This is a nice paved walking / biking path. There are multiple paths you can walk and bike. They even have restrooms on the park. There is free parking (for about 30-40) cars. A great place to do an evening stroll with lots of ducks and birds. The park is clean as well.

Scenic, quiet spot in a congested suburban area. Several loops around the lake. Variety of wildlife. Fishing allowed with the right license. Parking can get tight when busy.

Wonderful natural place to walk or ride your bike. Its all paved and stroller friendly. Lots of connecting trails if you want to bike. Everyone is being pretty respectful with wearing masks and giving distance right now. Great place to get out of the house.

This was a pleasant surprise even though it sits in the middle of a light industrial area. The history of the place is also extremely interesting and there are placards spread around the paths that offer historical briefs. If you are a bird lover, be prepared to be wowed by the variety of species. Even in November, we saw quite a large number of water fowl and forest birds. If you are visiting the UMD campus, the Lake offers a nice getaway from the crazed campus construction sites, and offers a peaceful surrounding to re-connect with loved ones.

This park is very nice. Great for a relaxing, strolling, walking, running, jogging, and biking.. The picturesque views of the lake and nature are intriguing. The sights and sounds embrace you in nature. The trail is very well maintained and offers diverse routes. There are benches along the way. There are cool fishing piers and whimsical gazebos for relaxing. Other than the occasional light rail train passing by on the west edge of the park the environment and experience is fantastic.

Beautiful natural park. Was there Sat, 8 Aug, it was not crowded between 2-3pm which was great! Lots of turtles in the lake. The most beautifully clear water Ive ever seen in a lake, especially in MD.Plenty of places to sit and enjoy the beauty of nature around you. Saw people fishing.Plenty of space to run and/or bike as well. Although some people need to know etiquette when riding so not to run people over.Signs posted at entrance for traffic to flow 1 way. Has public restroom w/ running hot water, another great plus. Definitely will try to get back out there to this beautiful hidden gem.

Very clean. Quite busy. Didnt make it fully around because old dog and felt bad about not honoring the Covid flow.Parking lot is small and with the large truck traffic I definitely wasnt considering street parking. Will try again on a cooler day and maybe early.

Beautiful park with a 1.4 mile trail surrounding a lake. Theres plenty of space to walk or bike. The spaces for a picnic are available as well but not quite as plentiful. There are spots for fishing and a ln area dedicated to monarch butterflies during their migration season. All in all, its a wonderful park!

This is a beautiful area nice for walking skating biking. People fish here I dont know how that is as I dont do that. However its not a place to gather for picnic you may be able to bring a box lunch with a couple of friends. Most of it is somewhat in shade the lake wildlife and vegetation is just lovely. Rabbits ,birds, butterflies and deer. People using the park have been very courteous. Ive never had a bad experience here. Ive been coming for several years.

Truly a place of refuge, serenity and peace! The walk around the lake is beautiful, benches strategically placed allow you to stop and take in the wonders. Parking is sometimes tight, but well worth it once you experience the lakes calming affects. Jogging, working out, bike riding and leisure walking are all present and welcomed. Go and find yourself one with nature. Oh...the Ospreys are beautiful!!!

Loop of about 2.2 miles if you do the inside island loop. Lake has connecting trails to various other trails. One side of the lake is right next to metro line.Lots of benches and bird watching spots. As i was walking with my son we saw 3 deer right on the path. Interior loop has public restrooms (very nicely maintained). The path is very heavily traveled though social distancing is being observed as is mask usage. Parking lot is large but since this is a popular place it was almost full on a Tuesday morning.

Visited 2/8/20. Place is pretty cool. You can hike, walk, bike and even fish. All trails are paved. 1.72 miles from parking lot, around the outer perimeter of the lake and back to the parking lot so one loop is easy for even the most novice walker.

Its really beautiful, so you just need to leave the park before its even dark or near it. The local police will issue you a $40.00 parking citation, whether its completely dark or not. Its located right next to the station and its something that theyre all for.

If someone likes beautiful scenario of nature in Fall do visit Lake Artemesia, the reflection of trees, sky and cloud in lake water is superb.. best of all is, no entrance fee, yes, free.. I walk and sometimes do jogging and for meditation perfect.. my kids take out their bicycles whenever I go with family.. its full of migrating ducks...Its very relaxing and soothing to go there in the evening and to witness the magnificent Sun Set.Great place to to photography of mother, Nature.when, my kids were young, they use to like and wave to the Metro Train, that passes near by on a higher level.. lots of benches to rest and talk with friends and family.. you can spot many fireflies in the evening time..Restrooms are available.. sometimes getting parking is luck especially with a nice sunny day in winters and cool breezy day in summers. Also its clean and well kept :)

The lake is beautiful! It changes with the seasons always giving lively views. One lap on the inner loop puts you over a mile. Theres just enough incline to challenge your muscles. Pavement is wide enough for walkers, bikers, skateboarders, etc. Well kept and clean. Safe.

It is a nice pond with a paved walking path around. Parking lot is very close. The park itself is buried behind the neighborhood but you can see and hear the Metro line from the park. We came to try out fishing. Though we did manage to catch a small mouth bass, it took nearly 2 hrs with barely any bites. Lovely place to walk or ride bikes/scooters, got to see a beaver eating lily pads (super cool), but not much for fishing luck.

When i was a kid this place was kept up, now it is overrun with overgrowth. Really pointless to fish here these days as well. If you are lucky youll catch maybe ONE fish out of of 10 trips here. Its good for the scenery, jogging, biking and spending time with family.

Nice place. Covid has made the trails 1-way. Air conditioning was clearly broken, though - 93F all the time we were there. Date was meh.So, +5 nice area, -1 for broken climate control, -1 for meh first date, +1 for caring about our health.I realize the two -1 categories are out of your control, but I figure someone could use a laugh. Well, a snicker. Fine, an eye roll?

This is a nice, clean park right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of College Park. It’s not hiking per se, but it is a fun place to walk and take in the beautiful outdoors. All the trails are paved and are about 10 feet wide. Perfect for walking, running, biking, or taking the dog out for a stroll.Benches line the walkways, there’s a couple of gazebos and even a fishing pier. Even a restroom with running water! The park is kept clean, and the 30-acre lake has about a mile-long loop trail going around it with awesome views. The cool thing is, these trails connect to Indian Creek Park, Paint Branch Stream Valley Park, the Paint Branch Golf Course, and many other places.I walked to the Paint Branch Trail and began my journey to Lake Artemesia from there, so I can’t comment on the parking situation others have mentioned.Contrary to another review, this place does have operating hours – it’s open daily from sunrise to sunset. If the po-po catch you here after those hours, you WILL get a ticket.Count your blessings local residents and thank your city for providing and maintaining this wonderful resource.Oh! I almost forgot, there’s at least one solar powered USB charging station for your mobile phone. How cool is that???
