Be sure to ask about Virgil Earp (Wyatt Earps brother). Right after the gunfight at the OK Corral, he brought his younger brothers body (Morgan Earp) home and moved into his parents home in Colton. He became Coltons 1st law marshal, and his house is still in the area. Morgans grave is in the Colton cemetery.
It is FREE! Four stars just for that. It is a fun way to kill a few hours with the family. I like looking at the old pictures and imagining what life was like a hundred years ago. The docent was friendly and knowledgeable.
Such care is taken to preserve Coltons historical roots. Dr. G is a pleasure to talk to & his enthusiasm is infectious....makes you want to know more about Coltons history.

It has been many years since I lived in colton, but one place I did go back when the city was still small was this museum, and though there are many out there that are much bigger, this covers the county and it has a nice collection.
Very, very interesting things inside here. Great collections....!
Interesting displays of local history, artifacts and memorabilia.
