Great stop for visitors looking for some historical places to hit. We learned quite a bit about the archaeological history of Brevard County and there were many displays of fossils and other types of archaeological discoveries. Some of the displays were representative of educational buildings, tools and furniture explaining how the conditions were during the 1800s. Check it out, if you need a short time killer. The museum is not huge and only takes about 45 minutes to an hour to tour. Staff was extremely nice and theres a small gift shop as well. Prices are inexpensive and are going to a good cause. We had a nice time and they had GREAT air conditioning on a hot day!

Its small but professionally set up and educational. It has an informal, friendly feel and is kid friendly. Its all about Florida; its history, whats happened here, and how you can learn more. History, science, archeology, space, the sea and more with friendly docents to guide your tour.

Nice small museum with many different exhibits including a large Shell collection, Ice Age fossils, Florida Citrus Industry, Florida Pioneer History, Florida Cracker Culture and a fascinating exhibit of findings from the Windover Dig (which includes a piece of the oldest woven fabric ever discovered in the Western Hemisphere). There is also a lovely little butterfly garden.

Very well maintained museum with a smartly assembled segment on Hubble. I actually learned a lot about Floridas history and the indigenous tribes that lived throughout the state. The trails behind the museum were also a nice treat. The staff were very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Id recommend the Brevard Museum of History and Natural Science to any history and science lover.

We went here because of the Windover Archaeological Site Exhibit. It was very interesting, and the rest was pretty much icing on the cake. Its a smallish museum, so there are some gaps in the timeline, but all of the prehistory stuff is great. There are some wonderful fossil replicas, and a fantastic shell collection. The staff was very nice and the bathrooms were clean.

This museum is very oddly placed but full of local findings and amazing exhibits! The only bad thing is the impossible price. They don’t get very many visitors so it’s understandable why it’s so high but for us locals it is by far too pricey

Had a day off to kill. This was my second visit with a 5 year break in-between. Had a great time. Learned so much about the county. Was especially intrigued by both the Windover woman and the pre-1900 cracker life. Our forebears were certainly a lot tougher than us, to be sure. The daily stress of foraging for food, and at the same time not becoming a meal yourself, was indeed survival of the fittest at its zenith. Todays snowflakes should give it a visit.

This museum is a must experience!! Staff is super friendly and well educated. I spent over three hours here with my little ones ages 10, 6 and 3. It is absolutely top notch. The exhibits are fanstastic. There is a playroom for kids fully equipped with tree house legos Dinosaurs and a rocket ship they can sit in ... it doesn’t get any better than this! They have real mammoth fossil and tooth in a hands on exhibit that you can touch feel and experience . A space section , a pinoneer exhibit lots of super cool stuff if your into history and Florida history. Most important the miraculous Windover bog people exhibit . Loaded with some hands on exhibit as well as beautiful well presented windover artifacts, photos from the actual dig from the 80s, and a very cool exhibit showing how the bog tribe buried their loved ones. The story is absolutely mind blowing you must check it out go to you tube search “ brain diggers “ for a great documentary covering this. You can also purchase the book written on the archeological info and site filled with pictures and tons of info - a must have for all history lovers!
