Eppley is the best. I will be buying an Eppley membership after I graduate if I am living around campus. One great but little known part about Eppley is the Adventure Program behind it; they have a rock wall and bouldering area for climbing, adventure trips during weekends and some week days, and you can rent out gear for outdoor recreation at the rental desk. 10/10 would adventure again.

Beautiful facility and pool! There is a 50 meter pool that has two configurable bulkheads and a 25 meter warmup/warm down pool! The pool here is also pretty fast! Enjoyed my swim meet here!

Such a great rec center for the student Terps and family members. It truly is a first class, start of the art facility. The indoor pool is Olympic size, the basketball courts are a plenty, wait rooms are used by the best athletes and theres also and indoor jogging space.

I love this rec center its always bump on the basketball courts and if i need to work out or go for a swim then i can do that in the same building then get back to the gym and get back on the court.

I just dont like that I cant not wear shoes at the weight room, it forces me to wear certain pairs before leaving home and I havent gotten used to that yet. Its not a big deal though, I was just used to go to a gym where this wasnt a problem. Otherwise its a great place, really clean and well structured.

Great hours, open 6am to 12am weekdays. Great facilities, multiple large pools, many courts for basketball, racquetball and squash courts, and a great selection of weights and cardio equipment. There is also a 1/10 mile indoor track which is great for those who hate treadmills. Beware of a few things, badminton takes over basketball courts on weekends :( starting Friday night. Also people may accost you to use your guest passes to gain access to the gym, however this is not all that common. Overall a great gym, free to all umd students faculty and staff.

World class facility. The Olympic pool, indoor track, fronton and racquetball courts are very well maintained. Weight room is crowded in the afternoon but I guess that’s the case in other facilities too. Everything is very clean and the staff is helpful and kind. Only thing I could suggest, a monthly parking pass for one/two hours a day.

US Masters Swim UMAC - Terrapin Masters the.Club, this is a National program with which I am thoroughly impressed and delighted. This club operates within the University of Maryland sports and recreation Eppley Complex. The Assistant Acquatics Director Natalie and the program Coach Ethan are totally accommodating and organized. The participants in the Terrapin Masters are the best, they provide constant encouragement and support making me believe I can do it and if you are so disposed you can too. This center is vast, while I have only taken advantage of the Acquatics there are tons of other fitness and wellness activities and support . The place is great!

Overall a nice gym.. recent price increases for alumni members is kinda expensive $48 a month. The weight room is always too packed in afternoon and night wish they could increase the amount of equipment and space. Some small issues are that it is not required to have a gym towl in weight room so after someone you either get a sweaty machine or a wet wiped machine thats not dry. Locker keys should have a clip of safety pin to keep from losing them while working out.

Cardio stuff is great, but the lifting room is pretty bad considering how many people use it. Its way to cramped in there, when the hallways in eppley are huge. I feel like they should have made the lifting room bigger at the expense of the hallway width, but maybe fire standards prevented that

Eppley is something that we students pay for regardless of using it. It is certainly something you as a student should be using to get healthy. In terms of equipment, the weight room is roomy and has plenty of free weights that go up 2.5 lbs each up to like 100+ lbs. There are 4 bench presses free weight and 2 I think decline bench and 2 incline. There are 3 deadlift platforms, and 4 squat racks. This is the first floor. There is a staircase in this weight room that leads to a plethora of cable machines, pull up bars, assisted dip/pull up machine, Smith machine, row bar and more!If you box, kickbox, etc, then go to the matted room, there are 2 long punching bags, 2 body punching bags, 2 speed bags.
