptop in the lobby and I see roaches crawling across ,my foot. I told staff and they totally acted like it was no big deal.. Rooms are roach infested and dirty..

We booked a family get together at Fort Rapids to get all the grandchildren together. I was very apprehensive once I read the reviews, but it was centrally located for everyone so we went ahead with the booking. We booked a Suite in the Villas. I was pleasantly surprised that our experience was very good. Here is what I loved about the place: Waterpark is amazing!, Room was clean, Staff was courteous. Here is what they still need to improve upon: bunk bed in the loft did not have the correct size mattress, same height as the guard rail. Kids could roll right off the top bunk. Kitchen in the Suite could use a sink, had to keep washing dishes in the bathroom. Spoke to a manager and she said they were working very hard to address all the complaints and problems posted in the reviews. I think they are trying and we will definitely stay here again.

I will start with 4. We checked in, went to room, and did some slides. Been here 2 hours now. Check in was easy, rooms are nice, and there are lots of lifeguards here walking around and using whistles when something is not right. Seen guy test all the water from all locations. So far I dont know why people have a bad time here. I will post more soon. Pizza wasnt the best out there but was good.The next morning we get park to ourselves before its open to public. Lifeguards are out. They are all on it. We had a good stay and would do it again. Not sure why they get such a bad rap.

I used to go every Thursday in the summers when I was in day care, the water park area was nice but the chlorine was too strong, we always had to bring our own towels because there wasnt a lot provided by the resort. Waiting in the line to get in took like 10-15 minutes, but of course now its closed due too an electrical fire which gave poor ventilation around the resort, bed bugs, roaches, house centipedes, and not so clean water and fire hazards, they say they plan to fix it back up and open it up again, I hope they do but I dont think Id ever stay in the hotel part, this place was a Western version of Coco Keys. Ive been to both water resorts and they are the exact same basically, water bucket, toilet slide and all.

The chlorine smell is really powerful in this place. The ventilation is horrible and it started giving my family a headache after just being there for an hour. I think they need to remodel this place and tell the parents to supervise their children better. This water park needs a major remodel. Staff was nice for the most part. I did think it was weird that they had a life guard monitoring the hot tub. He just kept walking back and forth starting at me. Overall my son had an awesome time though and thats all that matters. :)

We had a GREAT time! The rooms were clean and the waterpark was well maintained. The life guards were serious about what they are doing! I found there to be a ton of staff and all of the young staff had mature supervisors close at hand.Our room was a perfect size with lots of space. There was a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and blow dryer. Full sized iron and ironing board, but I wasnt touching those while on vacation. The only thing that I would like to see an improvement on is the food services. If you love buffets theirs is awesome, but if you dont then your choices are limited. Overall we had an incredible stay and were very surprised by how great the staff was and how clean the room was.

IF i could give it less than one I would. These are the rudest people I have ever encountered. Ive visited this facility many times but refuse to ever sit foot there again. I tried to contact customer service to reschedule a vacation 5 days in advance due to child being in hospital. The first call, I was transferred twice and waited 17 minutes without any help. Called back, told them the issue and I needed to cancel and they transferred me to a managers office where again there was no answer. By the fifth call I made in the hospital lobby, I was pissed and the bit*h hung up on me. I finally got the reservations CANCELLED after paying for 1/2 the stay! NEVER again! Theyve go my last dime, hope they choke on it!

Ive been here before and it wasnt bad. THIS time, we had bought Groupon tickets so my son could take friends for his birthday. When we arrived we were told we had to show our tickets at the gift shop. There was a simple misunderstanding and we were treated horribly when I tried to figure out what was happening. The employees were rude and dismissive, and eventually told me that if I didnt like it, I could LEAVE. I went to the manager who then had no time to help me. She, also, was very dismissive. I waited OVER 20 minutes at the lobby desk (there were VERY FEW people that were being helped) before she even acknowledged me. All around, even while in the park - horrible service and RARELY smiling. Find somewhere else to have a party for your kids. I think they pay their staff to write 5-star reviews- I know of two for certain in this list of reviews.

My daughters birthday was February 3rd of 2013. We reserved the bright angel suite for her birthday and slumber party. I reserved the room 3 weeks in advance and paid for the room online. When we arrived at Fort Rapids the day of my reservation, they asked me for my credit card. At first I didnt think anything of it. When I received my credit card statement in March they had charged my card twice. once when I reserved the room in January and again in February after we had checked out. When I called Fort Rapids about their mistake, I was told they would credit my card back. Here it is April 2013 and I still dont have my 600.00 dollars back. Im very setup with Fort Rapids. We go their all the time for the waterpark but havent been back since they took my money. Think twice about reserving a room online with this hotel. Please dont waste your money on their pizza. Fort Rapids have the worst pizza I have ever tasted. I bought 3 large pizzas for the slumber party and the girls thought they were cardboard with cheese on them. I paid 55.00 dollars for them. The bottom of the pizza crust was burnt. If anyone wants to sue Fort Rapids with me, please let me know. I believe they are breaking the law and stealing money from people. I didnt stay 2 nights, I only stayed 1 night and they charged my card twice.5/28/2013 Update, I am happy to report Fort Rapids gave me a refund for the overcharge. Was not clised due to bed bugs lol. They were closed due to misapproprating funds by chinese company that leased building...then they had a fire and permamently closed. Koo was still open but closed by health department. My son worked there in the arcade and had the leasee kept up on maintenance and kept it clean it still may be open but gambling all profits was the downfall.

I didnt stay in the hotel. I went there for a day pass. My company gave us a significant discount. I had read the prior reviews and went anyway. I was annoyed when I got there it was horribly crowded and there were not any lockers left. I looked at the life guards and thought great a bunch of young punks. My kids will not be safe. I was wrong. The life guards are AWESOME. They are young responsible adults who took there jobs very serious. They constantly paced and had their eyes on the water. The immediately stopped any rough housing. They were in constant communication with hand signals. They always had their whistle in their mouth, life preserver in hand and face mask readily available. They were helpful, respectful and smiled when they spoke to you. Yes I had to wait a long time for food and it was crowded, but above all my family and I were safe at all times. BTW the water and atmosphere is warm. I will go back.

We took our son and 4 friends for a birthday party in Nov. 2014, stayed in the villas and had a great time. Villa was great and water park was perfect size for my 2yr old and my 8yr old and his friends. Meet my family there two weeks later for thanksgiving and had a great time then too.

This place was a joke, again. Stayed right after water park opened and our room in the tower was disgusting. Thought wed try again since all the rooms were updated. Got the Bunkhouse for our daughters but the top rail of the upper bunk was missing and the other had nails sticking out. Had to change rooms at 9:30 at night to what the front desk told me was an upgrade for our trouble. It was the exact same room one floor up. The bunk bed was fine, but there was no table, chair, ice bucket, cups, coffee maker and the HVAC unit kept cycling on and off all night so it wasnt drowning out the traffic on I-70. Horrible night. We checked out at 4:30am and came home. Was supposed to get a call from management, but that never came. Im telling everyone I know to not waste their money at this joke of a hotel.

Stayed here on Saturday thru Sunday. Obviously i expect to be packed since it was Saturday. No big deal. Rides are still good but the chemical odor in the air was a bit strong. Hour in park and our eyes were burning but tolerable. Room was decent had some minor issues. Phone was not working but was fixed great. Shower however was another issue. You had to be magician to find hot setting. The handle was installed backwards from temp settings. Food in restaurant was not bad. Breakfast buffet was good and decent price. Overall not bad but could be little better. Biggest complaint was for other people we were with. Had group staying here. We were only family got our room at 3 when supposed to. Only suggestion open park couple hrs early for your in house guests not just 1hr. Had better time in past but will come back.

I have visited Fort Rapids a couple times. The first time the rooms were nasty. Dirty and smelled. The water park was nice so I decided to not stay there and go for the day pass to the water park. After having horrible customer service after every trip, I will never return to Fort Rapids. My family would go 1-2 times a year since I have 3 year old twins. Fort Rapids will be losing out business for the furture. Really sad that the staff (not just one employee, the entire staff) was so rude. Even had to speak with a manager and she was just as rude as her staff.

I want to write a review for future people who look into Fort Rapids. I wish I had done myself a favor and read them before going. My family and I (12 total) arrived and we were given our keys and ventured up to our room (284). We opened the door and got hit with a heat wave that took your breath away. I look at the thermostat and notice it is turned on but it is a hot 89 degrees! I turned it down to 65. In the meantime we got our stuff in the room and checked it all out. We hadnt had anything to eat on our travel there so we left for food and came back about an hour later. When we opened the door it was still 87 degrees, so we called maintenance. Maintenance came up and looked and all they said was You dont have it set low enough WHAT??? No. I went to the front desk to complain and told them I needed a new room, so they fooled around for about 15 min and gave me keys to room 282. I went back up and started moving stuff only to find out room 282 is 90 degrees. I went back down and told them so the manager took me from room to room trying to find one that would work. After showing me 17, yes 17!!!!!! (kept showing me 2 queen bed rooms) We found one that was cool and slept 12. In the meantime I am missing out on time in the water park and the hallways are so hot I am about to have a heat stroke. Does Columbus not have A/C? SO, I got everything moved to room 255 this time and it was 76 degrees. Still not cool enough for me, but I told myself Id survive. The living room TV had no remote and no buttons on the front of the TV, the ceiling fan didnt work, bedroom remotes had no batteries, the dryer didt work, and quite frankly it wasnt even clean. What a disappointment! The water park was fairly nice, and first Aid was great. My daughter had a febrile (fever) seizure and they handled it very well. The manager on the other had pissed me off. He came out and said does it involve the water park? First aid said no he said not my problem What a thoughtless dick head. Anyway, point is DO NOT STAY AT FORT RAPIDS!!!!!

It was ok we had a good time the room was nice, the bed was soft but horrible to sleep on because they still had the plastic on the mattresses the blankets wouldnt stay on and it was just horribly uncomfortable unable to sleep at all on those mattresses due to the plastic, hallway had a foul odor, the water park was nice and a lot of fun but almost intolerable as soon as you walk in the chlorine instantly starts to burn your eyes and after being there for 4 hours everyone in the family was coughing uncontrollably due to the very very strong chlorine difficult to handle especially for my daughter who has asthma, we couldnt have stayed longer in the pool area if we had wanted to because we couldnt handle the chlorine any longer, next time I think we will try great wolf lodge heard its much nicer.

Kids had a great time. We were able to check in early and staff were great. Our issues as adults - water was too cold to enjoy (kids were fine with it, id guess it was about 65 degrees), pretty sure all the kids working at the snack area were stoned, pizza was terrible. What we learned : take your own food and drinks. Would we go again? - eh, maybe, if we got a great groupon deal or something.

We have been here twice before (in 2013) and things went pretty smoothly both times staying in the hotel and the water park. This time it was a completely different story. We only came for the water park and half of the stuff was closed (the pool with basketball hoops and the lily pads, the lazy river, all the slides that dont require a tube not in the kiddie area, and the green tube slide). The water was freezing!!!!! Especially in the kiddie area where they allow everyone to open the doors to go out and smoke which might be contributing to it. I asked a lifeguard about the temp. as we have been here before and it was never an issue. She claimed they were having trouble with their heating system. It was so cold that our childrens lips were blue and we only ended up staying for a few hours. We arrived at 12pm and they didnt open up the lazy river until after 2pm and one slide. Then they finally opened the other pool around 2:30. Honestly, I couldnt figure out why they werent open. The only thing I can speculate on is that they were short staffed as everything was in working order.The locker rooms are a whole story of their own. Dirty, toilets not flushing, no toilet paper, and neither swimsuit dryer worked (in either the mens or the womens locker room). My husband reported no toilet paper in the mens locker room for hours and that it was extremely small-2 toilets and 2 urinals.This was definitely our last trip to Fort Rapids.

If I told you how truly terrible this place was you wouldnt believe me but who cares I got a deal on just pay half but if they would have offered me a complementary week stay I wouldnt have accepted in fact the one night stay was long enough from rude inexperienced bar tenders to absolutely disgusting rooms to the worst breakfast buffet Ive ever seen at any hotel ever in my entire life in any city in any country if I could attach photos you would laugh at my expense our phone didnt work our TV didnt work our door needed lifted up to shut and the wifi didnt reach, 25 minutes for coffee only 4 people in front of me but the coffee carafe only hold 3 1/2 cups of coffee we even switched rooms and met the only nice person there at the front desk but nothing could fix this 2day 1 nightmare. Someone with too much money and no business sense woke up and bought a water park / Chinese buffet one day and I got suckered in with a sale

Ive taken the kids here twice and enjoyed both times. Normally I sit and do homework on the WIFI while the kids play in the water. However this time their WIFI was present but was not functioning. They also charged $10 for me to sit in the pool area as a guest... last time it was free to sit. Its OK though. I just sat somewhere else. The staff is primarily comprised of very young adults but everyone was courteous and offered conversation. Ive only used the pool area and have not seen any problems. Its a quick getaway and Ill continue to come back.

Rude Staff!!! Couldnt check in until late. The grounds and room are not well kept. The hotel is located in a bad area of town. We didnt feel safe going outside the hotel. The Koo Seafood Buffet is overpriced and a waste of money, could get better food at Ponderosa. The water park is small and not well kept. Overall HORRIBLE experience!!!

We got a Groupon package for 4 daily park passes. Im glad I did not have to pay full price because this place was terrible. At least half of the water features were not working. The major slides were working but the largest slide, everyone got stuck in the middle and had to try and push themselves the rest of the way. The Chemical smell was making a lot of people throw up including my 4 year old daughter. There was no heat in the locker rooms and no toilet paper so people were using the hotel towels to wipe and throwing them on the floor. The whole place was freezing and everyone was coughing over the chemicals in the air. Staff was terrible at best. The place was not packed but was in complete chaos and dirty. Im glad I never purchased a nights stay here. I cant vouch for the rooms but just seeing there main attraction I would not want to see their rooms. I will never bring my kids back here. Ill try Great Wolfs lodge next.

Really enjoyed the Water Park with the family. Would have had 5 stars but the food service is horrible and the hall to the locker room was an ice box. Pizza was burned and they ran out if plates. Locker rooms were freezing cold. Other than the that a great time was had.

Extra sad for my 4 daughters that was going to be our big family trip this summer. Instead ended up with a crappy room at another hotel. Trip ruined. I hope next summer will be different

I originally booked online through their website for $239 and then saw the next day they had a special for $99 on Facebook so I called to change it. Originally told that was only for first time customers, which I was. They then agreed to change the booking. Check in was at 4 pm. Then told they had a private party for the waterpark and we could only swim until 6 pm that day. Would have been nice to be told that when I called about the reservation! We pulled the couch out for my kids to sleep and there were potato chips in the bed! The only options to eat were a $29.95 per person buffet or food from the bar - not very family friendly. We will not be returning.

Wont be going back unless it was remodeled very in need of update.. had non working tv in our room & 2 others that worked this one wasnt even needed. I wasnt sure why it was even in our room and the hinge plate I noticed on door was missing.. key card didnt work on outside doors.. Service was ok no complaint there.. some parts you could tell were very new and other parts need TLC badly.. as far as Waterpark kids enjoyed themselves.

Food was okay and the staff was nice, check in way painful even though booking was though their own site. I also was dissapointed to see Managers walking around not smiling or saying hi... Waterpark was good, we have a 8 and 6 year old and they enjoyed it, one main problem was that during the busy times there were not enough tubes to go around and people would hold them at their table and there was no reason for that nor did the staff ask them to share...

I called ahead to ask prices so I could plan our trip. When I arrived they made me pay a price %30 higher and told me that the person that quoted me the original price must not have known what they were talking about... We went in the winter time and the changing rooms were about 30 degrees, my feet got numb just trying to change as fast as I could. When we ordered a pizza at the snack bar for lunch they never gave us a receipt. When we went up to claim the pizza they told us the would not give us the pizza without a receipt... They finally gave it to us after for argument. The whole trip was a hassle.

I was very concerned after booking the room after reading the reviews others wrote. We arrived on 5/2/2015 and stayed one night. Only waited a few minutes for check in and the staff was friendly. The room was dated in the tower area but was clean, I seen staff running the sweeper and cleaning numerous times. We didnt have any complaints !!1

Dangerous air quality. As I sit here listening to my children coughing tonight while the sleep. I feel it is important to warn others of the health effects caused by a 4 hour visit to the water park. We could not stay long because my children could not stop coughing because of the poor ventilation. 7 hours after we have left my kids are still coughing (a lot).

My family and I reserved the King Bunkhouse Suite for one night. The room was disgusting. Dried blood on the bathroom floor & in the bathtub, rusting refrigerator, stained carpet... I cant even guarantee the bed was clean. The water park was nice for the kids, however, there was black mold all over the climbing ropes and white mold in the creases of the steps- health hazard!I would not waste my money here ever again after being to Castaway Bay (which was gorgeous!)... time to renovate and clean Fort Rapids...

Im sitting in Fort Rapids writing this review. Chlorine is so strong my friends eyes just started burning and tearing up and my throat is burning. There arent any available tubes for rides there arent any pitchers available to buy drinks for the kids. We went to the hot tub and they closed it for maintenance for an hour. Glad I bought tickets on Groupon not worth the money otherwise. Unable to rent a locker because so many were broken.

Stayed on 7/27/2015. Room was awful and overlook a junk pile. Many stains on the doors, broken chair, holes in bedding, tub had large chips out of the bottom, wallpaper peeling, coffeemaker did not work, sheets on the bunk beds were very thin and gray (instead of white), tv in bunk area worked only sometimes as did the internet... are just a few of the issues with the room.Activity pool was disgusting (quality of water and a film on the bottom), lazy river was closed and the snack bar service was terrible. The overall condition of the hotel is dirty and in need of painting.Upon checkout I spoke with someone at the front desk who was not a manager but did assure me she would pass along the information and have a higher-up call me. It is one week later and no one has been in contact. I travel frequently and have never had to post a negative review until now...

This hotel should be shut down. Horrible management, rooms werent ready 90 mins after chrckin time. Water park was shut down early on a holiday for an unannounced private party. Restaurant staff had 1 cook and food ordered was on a 2 hour delay. Half of the slides in the water park didnt work. Horrible experience and staff didnt seem to care at all when we complained.

It was all good , till 4 hours in. Then the kids said they couldnt breathe ! So I got them away from the water park. The activities board , had activities going on every hour. Till 9pm. No activities ! Then I took the kids to get ice and pop. Ice machine was out of order. Pop machine out of caffeine free pop was sold out. So I pushed refund. Quarters shot out. I moved a large trash bag sitting on the floor, and had to kill a cockroach !!!!!!

Honestly, this place is terrible and i dont know how they stay in business. We booked a staycation for a family of 4 for $189 for one night which was a great deal. when we got there, they screwed up our reservation (made it for the day i bought it), but they had a room for us (below the level what we were supposed to get). fine, no discount or anything though. We moved on and didnt worry about it. Got to the room and immediately was disappointed. The room strongly smelled like cigarette smoke (like someone smoked in there all the time). The bath room was disgusting and didnt look like anyone cleaned the floor, or the floor of the tub (ever). There was garbage laying around in pretty much all areas of the hotel (in vending machine rooms, in the lobby, and arcade. The indoor heated water park was freezing. Also heard alot of people complaining at the desk. My wife talked to one family and they said they had to sleep with their coats on because the heater in their room did not work and the hotel did not do anything about it (it was 10 deg that night). not a family friendly resort at all. sorry, just being honest here. I would never stay at that place again even with the water park. Staff unfriendly, and unhelpful. Big disappointment, left as soon as we could the next day.

Had a good time here with out 2 years old son. He loves the place and it is all we need for the price. Got a king bed and a sofa, the room could be update but it wasnt that bad. The pool were nice for the kids, me and my husband enjoy the hot tup and tubings. It was fun,wish it could be more but we still enjoy it. The staff were nice and guards boy they are doing their job really well. The rotate which keep them doing their job which make me feel safe if my something happen to him but we keep really cloes eyes on him as well since hes still very young. He loves to play at the kiddy section where the water with the big bucket falls. The food were good at the buffet which it will be a little cheaper for the selection. Not a bad place to go for a short trip with little one.

Stayed there the 24th -25th. The room had an awful odor but fine, whatever. The bathroom was just creepy and made you want to do anything but get naked. It was dingy and the stopper was not in its proper place exposing the rusty stopper elements. But I was there for a family reunion and was focused on spending time with family. I had pre-paid for my stay that totaled $232.00 in advance before my arrival. My mother and I were sharing a room and she decided at check out to pay for one of the nights. All the front desk attendant was supposed to do was refund one night to my card and charge my mother one night. Instead someone charged my mother for one night and charged me 3additional nights. When I realized the error I called and was told they realized the mistake and had already issued a refund for the three nights. That they would email me a copy of the returned charges. I attempted at one point to explain to Isabel that I was also due another night as I had originally paid for two night and my mother had paid for one of them. It seemed she was unable to understand that and transferred me to the accounting department that ended in a voicemail stating the mailbox was full. Indicative Im sure of how well the staff stays on top of their jobs. After several phone calls, and speaking with Marcia, Rob, Stephanie, and Isabel. No one even apologized they all just said they had not made the mistake, and didnt know who did. Rob even told me in my desperation for help that I had already told him what happen, he guessed I was just telling him again to make myself feel better, he doesnt even work in that department, he is just helping out because they are short-handed. He told me if I thought I was frustrated what about him. He has a condo in Mexico and would rather be there. Flabbergasted I ended the call. But I would make a suggestion to management to relieve Rob of his duties so he can enjoy himself in Mexico.All in all they have over charged me $464.00 and some change. $$348.00 of that is supposed to already be processing as a refund. Hopefully I have a better experience when I speak with the back office tomorrow.

For the amount of money i spent this was very disappointing. Our room was dirty. stuff split all over the walls. The bathrooms and sheets were clean though. Customer service is severely lacking. i bought something in there very busy gift shop. the cashier was the only one working an courteous. There were two other employees in there talking to each other and when asked to help bag my purchases they never looked up. they grabbed a bag and held it out for me to bag my own things. while eating dinner in the koo restaurant I saw one of the same employees from the gift shop in the restaurant hanging on an employee there. also I did not get my cup refilled. even though i held it in the air and yelled i would like some more coffee. my husband had to get up and get my coffee. that night we went to the coffee bar and the girl helping us there was not able to do math. The pool how ever was fun. very full of chlorine, and very very busy. This place needs to send their management to Disney or learn some lessons. very disappointing.

Rooms are old and run down. Restaurant food was awful. Waterpark had so much chlorine that your eyes burned. One person in our group ended up with pneumonia from breathing the chlorine. This was a group reservation and I will NEVER take a group there again!

My family and I stayed here for the weekend for a wedding. Needless to say, I was not impressed with this hotel at all. It was overly priced and the rooms were very outdated. My family and I reserved three rooms for this occasion and there was something wrong with each of the rooms. The room I stayed in with my husband had a light that would constantly flicker as though as the light bulb needed changed and had god awful wallpaper in the paper in the bathroom that was starting to peel off. It reminded me something out of a horror movie. My mother and aunt shared a room and they had nothing but problems; they had to get maintenance to unclog the sink, then the coffee pot did not work, so it had to be replaced, the curtain was torn in several places, and lastly when they went to use the iron board the leg fell off the board. Then the newlyweds, had a terrible experience as well. They spent the extra money for the jacuzzi room and it was a joke. The room had a king size bed with a jacuzzi in the the corner. It looked so out of place. The bathroom was tiny. To make things worse, when the bride and groom went to bed that evening, they noticed that there was blood on the bottom of the pillow. Between the three rooms reserved, we had the jacuzzi room with king size bed, a regular room with a king size bed, and a regular room with two queen size beds.Other things that we noticed about the rooms was that the heating/air condition unit was extremely loud, the walls were paper thin and could hear the conversation of the people in the room next to me, and if you were lucky enough to be across hallway from the ice machine, you might as well give up on getting any sleep because the ice machine was extremely loud and every time some one got ice, it would sound like a mac truck was coming through your door. This hotel is in need of major renovations. I would not recommend this hotel at all and further more, dont waste your money on the water park because the tickets for that is overly priced as well.

Unfortunately we had a very disappointing stay at Fort Rapids. Before our stay, I had read negative reviews on yelp and google but didnt take them seriously. I wish I had!Online reviews from previous unhappy patrons mentioned that the line to check in to the hotel was very long and slow moving. I found this to be absolutely true. My daughter loves water parks and our family has stayed at many. I have never had to wait in a line like that simply to check in at any other water park resort.Inside the water park there were empty pizza boxes and trays of half eaten food all over the place. I saw a half eaten hamburger lying on the floor. It looked as though no one was on staff to maintain the cleanliness of the area. Further the next morning when we returned to the water park I saw a piece of pepperoni lying on the ground with ants crawling all over it. This was first thing in the morning when the water park had just been opened and things should have been spotless. I was really turned off by the general lack of cleanliness in that space. Plus at other resorts there is often a designated area for eating, which keeps the food mess contained; there isnt just food strewn about everywhere. The cleanliness alone is reason enough to not return but we experienced other issues.The high speed internet did not work in our room. I called the front desk to ask for help with this and the most they could do was give me a password. The problem was simply that the signal was too weak for any of our devices to reliably pick up, so we actually did not have high speed internet in our room. If the signal is too weak to reach our room; than we cant use it, plain and simple. Saying that we would have access to high speed internet in our room was, at best, misleading in this case.Finally I was very surprised to learn that the water park doesnt open until 10am and check out is at 11am. On the day we were checking out that left us with about half an hour to enjoy the park before having to deal with getting everything out of our room. Plus for that half hour we were there we couldnt go on the only 2 slides my daughter wanted to use because there were no life guards on duty at those slides. I understand that patrons are allowed to stay in the water park after they have checked out, but sometimes you arent able to do that or dont want to deal with changing in the grungy locker rooms. All the other water parks we have stayed at previously open at 9am and have a full staff on duty at that time so that guests of the resort can enjoy the water park in the morning before having to deal with check out. For my family this was the final disappointment. I asked if there was a manger around that I could share my dissatisfaction with but no manager was available.I dont usually write negative on line reviews, However Fort Rapids is the most poorly run water park I have ever visited and I dont want other families to waste their money like we did.

Waterpark portion of resort was very nice as facilities were all in working order, decently clean, and water was warm.As for the hotel portion of the resort, it seemed very mismanaged. After waiting in a very long front desk line (not enough staff) to check in, we went to our King suite room #201 which had been completely missed by housekeeping. Called front desk, barely got a sorry and we were asked to come back to front desk for a different room. Again, waited in front desk line forever then barely got a we are sorry for your trouble. We were given a different King suite room #205 and told we were lucky because it was their last room available. Walked back up to #205 which had been cleaned only to settle in and later discover hairballs and dust bunnies, a loud out-dated room heater that barely worked, and a tube TV with a broken remote. Hotel hallways were cold and dirty. Easily visible air vents looked like they hadnt been cleaned in a couple years. Because of this first impression, we refused to eat at any of the resort restaurants. It seemed there were hotel staff living in guest rooms on the floor as well. Would have complained again but didnt want to waste any more time with hotel staff. They were always understaffed and seemed too busy to extend basic courtesy and good customer service manners. It appeared to us that the hotel needed more staff and probably different upper management. IF we ever go back it will be for the water park only by purchasing day passes so we can stay at a better hotel nearby.

Overall everything was ok I think it was alittle pricey for what you got. The rooms have been poor maintenanced over the years. It feels like when it was first built it was probably really nice but time and poor upkeep is starting to show. The kids had a good time at the pool there was plenty for them to do. At first I hesitated making our reservation (after reading all the reviews). After our Labor Day lake house vacation fell through we decided to take our kids to Fort Rapids. We went with some other family members and booked one of the villas, however when we checked in we got upgraded to a larger suite (off to a good start!). The room was BIG 4 bedrooms (1 king room, 1 king loft, 1 bunk bed room, and 1 room with two queen beds. It also had a small living room, dining room table, small kitchenette (with dryer!) and fireplace. The room was outdated, however it was clean, and we did not see any bugs as others had reported (which was my main concern). If I had to compare the hotel room to another hotel I would compare it to an old Holiday Inn. Its not a 5 star hotel and its not a 4 star Marriott level hotel, more like a 3 star Holiday Inn. We did not eat at the hotel so I cannot comment on the food.I was a little disappointed with the water park for two reasons. First, many things were closed- slides, lazy river, etc. Two of my kids are in the 5-6 range they were too short to ride the big slides and too old to have fun in the kiddie area. The water fort area has two little big kid slides but one was closed at all times and the other one was open but shut down when the guards took their break-which literally left my kids with nothing to do but play on the fort or in the kiddy pool (which isnt very thrill seeking). The lazy river was closed our entire stay because they did not have enough life guards working- big bummer for parents with smaller kids who dont want to sit in the kiddie pool all day and want to float around and play with their kids but dont want to climb around on the structure area. I wish the hotel would disclose that not everything would be open. If I would have paid for just day wrist bands to the water park I would have been very disappointed. The second complaint is that they didnt have towels- so bring your own. The sign says they dont promise towels but it would have been nice for individuals that stay at the hotel to have towels. It wasnt that busy when we were there and there were virtually no waits, even more reason I felt like towels should be available.I had read some reviews on the chlorine smell- it is pretty strong. Glad to know it was clean but hours after being home my nose still tingles a little.All in all its a cheaper experience (cost and accommodations) than Great Wolf Lodge.

This place was great for my Younglife group. But there was a staff member there who apparently very much disliked her job and maybe even the world. The irons were very useful for making toaster waffles and the phone had lots of bacteria on them. They put me on hold for 30 minutes when I asked them for some coffee. I didnt know it was that difficult. The staff was very rude except for 2 women. One was at the front desk and the other brought me towels for me and my soaking wet friends. The water park didnt provide towels so I had to freeze my balls off going up to the room. THEN ask for towels on the phone. The HVAC machine was a nice touch till I had to punch the crap out of it to get the Heater working. Theyre lucky im a professional at fixing things. P.S I like your star decoration.

I don’t know where to even start here….We arrived at the hotel/water park about 2:00 pm. The grounds are horribly not kept up. Trash can be seen everywhere on the premises. Not only that – there were many boards in multiple areas lying around with nails sticking up. Cars were lined up in the fire lane as there was no other parking.After waiting in line for 40 minutes to ‘check in’, I was informed that our room was not ready. As check in was not until 4:00 (and based on reviews), I was not overly surprised. We were given waterpark passes with little else detail except to come back at 4:00 for room keys. We stopped by the restroom and were appalled. Not a single one of the stalls had toilet paper in the holders. A few had some laying on the ground and sitting on the back of the toilet (where it got sprayed by water when the toilet flushes). The toilet seats all had various broken issues. The bathroom counters were disgusting and most of the faucets were broken.I should have left then, but figured I would make a decision when I saw our room. We had already paid and perhaps it would get better. I took the kids to the arcade to play while we waited for the rest of our group to show up.At 3:30, I noticed the line was even longer than before. We got in line immediately. After close to two hours in line, I was informed our room was still not ready. Groupon has fine print that check in is not until 7:00 pm. I was not informed of this the first time I checked in. As I had already spent 2 hours and 40 minutes of my day waiting in their line, and looking at the line behind me – that had gotten even longer – I tried everything to get a room. Trying to work with them I offered to buy an upgraded room that was ready. There were none. I asked if I could schedule our visit for another time and was told I could not. I asked to speak to a manager and was informed a manager was not available.The gentleman next to me was frustrated, and when the door behind the desk opened – he yelled back asking the manager to come address everyone. The manager walked out; told the gentleman he needed to leave because he was being aggressive. The gentleman explained he was frustrated that he had spent so much time in line and could not get answers on his room. The manager promptly picked up the phone and called the police.We left and paid for another hotel. Complete waste of money. The worst customer service, zero management, poorly kept property with safety issues. I do not recommend.

There is absolutely nothing to like about fort Rapids. Horrible customer service. I booked a room with groupon and even with the groupon rate its still not worth what you pay the hotel rooms are awful the bar will water your drink down I know because I ordered a double shot of jack and it was completely watered down I paid $10 for a watered down drink. The next day when my girlfriend and I went to the water park almost all the rides were shut down most of the day the prices of the lockers are outrageous and so is the food the employees are jerks and they dont care about the customer. Its also not that warm inside the water park and the water is freezing cold. Dont waste your money on this place its not worth the price you pay for it go to zoombeezi bay which is cheaper and way better or go to kalahari which is way better and actually worth the price you pay Ill never go to fort Rapids again

I booked this resort through Groupon for an overnight stay at the end of Christmas Break. We live in Indiana & our daughter goes to college in Virginia, so it was a good half-way point for the family as we sent her off for 2nd semester. I was reading the reviews as we pulled into the resort & was panicked by what many others had experienced at Fort Rapids. Yes, I had to wait in line for a bit to get registered, but I met some very nice people who were also coming for their first visit. My family unloaded the car & brought our things in while I waited, so it went fairly fast. I had read that the rooms were terribly outdated, so I was pleasantly surprised at how nice our room was. We were on the first floor, so we were able to park the car outside a door close to our room, which was nice. We were on the opposite end of the resort from the water park, so we got to see the other parts of the resort, which all looked very nice. We had 3 children with us ages 12-22, so we did not take advantage of the activities they had for younger children. Our room was huge, one of the nicest we have stayed in. We paid a little more to get the 2 Queen beds & sleeper sofa. The 2 tvs were great for our family & we did not mind they were older (non-flat-screened models). The room was clean & very comfortable, including the bathroom. Very convenient layout. Mini fridge & clothes dryer were much appreciated in the room. We stayed in a villa in the newer part of the hotel, so I would definitely recommend asking for that area. The room was perfect for 5 people, maybe even 6 as it was advertised for. The water park was great; better than we expected from the reviews. Obviously, there were many activities for smaller children, but we found the bigger slides to be perfect for us. We had a blast & barely had to wait in line. I especially enjoyed the Science learning opportunities provided all around the park & encouraged my 7th grader to read all the educational signs posted. The water & the air was warm, so it was comfortable. The chlorine was a bit strong & our eyes were irritated, but we felt reassured the park was clean. The young kids working at the water park were very professional & friendly. We stayed at a Great Wolf Lodge a couple years ago, and my sons thought this park was way more fun! The staff at Fort Rapids was super friendly & helpful. The restaurant was nice & the bar was really cool. I have no idea why so many people posted negative reviews for this resort, as we found it to be a perfect place for a fun family weekend get-away and weve been to a lot of really cool resorts!]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]

I stayed there with a bunch of my friends. The waterpark was fun, but the stair climb to get to the slides was exhausting, but manageable. Was hard to get tubes for the big slides, but there was a lot of people. The hotel part on the other hand was not so great. Our room couldnt reach their wifi so we had to sit in the hallway to get a connection. Also the hallways smelled like weed big time. My friends and I all felt very uncomfortable when a guy came out of the room next to us and asked me personally if i wanted to walk somewhere more private or if I just wanted to come into his room with his friends. At this point we didnt even care about the wifi we went back into our room. This doesnt really concern the staff, but they could improve the wifi. The next morning we started to pack up and found to centipedes in the bathroom crawling around. I dont recommend the hotel part, but the waterpark was fun. Especially for the younger ones. Next time will find a separate hotel for sure.

Stayed 1/23/16 Its just ok If I were a kid I would give 5 stars, my children enjoyed them selfs. I didnt have any issues with staff at check in or out, they were friendly. I liked the western theme & the kids club every hour they had stuff for them to do & thats about all they had good, arcade is small the waterpark was full and so no towels for us to use. Due expect eyes and nose to burn from chlorine, super strong.. Our Villa was nice bed was comfortable. I think they need to update some of the hallway furniture some pieces were broken and old couch and chairs could be thrown out.. Bar was dead for a Saturday night but hey it was nice to relax and get away with family.. I checked the place out once and Im good, dont plan to ever go back. Unless they do some major remodel or something. We didnt eat there as buffet was 20$ person and the Grill menue didnt have anything I was in mood for that was ok prices.. oh and keycard swiper on the outside side doors did not work lock myself out and learned that and a person says to me oh they never work as if they were regulars.. If its for kids go swim but other than that dont waste your time. Not the greatest area either if that matters to anyone but that didnt bother me.

I havent even been here yet but my boyfriend has called over 5 times now in three days to reserve a room for an event our group is having there. He hasnt spoke to one employee and gone to voicemail three times, he even left a voicemail yesterday and heard nothing back. This customer service is ridiculous, why would anyone go there after being treated like this? Theyre lucky our event is hosted there yearly or Id never bother again.

If I could rate 0 stars I would!! From the minute I walked in to check in for our overnight stay, customer service was horrible!! It took over a half an hour to check in because no-one knew how to find my reservation... On top of the fact that the rude employees were too busy having their own conversations! Finally got the key to our room, headed up, and the room was dingy! The remote controller was broken, the bathtub was dirty and the door handle was broken (it had to be jiggled to close properly)! The water park had no available life jackets for the little ones and the water was freezing! After swimming, we wanted to eat, and if you dont like seafood, youre out of luck! The buffet is expensive and with two 2 year olds, they wouldnt have touched anything! We decided to order a pizza at the bar/restaurant... 45 minutes later, we still had NO FOOD! When I asked the bartender why it was taking so long, his response was, I dont know, we only have 1 cook. We waited about 10 more minutes and finally told him that we were leaving, we were hungry and couldnt wait any longer! He then handed me a bill for the soda we had!!!!!!! I promptly took it to the front desk and told them I didnt think we should have to pay for them either... She walked away to talk to the bar manager, came back and said, well hes busy, can you write your name and number down and well call you!!!! They later called and comped our drinks! Meanwhile, we had to waste more of our vacation time, driving 20 minutes away to another restaurant! Later that night while in our room with nothing to do, because the water park closes at 9!!!!! I called the front desk to ask for a pack and play for my 2 year old, and they said, ok ill tell housekeeping. I waited about an hour and still no bed! So I tried to call housekeeping, no answer! Called the front desk back and got this response, well they are very busy, give them a few minutes.... Within 2 minutes they were there (making me believe they forgot the first time I called)... We could not get out of there fast enough in the morning! Then when I tried to call and talk to a manager, I was told there was nothing they could do because I purchased my stay through Groupon, and that I needed to call them! Absolutely the worst customer service and stay weve ever had!!!!!!

Great family fun place. Wyatt Earp rooms beds rock hard. Fred Flintstone may have enjoyed sleeping here...but our family didnt. The water park is the best part of Fort Rapids. The staff are polite and the water park area was clean. The lifeguards were very attentive. My kid had a great time, though was disappointed that one of slides was closed. I do think they should enforce a swim diaper policy for young kids. Part of the pool had to be closed when a guest pointed out a floater.The hotel, on the other hand, was a bit of a disaster. Our room was dirty. There was toothpaste smeared on the wall, food stuck in the air conditioning vent, and worst of all, I killed a roach climbing up the wall. We slept with the bathroom light on that night.We originally purchased a Groupon for our stay, but Groupon cancelled our transaction a week before our trip. They sold us a package with water park passes for a time when the water park would not be open. Groupon claims the hotel did not inform them of this and the hotel claimed they were unaware Groupon would be selling passes for that time. We ended up booking through the hotel directly - I would not buy a Groupon Getaway again, but I wouldnt stay here again unless we got a special.

This appears to be a very old hotel that they are working to upgrade. Our room in the tower was nice & clean but you could see signs of age. The shower rod was loose, etc. Things like that do not stress me out so thats not an issue. The staff was very friendly and helpful in all areas. The servers in the buffet were not as attentive as were used to but they took our dirty dishes and refilled our drinks without us calling them over. The arcade was clean and about what youd expect. Nice selection of prizes for those who choose to partake. The waterpark was nice for those with kids probably 13 and under. It was close quarters making me glad it was not overly busy. The water temperature was comfortable. We had no complaints with the water park, hotel, or staff.The few things we did not like: The seafood buffet was not worth the price. Food that should have been hot were not. I saw SafeServ certificates hanging up but we were leery about the cleanliness of the food prep. The most well cared food was the sushi, the soups, and the traditional Chinese fair like General Tsos chicken, Chinese vegetables, etc. We were too hesitant over the food safety to eat very much. Next meal we went to the bar and ordered food - pizza, salads, burgers - and guess where they went to get it?! Right into the buffet kitchen! But this food was hot or cold as it was supposed to be so we werent complaining. I had 2 drinks at the bar, both margaritas. The first was incredibly light on the alcohol. The second was better but still not what I was expecting. The ewww factor for us was 2 cockroaches ran across the bar while we were sitting there. The place was definitely not bug infested and you could tell they tried hard with maintenance and cleaning so Im sure they were just due for their next bug treatment but it was still off-putting.Would we go again? Probably not only because we dont have young children and this place seems best suited for the younger crowd - including the face painting, cookies & milk, and other child-driven activities in the lobby in the evenings. But it wasnt bad either.

Not too happy with this place. $24 a person, no discount for my 7yr old daughter, Yet she was not allowed to use 5 of the activities due to height restrictions. Staff were extremely rude including the manager on duty. Bathrooms/locker rooms were absolutely discusting!There are way too many rules and restrictions in this place. I dont think it is meant for young children or short people.Not fair on how tall you must be to ride the slides, I believe it was 38in. And the lilly pads were 48in. Im only 59in, so my daughter is short for her age. She was allowed on the slides for the first hour or so we were there, then all of a sudden the slide attendant pulled out a pvc measuring stick and decided she could no longer ride the slides.Also the Hot tub pool is reserved for persons 18+. So basically she was restricted to just the kiddie pool and playground. Which i didnt find to be fair at all, seeing as I was charged the same price for her as an adult. I dont understand why there was even an 18+ area at a family, kid-friendly water park. I think if there were adults not wanting to be burdened by children, they should not be at place like this. Apparently tho, that is not at all the case.

They have hidden charges, our curtain didnt close, and our microwave didnt work. When we called to get it fixed we waited 45 and no one came. We then called the front desk back and then they told us they would call maintenance to come fix it. Finally after over an hour of waiting we got someone to look at it and replace it.Also, the wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling.I will never stay there again. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

I stayed here on 5/31/14. Had to wait in line for 15 minutes to check in to my room. Got room keys to go up and open my door to an ALREADY occupied room. Thank GOD no one was in the room!!! Went down to the front desk for the gentleman to tell me I went to the wrong room. Well you handed me the keys and told me 803, so I went to room 803 and the door unlocked. He wrote 802 on the key envelope, if I would of went to 802 the door wouldnt of unlocked anyway. Half our team had to switch rooms, some even more then once because of ac not working or the fridge not working in there room. I paid cash for our girls waterpark passes and still get charged on my mastercard for $20.40. I call and they say they cant find my cash transaction on my room. Well the place was so crazy Im not surprised! Was told 3 different amounts for spectator passes! Heard they were $19.95, $5, and I also heard free. I paid $5 to be able to sit at a table and watch my girls at the waterpark. That is just crazy! I can see paying to actually use your waterpark, but to pay to sit and watch thats just beyond crazy!!! Needless to say we will NEVER be visiting Fort Rapids again!! Good thing we got a discounted rate for our group!!! It amazes me that you are still in business with all the negative reviews I have read.

In line and waiting for food took 82 minutes for barely edible food. Crowded, and often no tubes available so couldnt go on slides as often as we would have liked. SOme guards were fine, some were seemingly bored into a stupor. Worst, the chloramines were VERY high--the health department needs to pay a visit.

Not the best indoor waterpark in Ohio but its close to Columbus so I would randomly take the kids there on my day off every now and then staying only one night in the hotel room. The price was a bit pricey but hey the kids get to expel their extra energy built up from this horrible winter. Went in today to book a room and was told that as of Feb 22nd, the pricing went up. Ok, I expected a few more dollars but to almost double the price?! The manager on duty was right there when I was being helped and never even offered to step in and help. I feel like situation was not handled properly especially with us being regular guest and as of now, we will not be returning! I suggest trying CoCo Keys in Newark.

I am posting my experience at Fort Rapids Waterpark on every forum I can so other people dont waste their money. This is the review I posted on TripAdvisor, hoping to alert people to the dangerous conditions.I have no idea what happened to this place but it was the most disappointing day my family has had in a long time. We were excited to celebrate my daughters 12th birthday and introduce our younger sons to the waterpark. We have been to the park many times and have had a great time, no problems. We were there for an hour before the fog in the air started to claim its victims. Kids and adults alike were outside of the park with cups of water provided by the staff on the verge of puking. My fiances eyes were burning, my chest and eyes hurt, my sons lips and fingers were blue from the freezing water in the kids space, but still I was trying to have a fun time with my family. We overheard a lifeguard being asked by a mother holding her infant outside the park what was going on. The lifeguard told her that they checked the chlorine levels and they were fine so someone was checking the vents but they would evacuate if needed. Then we heard a lady say she had 12 kids in a bday party and 8 of them had thrown up. My daughter came up to me almost ready to pass out, she has allergy induced asthma, but something was triggering it and I knew we had to go. I was with 2 other families, 1 stopped at the front desk and was given passes to return another day. This made me very happy, because I knew something was wrong and we could come back and try again...We love fort rapids and had never had anything like this happen before. So I stopped on my way out to collect my passes, but was told to fill out a paper. When I tried to explain the situation, and that they had JUST given my friend passes without a problem, they got a manager, I think, who then proceeded to treat me like a 5 year old and humiliate me infront of the staff and many customers. She told me that the reason why it was so bad was because too many people were peeing in the water. Seriously. That seriously happened. Then, she told me that my daughter, who is twelve and has probably been to the water park 20 times had asthma and that was a preexisting condition and she should have never gone in the park in the first place. I guess we all had asthma that day. When I said, well, I guess we wont be back then, she shrugged and said ok.. Worst customer service ever. Made no sense, and we wont go back. Ive been trying to call to find out what her name was...i was so shocked and shaken by the rudeness I walked away stunned before thinking to get her name. Its the guy answering the phones first day and he doesnt know her name and there is no manager available now to talk to. They were supposed to call me back but no such luck. So I am sad that I cant include the name of the rude rude RUDE lady at the front desk, but that wont stop me from posting my experience on every forum I can find. Could have given me passes and continued to make money on my family and referrals over the coming years but not now. 3 of my clients work for news stations and I cant wait to alert them to the slew of negative reviews I should have read..like children getting CHEMICAL INDUCED BRONCHITIS. Recommend Fort Rapids? No way. Enjoy my money, thats the last you will get of it

Absolutely terrible. We booked a groupon for one night, and water park passes for 2 days. We called on the way there (7pm) asking what time the water park closed on Friday (9pm). We arrived at 8pm and they told us the park was closed because of the water temperature being too cold. In the morning, I called the front desk at 8:15am asking what time the water park would be open, and was informed 10am. We got breakfast and then played in the game room until the park should have opened. After asking staff about it, they said it wouldnt be open again due to the cold.In addition, half of the games in the game room were not working. Many people were complaining that their hotel room didnt have heat.I went to the front desk to ask about a refund and was informed they could not do a refund. I asked for 8 water park passes (4 for each day we were there/what we were supposed to get through Groupon). and they would not give them to us. I asked for a manager, and was informed they werent in, but were on the way in. I requested a phone call, and have never received a call or any further information.I contacted Groupon and was given $60 in groupon credit.Not a very happy customer at all.After spending over $200 for 2 meals and $200 in the game room to occupy the kids until the water park opened....I would hope they would have treated their customers better than that.

I have had by the far the WORST experience with customer service dealing with Fort Rapids waterpark!!! I had booked and paid for a room prior to my stay, as I was travelling to Columbus I recieved a notification from the bank saying my card was charged again for the room. I was told the internet booking was having some issues. Even though I never recieved a booking confirmation for the second charge, I was understanding, as the money was refunded. However because it was through banking it took 5 days to post back to my account. After our stay at Fort Rapids I was then charged ANOTHER $100! When I called I was told there was some confusion on if we had checked out (I was never told we had to physically check out at the desk & we had left an hour before checkout). I was told I would be refunded the money, which then took an additional 4 days to post to my account. My biggest frustration with their customer service though comes after all of this. I emailed to voice my concerns and was generated back a thanks for staying with us email, obviously my email was not read. So I called the park, I have now left 3 messages with the clerk whom answered at the time and 2 voicemails for the genreal manager to please call me back. I have yet to hear anything and this has been 4 weeks I have been trying to get in contact with them! It makes me wonder what if I had not disputed the two additional charges?

THE STAFF IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO RUDE. THE FOOD WAS NASTY. WHILE I STAYED THERE THE FRONT DESK HAD ME AS A CHECK OUT WHN I WAS SOPOSE TO STAY 2 NIGHT, SO THE HOUSE MEN OPENED MY DOOR AND LEFT IT AJARED WITH A TOWEL FOR OVER 2 HOURS AND MY MAC LAP TOP AND MY SONS BEAT HEAD PHONES WERE STOLEN. NOT ONE TIME DID MNGMT ADDRESS THE ISSUE. THEY SAID IT WAS OUR FAULT THAT WE LEFT OUR ROOM DOOR OPEN, BUT ADMITTED TO THE CLERICAL ERROR. THEY SAID THERE NOTHNIG THEY COULD DO. WE SPENT OVER 4 1/2 HOURS DEALING WITH THE SITUATION ON OUR OWN. WE HAD TO GET OUR KEYS REACTIVATED TO GET OUR BELONINGS SO WE CAN LEAVE. AND INFORMED THE FRONT DESK OF THIS. AND THY STILL CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD FOR THE SECOND NIGHT, AND THEY CHARGED A COMPLETLEY DIFFERENT CARD THEN WHAT I USED TO RESERVE THE ROOM. I NEVER GAVE THEM AUTH TO USE THAT CARD. WHEN I CALLED THEM TO ASK FOR A REFUND THEY SAID THEY WILL CALL ME BACK AND NEVER DID AFTER TWO DAYS OF ME CALLING THEM. FINALLY WHEN I TALK TO HEAD OF SALES, SHE SAID THAT PER MNGMNT SHE WAS NOT ALLOWED TO REFUND ME, AND ADVISED ME TO CONTACT MY BANK TO DO A CHARGE BACK. THEY REFUSE TO GIVE ME CORPERATE INFORMATION. This was my familys first trip to fort rapids. We wanted kalahari but it was all booked up for Easter so I found this place on line. looked good booked my res.. But after doing so I then saw the reviews. I was terrified after reading everything ppl had to say, I almost canceled but I had promised the kids a fun trip so I hoped to make the best of it and I am so happy we did. Fort rapids was great..Much like great wolf in a lot of ways however we found we like fort rapids better.Check in was a breeze we got there 15 min. Till four and received our hotel room keys and park bands in less then ten min... The receptionist was great and very friendly. We made our way to our room (we stayed in the Bryce canyon villa. ) The room was wonderful. I seen all the reviews about the refrigerator and microwaves not working so we opted out own bringing food with us out of fear however both were in great working order not to mention there was also a small dryer to dry your towels and swim wear, how great is that? The room in the loft was a sweet surprise to find there was a bathroom that included a nice size shower that two could use if they liked. The room smelled nice as well as the hallways UN like what I had read. I think ppl forget this is a family place there for need I say lots and lots of kids so everything is not perfec.t Kids some times have spills or put hands on walls but I seen no trace of any of this in our room. The only thing I can remotely say is in the upstairs shower you can see at the top of the wall were the wall paper may start peeling away from the wall do to the moisture.Once unpacked we headed for the restaurant to eat before heading to the water park. The service was the best I have had in a long time and that includes the fine restaurants we eat at. The food was better then expected and considering where we were I thought the prices were not bad. We were very pleased to say the lest and may I add my kids loved the deep fried green beans even the ones that dont even like green beans..On to the water park. Looked nice, no trouble at all with getting tubs or mats for the slides..I felt it was a bit cold. It feels hot when you first walk in but once your wet its cold..The water is on the cool side...but I am a small woman who has to wear a sweater or jacket in 70-80 deg weather so take that one with a grain of salt. It could just of been me. Kids loved it, loved it, loved it. was a bit crowded on sat but the wait in line for slides were not bad....my Only complant would be the hot tub. It is so small and was packed. Never got to use it...would Of been nice if the had a family one and a separate adult one like great wolf but hey you cant have it all right..LOLso if your thinking of going dont let the other reviews terrify you.....i Really do not know why ppl have left so many bad reviews.... The staff was wonderful and yes they could use a little more staff that part I will agree with. My kids ages range from 9 -12-15-17-18 and ALL HAD FUN !!! Thank you fort rapids we will be back

Do not waste your money or time going to this so called resort. The staff is so rude I could not believe it. I bought a groupon to the water park resort. The water park closes at 7:00 p.m. and they chase you out of there at 7:00 p.m. on the dot, turn all the water off and start walking behind you to make you leave. Also on the groupon they advertise an arcade, store, and two restaurants. Everything closed at 7:00 p.m. but the one restaurant (very expensive). The store did have a sign on it saying to go to the front desk and they would let you in. I am there with my 3 kids for a fun night away from home, and there is nothing to do and it is 8:00 p.m. So, we go to the front desk the lady was so rude and stood in the middle of the store with her arms crossed while we looked around. We then go back to our room, game cube is broken and pay per view no longer works. The next morning we go downstairs for the the water park, which states on the groupon will open at 10:00 a.m. for customers of the hotel and then 11:00 a.m. for none customers. They opened at 11:30, with about 20-30 people sitting in the hallway with kids waiting for it to open. Someone asked the manager whats going on and he says the life guards are running late. One last thing, in the room there is a note saying if you have any problems before you write a bad review, please call the manager first. I did this twice calling guest services, no answer. So, I call the long distance # from my cell phone, they pick up right away. When I asked for a manager the clerk laughed at me and told me to hold on, she let me sit on hold forever. I called back, not nice myself this time, finally get the manager, tell him all my complaints. He says I will look into that. That was it, not sorry for your bad stay, no explanation for everything being closed and the water park no opening when it should have. Please do not waste your money or time going to this place.
