Good selection of hard to find fish although some were in very poor condition and they dont sell a very wide selection of frozen foods for them. They sold me very poorly kept fish which I was aware of and have saved them by now but wouldnt cut me a deal after I drove 2 hours for them. Good covid protocol.

Excellent place and will never go anywhere else after my experience - I had no idea this place existed and was a first time customer. Ed personally helped me to configure an amazing, new 135 gallon tank setup with stand and canopy and was great at suggesting new fish and plants to go along with other pre existing fish, even taking some of my personal texts with questions and accommodating me through the pandemic. I’m very happy with my purchase and tank! All staff are very friendly and know their stuff. Thanks for a great experience.

This is the only place in the tri state area worth going to. Staff is unparalleled and prices are great. I highly recommend Eddies if you need help of any kind with you’re aquarium. I’d rate them a 6 if I could. Long time aquarium owner of multiple tanks have dealt with many other companies and this one is the only store I’ll do future business with. Save yourself the headache and just do what they tell you, you won’t go wrong!

My friend and I were disappointed the store was not as it used to be. It was a lot smaller than I remember, and the selection was slim and pricey. I think, in my opinion they might be concentrating on ponds more than aquariums.

Garrett helped me on Sunday, and he was extremely knowledgeable, and very helpful throughout the whole process. He was able to give me ample advice, suggestions, and answered all the questions I had. From my limited experience with the rest of the staff they are all very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I will definitely be going back for supplies and fish. I have seen many reviews saying that Eddies is pricy, however with this price you get the highest quality of service and supplies in the area. Shoutout to Garrett and Eddies you guys are the best! Would give more than 5 stars if I could!

Since the pandemic began, I was looking for a hobby to fill up the days being stuck inside. After a friend gifted me her old 30 gal curved tank, I decided to get into fishkeeping. I did some research on what kind of setup I would like and stopped into Eddies after checking out the chain pet stores and not really getting the help I wanted. I spoke with Ian, who didnt seem to mind at all that I wasnt buying anything and gave me a ton of info on live plants and how to keep them, and the importance of cycling your tank before adding fish. He also helped me understand how a canister filter works when I brought in a Penplax Cascade 1000 I got from an online garage sale, not from Eddies. After that experience, I decided Eddies was going to be my go-to. Very professional, attentive staff that know their stuff. Much more personal and reasonable pricing when put alongside the chain pet stores.They are considered an essential business, and I commend all of the staff at Eddies for their commitment and sticking to their social distancing guidelines. You ring the doorbell to get let in, they have hand sanitizer right at the front door, and you pick a number to get assistance with the live fish. A ton of selection for a mom and pop!I settled on keeping guppies with ghost shrimp, both non aggressive and get along great as tank mates. All of my fish and shrimp came from Eddies and wont come from anywhere else. My tank has been set up for about 2 months now and havent had a single one die on me yet. If you are into aquarium or pond keeping, these guys are worth the drive.Thank you Eddie Aquarium Center! Cannot recommend you enough!

Good place for aquarium only pets and supplies. Good thing is you can order or re-home fish. Unfortunately Saturdays and Sundays are impossible if you actually want to buy something. There is a tendency to get a staff member that doesnt know a lot about particular fish or questions. The veterans obviously know a lot more and will answer questions by email. You can also check what they have on theyre fish list without going there.

The. Best. Period. We have been going here for years after being referred to Eddies by a friend. The fish that are for sale are always healthy and when they have fish that are not up to their standards, they literally label the tank as such until they feel that they are healthy and ready for homes. Their bottom line isnt the $, its quality! And oh boy do they deliver! They recently added a new shrimp section with more shrimp types than Ive ever seen in one place. The prices tend to be on the high end, but the quality is worth it. It means that your fish will be off to the best start that you can get. Many of their staff have been there for years and their expertise shows. Thank you to everyone at Eddies! Well be back!

It’s a bit compact and dark, but the staff is friendly and helpful so it becomes easy to overlook the dim lighting you’ll experience in some areas.They have a great selection of Betas and they house them humanely, much better than any other place you can purchase Betas. They keep them in clean clear bowls, not the cheap dirty water plastic cups you’d see them in at Petco, PetSmart, or Walmart.We got my son a Beta about a year ago.We were able to get everything we needed to get him started here so it was quick and easy. He was a baby when we got him and he’s grown to be beautiful and healthy.

I was brought here 1 time as a kid. I was maybe 7. And ever since that day, Ive always wanted to come back, but it was too far for my parents. I came back to show my fiance the aquarium that I loved when I was younger and things spiraled from there. I saw axalotls for the first time ever and bought one the next day. Recently got into a saltwater tank. Love the options of animals they have, great service, and all around great people. However.. there saltwater tanks are LOADED with parasites. Mainly the coral tanks and the crustacean tanks. Vermid snails on almost every coral. Majano Anemones growing all over the tanks. I brought this to there attention and nothing was done about it. Just be careful with what you buy. Eye everything before you buy it. No one wants pests.

Awesome aquarium with an ethical staff. They wont sell you fish if they think youre tank isnt ready. They care about the animals they are selling. Ive been going to Eddies since I was a kid. Best aquarium in the area hands down.

They have a nice selection of marine fish, the freshwater fish seem to all be on the more aggressive side. All the fish look healthy. Some of their prices are more expensive than other local stores but most prices are less then the big box pet stores in the area.

Wonderful experience! Gotta love small specialized stores like these. I wasnt planning on buying any fish, and I didnt unwelcome as though the store was for JUST customers. The staff wasnt really all in my face about anything, I just went about my way looking at the fish in plentiful tanks.As an added bonus, there was just the cutest cat chilling outside along the border to one of their ponds. It seemed unfriendly at first but its just a cutie who loves to be pet!

I ws was at the store today and watched people browsing through the tanks i was approached by a worker and asked if i knew what I wanted i sid i ws almost readyvto chose my fish at which time i was told people could not browse it was only for enegence service only so how is it and emergency for one person to ny fish but another is asked to leave and i was the last one that cme in out of the group.so i just went rom spening a couple hundred a month on my hobby there to going to pets plus or pet smart

To say that Eddies Aquarium is the best place to go if you are in the hobby or thinking of getting into the hobby would be understatement. I have been going to Eddies for many years, in fact I remember going when the he ran the store with his dad in Menands. I have always found the selection of fish and corals to be unmatched. Yes, you can go to the big box stores to buy fish but you are not going to get the level of experience that you will receive by Eddies team. I started with freshwater about 30 years ago, with Eddie and moved into the saltwater realm about 6-7 years ago and I owe all of my success to the great staff at Eddies. His fish and coral always looks healthy and vibrant and his prices are right on par with the competition. He has a large selection of dry goods covering everything from tanks to filters and everything in between to get you started in the hobby or add to your existing setup. His staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable, to single out just one would be unfair since they all shine in what they do. I would recommend Eddies to anyone and would encourage new hobbyists to go and check him out, I promise that you will not be disappointed. I have attached a picture of my 125 gallon saltwater tank that was setup with a tank purchased at Eddies and filled with coral and fish also from Eddies.

1st time I have been to this place. They have many different types of fish from fresh water aquariums to salt water aquariums. All the fish looked healthy and the staff was very nice to answer any questions you had.

Tank setups, accessories, filtration, lighting, heaters, chemicals, aquascaping tools, etc. They have so much packed into one area and I was in heaven! Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Met the owner and he was nice and helpful. If youre into Aquaria, this is the place to go. Traveled about 3 hours just to come here and was well worth the trip!

I cannot say enough about Eddie and his crew! I have had a water feature not work right for years. Many attempts at fixing and replacing pumps etc. nothing. Eddies came in, 2 hours everything was redone and functioning like I’ve never seen before. Blown away by the workmanship and service! Thank you.

Best and one of the only saltwater aquarium stores in the area. They stock a good amount of salt and fresh water fish at average prices. Their staff seem to know their stuff well too. Just double check their prices to other online retailers some of their items are pricey but they will match online prices, I have been told. They also have a rewards program. They will order fish as you request too. I have not purchased any fish from them Yet but plan to. I have purchased an aquarium through them though.

Expansive selections in both saltwater and freshwater as well as pond services. Always have healthy fish in properly stocked tanks with proper substrates and tank mates. Love their staff and their setups. Definitely on the higher side as prices go, but you avoid a lot of common fish store issues and get a high quality and well cared for plants & fish. I have bought platies, bettas, cory catfish and dwarf gouramis from them and have had a 100% success rate. Great for just visiting as well.

I love visiting here. Sometimes we just go to look at all of the fish. The prices seem high, but they are competitive from what I have seen. They have beautiful salt water fish and are always ready to answer my questions on each fish that I may ask them.

Wonderful place. Best selection of fresh water and saltwater fish in the area. My girlfriend and I were helped by Karri today, shes amazing. Took the time to test our water, find out what we have in the tank already, discovered some errors we were making in feeding and made great recommendations on fish that would fit within our ecosystem. They really go above and beyond. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!

Stopped at Petco, Petsmart and Eddies today to look at freshwater fish. Eddies is definitely higher priced, but they take much better care of everything which should definitely ensure a successful tank! My son was thrilled to see that they carry axolotl, which he has been interested in for quite some time.

They have a lot of knowledge and good products if you can get to speak to someone. They use a number ticket system but it is not obvious when you walk in, so after waiting 15 minutes realized we needed a number, then gave up after waiting 20 more minutes.

Been going here since I was a kid at their Albany location. Now its my wife and I going for help with our team rather than me with my parents. Always helpful. Encouraging. The classes are great. The staff is always happy and friendly, and even with how busy they are, somehow manage to keep track of everyone and ask questions relating to previous visits like they work with you every single day. After a visit or two, when someone asks how your plants you bought last time, or some new filter setup, or some other detail you forgot you even talked about, you never feel like just another customer going through the door. They all know their stuff and love what they do. And its why both my wife and I love going there.

There simply is no better place to go anywhere around here. When I got into this hobby I tried all the different stores around, and to be honest most of them are just OK. Eddies has the one ingredient that no other stores seems to have figured out, PASSION!! When you go to Eddies they LOVE to talk to you about their fish, your fish, your tanks, or any issues you may be having. They are completely invested in your success in the hobby and take a personal interest in your setups. If you have an issues they will work directly with you to help you though it step by step. A special shout out to Chris and Carrie, I look for them each time I go in. As someone who comes from over a decade of retail management I know it is your staff that can make or break you. Eddie hit the gold mine with these two, they are the perfect foundation to build an all-star team on!

I would like to say my experience at eddie’s aquarium was amazing!!! They have beautiful salt water and fresh water fish!! Bought my first set of black ice clowns from here! And the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable! Also have a special shout out to karri for all her amazing help and advice! She is very sweet and knows her stuff... And is helping me stock my tank!! Any questions she answers them in full... can’t wait to get more fish and clean up crew from here!!

I wish they werent as expensive and had more fish than tanks and supplies to keep the tanks running like filters and minerals and ect. (and that the fish were in the room you walked into not a bunch of empty tanks) However they do have a good supply of beautiful fish especially salt water fish and corals and they are good about making sure the fish are healthy and well organized with prices on each tank. I wish they had more species of seahorses and eels though

Eddies was a uniquely amazing experience. As a novice fish owner, I came in with a million questions. The staff (Kenny, who I worked with) was extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and took the time to listen. I brought my 10 and 7 year old with me and they were amazed by the volume of species, and the gentleness of the staff during the multitude of childrens questions as well. All in all this is the only place I will go to for my aquarium needs and questions going forward. I highly recommend this place!!
