WOW! What a great place to visit! Plan more than one day if you want to explore it all. This is a really fun place to see how the West was won. A lot of great history and the exhibits are very well described and the entire museum is very well laid out. A great place for the whole family.

I am very sorry to say I am incredibly disappointed in this museums choice of staff.. the harassment I received on my visit there with some friends who were members was disturbing and disrespectful in the extreme.I am not for forced mask wearing and do not like the lack of understanding that I received. There was plenty of room for us to remain 6 feet apart if necessary and I had a drink I was trying to drink. I was rudely spoken to and followed around. I will never return to this museum unless said behavior is corrected and the public is allowed to speak clearly and the staff and workers at the Cody Museum understand the difference between a Law and Mandate. It is illegal to try to enforce something that is NOT a law and therefore a REQUEST to the public if they find they find it necessary for their safety. The disrespect shown to the public that pays to make your museum possible is completely disgusting and you should be embarrassed. I pray for better service and hope I can come back in the future and leave a different review. At this point I’m disgusted and never plan on returning. Thank you, but thank you for nothing!

We were in Cody to visit friends at the beginning of our 9 week journey camping around the country. We spent one day visiting the museum with our friend. There are 5 museums here each totalling a football field sized space. We visited 3 of the museums and were exhausted! You can even have a nice lunch inside the museum which we did.Well have to make another trip to Cody to see the rest of the museum (your pass is good for two or three days so you can see everything). We highly recommend visiting the Buffalo Bill Center of the West when you are in Cody!

The place is quite large inside but what I love about it is that you can do it in a day, or you can do it in 2 days (your pass is good for 2 days regardless). Being that I was only in town for a day and a half, I dedicated most of 1 day (hours were from 8am - 5pm) to the museum and felt that I got everything I needed from all 5 exhibits. The raptor show was also neat, especially if you have kids (and it’s free). Also my souvenir mug from the gift shop was only $5 and it’s good quality so that made the museum even better!

So Im very skeptical of what can be seen as a tourist trap. And this can definitely be considered that, however this was hands down the best tourist trap Ive ever been in. 5 museums in one building, a meet the raptors show which was very cool to see some birds of prey up close that were being taken care of by the place. Your ticket is good for two days and you could easily spend two days here. The gun museum alone could take an entire day for anyone whos an aficionado. They offered masks if you didnt have one and hand sanitizer all over.

These five connected museums are the equal of any place in any major city - maybe superior to a lot of them. There arent enough superlatives to describe the quality of the collections, the presentations, or even the informed staff. I walked in at 9am and didnt stop looking until the 4:30 announcement that the place was closing in half an hour... a second day would have been better to catch everything. I liked it so much I joined; maybe that will help bring me back to Wyoming!

Wow, this place should take you a full day and you could spend two days if you really looked at everything carefully.Absolutely one of the best museum type outfits you will ever go into, especially if youre into the West5 museums in one! The Firearms Museum alone is worth the price of admission and you will go gun blind and become numb to all the amazingly cleaned up and displayed firearms in this Museumalthough they only claim to display less than 1/3 of the total collection whats on display is more than I probably seen in all the different museums Ive been to put together, Ive never seen so many perfect condition firearms in one place! If the Acres of glass display cases and wall cases Arent Enough, throughout the museum there are drawers you can pull out that have even more displayed and labeled firearms. The Wild Bill Cody Museum is also well worth the time, the old black-and-white videos of the original show are more than amazing and would be well-attended if you could actually put on this kind of Extravaganza today. With all the rules regulations I dont think you could possibly put this kind of show on in todays world. The history of Buffalo Bill the American Road show ,the International Road Show and all the amazing things that were accomplished, is far more than I ever imagined and well worth the read and the time. There is also a natural history museum with dinosaurs and a plains Indian museumPlan a day or more if you can spare it as there is lots and lots and lots to see here

This museum is outstanding! There is the history of Wild Bill Cody, an impressive studio where you can watch leather smiths make saddles, a wonderful display of guns and the history behind them, and a wonderful section on Native American art, culture, history and beliefs. There is also a cafeteria, coffeehouse and gift shop. Adult ticket is $19.75(but that is for a 2 day admission). Kids 5 and under are free.

This is one great museum. Smithsonian quality displays for adults and children alike. Plenty of interactive stations for children of all ages. The firearm museum has over 7,000 guns and does a great job at showing innovation from the 17th century onward. Make sure to check out the natural history museum, Indians of the plains museum, and the buffalo bill museum; All fascinating. Real food, not just snacks, is available in the cafeteria, the gift shop is expensive but has some cool items.

Every time I go here, I see things I didnt see the last time. This time my friend was more interested in the guns. So many beautiful inlaid barrels , and stocks. Theyve got many guns set up so the children can practice firing them. I tried them all out! So many historical guns that were made even before we could call them guns, more like Canons. I learned so much. The outdoor presentation of the birds was very enlightening. I really love the Cody Museum

I am a natural skeptic of tourist attractions, but this museum is a first class exhibit. Its a must stop if you pass through Cody. Wish I had more time. The Western art collection remains the real treasure of this center. Bit theres something for everyone.Located on a highly visible corner, and you will find adequate parking. This is a fabulous museum, which is actually multiple museums within one big building. If you are a gun enthusiast you will be in heaven. This is a huge collection. There is also a snack bar and tables, so you can take rest if needed. The Buffalo Bill section is very interesting, the art section has some great painting from several different artists. Kids, and adults as well, can learn about nature in the natural history area. Highly recommend stopping here. You can even get your ticket dated and come back to finish your tour on another day if it is too much to do in one day, which it really is.
