We went late in the season and were happy to find all of the amenities were still available. The sites were very clean and well laid out. Would highly recommend giving this site a try. The cell coverage was great with AT&T which was great. They have a library building to borrow books while you are here. They even had firewood for a donation. A very well maintained site.

Clean, safe park. Quiet although highway is within sight of camping areas. One complaint, no water hookups only electric. We had to hustle to conserve water (not a bad thing) and to make use of what time we had. Odd that you have pull throughs for RVs that hookup on the door (passenger) side but it worked. Great location for travel to Yellowstone and all things Cody, and the Bear Tooth Pass up into Montana.

This is a beautiful place to camp outside of Yellowstone, I would give it 5 stars for that alone. However, this is the first place Ive EVER been charged for day use on top of my camping fees. They also charge additional for your tow vehicle (my truck that pulls my camper) and another $25/night if you have an additional vehicle. All vehicles are charged both a day use AND a camping fee. Not to mention the additional vehicle fees are very expensive and NOT LISTED anywhere. When I made my reservation it stated additional vehicle fees must be paid onsite, cannot be included in reservation, it does not tell you what the fee will be. SO my campsite with NO electric, water or sewer was $15/night (normal fee as I would expect at any state park) then they charged me $30 for a permit for my truck which pulls my camper for the 3 night stay. On top of that they charged me $25 PER NIGHT for my Jeep as an additional vehicle which sat parked on my campsite. They do not tell you the additional vehicle fee until you are onsite and have no other option but to pay it. I have NEVER been charged more than $5/night for the additional vehicle fee and we have traveled fulltime all over the country for 2 years straight. My camping charges were $83 for 3 nights including my truck and camper which is reasonable. What is not reasonable is an ADDITIONAL $75 for 3 nights to park my jeep ON MY SITE. Why is my Jeep being charged both a day use fee and a camping fee? Ridiculous. I would advise others to call and confirm the fees prior to booking this state park as an additional $75 is not in my budget for a 3 night stay and I was not happy to lose that money unexpectedly. I would have booked a site with full hookups inside of the national park for the same price I ended up paying here for no services had I known.

All the reviews and pictures looked amazing so we went and bought a day use pass. Never have I been to a state park where the rangers knew so little about the area. We thought the pictures from the reviews were all from the same place, but apparently there are several entrances. When we bought our day use pass, we werent directed to a certain location so we entered expecting to find it. All we could find were camping spots so we returned to the ranger station and she directed us to another entrance. When we got there, he suggested we go to the entrance we just came from. When we explained we were just there and couldnt find a day use swimming area he told us we should just find a spot along the highway. So we did. It was very rocky, and when we reached the water it was very muddy. So muddy that our kids called it quicksand - one step and they sank to their calves. I suppose if you know a local who can direct you to a good spot it might be great. But dont count on the rangers to be of any assistance whatsoever.

Speaking as someone who has chosen to work here for my third summer, commuting 90 miles each workday, to do so: I love this place! The staff is awesome, very helpful, and goes beyond duty to help boaters, fishermen , swimmers, campers and general visitors have an excellent adventure. I enjoy the geology, cloudscapes and wildlife of the area. Second only to the interesting folks who actually turn off the highway to spend some time here.

Lots of wide open space between sites (important to us when traveling during COVID). Quiet and breezy/windy. Has an RV dump station. Looks like the tent sites have wind barriers (we were in an RV). Water hookup was out of order at our site. But the grounds are beautiful, kids had fun exploring the grass by the river (watch out for rattlesnakes). A very nice volunteer talked to us a bit about the local wildlife: pelicans, osprey, rattlesnakes, elk and more.

Got us in a spot when we drove up during peak season because someone just left early. Normally reservtions are required. Great people working here to accommodate. Beautiful park, awesome views and camping layout is great. We were on the North Fork.

Showers and running water were not available. Many customers upset because of not being able to shower. The excuse was Covid 19. Even though hygiene prevents the spread. Would not of come here had I known that. Otherwise, nice piece of dirt to put your tent. Park ranger was nice.

We stayed in North Fork Campground, space 53. Nice, quiet park. If you think it’s a great home base for Yellowstone, you’re wrong. We were there during the summer of COVID-19 and the RV park inside Yellowstone was closed. It was a 2.5 hour drive each way to get to the good parts of Yellowstone, which cuts your day significantly short. It may be an hour to the park gate, but Yellowstone is HUGE!The park hosts were really friendly and accommodating. They have firewood available for a donation. The RV park was super clean. Spaces paved and level. Lots of green space if you have kids or dogs. They could have put in a lot more spaces, but they didn’t. It’s a really nice place to set up camp. The spaces are in turnouts along a paved circle, so you have no real ‘neighbors’. Lots of stars. Bear in the park 2 days we were there, but we didn’t see it.Spaces are electric-only. They have a dump/water station in the park that’s easy to get to. AT&T service was fine and we could use our Firestick for TV and movies. We also have T-Mobile which shows they have coverage, but they don’t.4 stars because they water the grass every day, but no water at sites.

Nice park for adults but not for kids. We stayed at the east side campground. Nice view of lake. Warning water tastes very bad. If you dont have a good filtration system pick up water at Walmart maybe 15 min into Cody.

Absolutely love this place to get the boat on some water and fish. However, wish they would keep the walley in lake. If youre just into trout fishing there are a lot here. I troll with a deep dive walleye minnow or perch rapala.

We stayed at the North Fork CGs. Appears they dont want you to flush your black tank - threads on hose were damaged so you could not connect to it. The other CG (closer to Cody) did not even have a fitting - just the hose. They are not very flexable - can not do any changes after you check in (NONE). All of the electric sites appear to be on the inside of the loops and with the traffic pattern (one way signs) - they are drive through but your camper door opens to the road side. Expect it to be windy, with very little shade. Ok for an overnight as you are passing through, but not so good for any lengthy stay.
