I was absolutely shocked when I read some of the negative reviews for this place! My wife and I have shopped here for fish & plants for over a year now, we have had the pleasure of dealing with Brian, Mike, Zach, and Conner each multiple times, and weve never experienced anything but the best help & advice they could offer.In the past year, their business has grown substantially. The store was a little cramped and very busy at times, but theyve been hard at work and are making changes to accommodate the increase in foot traffic. I have had a better survival rate with fish from here than anywhere else Ive tried, and the quality & health of their freshwater plants is superb. When we get to the store on a slow day, we are greeted with friendly conversation and legitimate concern for the needs of our underwater ecosystem. On busy days, we sometimes have to wait a while, but once its our turn we always have our needs attended to in a friendly, professional manner.I have not bred/raised/kept reptiles in over a decade, but Conner is still always happy to chat with me about snakes and lizards while Im there if hes not busy with other customers. I read negative reviews about the reptiles, but I feel like theyre all written by people who have never WORKED in the reptile industry. Sand is a common substrate for lizards. Snakes, particularly young ones, cohabitate. Also, reptiles can get sick and / or die suddenly, especially young snakes and lizards after a sudden change in environment. I have never, in my life, been reimbursed for a reptile who fell ill or died shortly after purchase. It just happens sometimes, and its not fun, but its a part of owning reptiles. You can pay more $ for a larger adult snake or lizard and have much better odds, but thats why baby reptiles are cheaper. Also, in my experience, it is best to assume that everything in a local pet store is being sold as-is, without any guarantee unless warranteed by the manufacturer. As a rule, I always ask about return & refund policies BEFORE purchase.With that, Ill stop my rant and just say, if you havent been here before, try them out. If youve had a negative experience, consider giving them another shot. If you dont want to deal with a crowd, call them and ask when their slowest times are, and try to stop by then. Ive had such good experiences each and every time Ive been here, and everything weve ever bought was well worth the money spent.Aquatic Pets is my first stop for anything aquarium related, and if I ever get back in the reptile game, Im going straight there for everything I need.

Gave me the confidence and additional info a Google search couldnt supply. The staff member listened to my tank specs and made recommendations for aquarium plants that would thrive in my tank. The staff member I worked with was instrumental in me finally committing to a sand substrate.

Don’t get me wrong they have cool stuff for your reptiles , but if you get a snake from here please start feeding right away. All snakes are under weight and kept in too small of a tank with multiple other snakes . Discovered a boa and ball python dead inside as well

If I could give less stars I would. I was initially hopeful to see the store and considering purchasing a reptile from there. But after entering I know there is a lot wrong here.To start off.Sand is NOT a suitable substrate for leopard geckos and bearded dragons.It WILL cause impaction, which is when an animal ingests sand and it fills and clogs their digestive system, it is only noticeable when it is too late.ALL Of the leopard geckos we saw are FAR to skinny, a leopard gecko should have a fat and happy tail, but these were thin as a bearded dragons.THERE WERE 50 TORTISES In a small enclosure, most unmoving, lethargic, or deceased.All of the Ball pythons were in far to small of an enclosure, even for a temporary one, All of them were skinny and emaciated, on the verge of death.As well they house the spider ball python morph, which is known to have dangerous neurological issues, that can cause a wobble head, corkscrewing, and even self striking. Not to mention these spider balls were housed together.While they had high quality supplies their reptiles were in a terrible state and clearly suffering. I had to just leave before I started and argument, something is wrong with this place. PLEASE DONT SHOP HERE UNTIL THEY IMPROVE CONDITIONS.

This place is exquisite. Aquariums, enclosures, habitats, Fishes, reptiles, food. All in one place. They even sell the Dubia Roaches for your beloved reptiles. The owner is great, the employees are professional and courteous. They know what theyre doing, they will answer all your questions and make you feel comfortable about owning a pet. Prices are reasonable and theyre locally owned. Theyre open during COVID-19. Go and support a Local Business.

Lots of items packed into a small space. Lots of supplies and great looking live stock. Store has lots of tanks thru out space so take your time to look around. They have a great selection of coral for sale. Enjoy

Went I went it was pretty crowded and cramped, and it didnt smell great. They were also housing some snakes together, which is far from ideal. They seemed to know their aquarium stuff really well, though, and have good selection in that area.

The owner is very knowledgeable and honest. Has a great sense of humor and makes building your salt water tank a fun experience. Always willing to help during your purchase and far after your purchase for any needs. If you need salt water fish, tanks, or accessories they are the place to go. Lifetime customer!

The owner of this place is fantastic! He is very knowledgeable and a good person. He takes the time to explain what is right from wrong. I always need advice, and he always happily gives it to me. Never going there again. Went to pick up a feeder mouse for my snake we bought there a week prior and the dude didn’t remember us. It seems like he doesn’t have a friendly attitude unless you are there to buy a lot. This wouldn’t of been bad if my snake hadn’t died a month after getting him from IBD(disease spread through other snakes). He had no contact with any snake except the ones at the store. Ball Pythons need hides and room to be alone from other snakes but theirs are in a small tank with no hide or room to roam around.

Let me start by saying that my wife LOVED this store. Notice that I used that word in a past tense form. The owner and the help that the owner chooses to utilize to run his store is, let me put this nicely, unprofessional. I won’t even touch on that we’ve spent hundreds of dollars on salt water fish from this place, that seem to have a consistent 35-40% mortality rate, because that’s not what this review is about (future purchasers can find that out on their own). Unprofessional is the term I chose to use, the reason being, let me explain. I have a fear of snakes. I understand that their snakes are in cages. I also understand that they value snakes as their family members. I feel that it’s not too much to ask, when I asked MULTIPLE TIMES, to please not joke around about a snake being out loose in the shop. After the last (and I assure you, final) incident, my wife attempted to explain to the owner why we will no longer be shopping at his store, due to his employee repeatedly stating that a snake was out of its cage. In return, she received an ancestry lesson about reptiles (because that was the point, right). I understand that many people might read this review and blow it off, saying that it is a fish AND REPTILE store. This review isn’t for you ;-) It’s for the person who will ask for their fears as a paying customer to be blatantly disrespected. I’m willing to drive to the ocean to retrieve my own salt water fish before I spend another dollar at this place again. Poor management. Poor human behavior. Fill the moat with alligators and snakes, your snakes, thanks!! #Trump2024

Great store guy behind counter was helpful and friendly

The fish seem pretty alright, but there is something wrong with their reptile corner. Before you even walk in there is this smell, and its not your typical snake/lizard smell. Its more like maybe something has died but no one has taken care of it yet. Not only that but their poor pastel ball pythons face (around mouth/ eyes) seemed Wet/shiny. As someone with multiple ball pythons, thats not normal. Another thing that creeped my boyfriend and I out was there is a frozen ball python in their freezer located in the middle of their shop. Place just gave off really bad vibes for their reptiles and I would never suggest anyone buy from them.

This place is cool with the selection of fish they have. However they should only stick to fish , their reptiles do not seem to be in good care as their conditions are not fine. Their leopard geckos only have one hide and are in sand. As well as the bearded dragons. Their snakes do not look healthy. Their chameleon cages look dry and the chameleons dont look healthy either. They need some serious upgrading to the info they are getting on how to properly care for these animals. Along with their dying bettas. Considering this isnt a chain pet store you would think theyd know better and set a better example for the public.

Love taking my kids here even if we don’t buy anything!But.... this is the only place I like to goto for fishes!! If I get them anywhere else they just die, the owner is always giving me great advice even when it’s just for the simplest little fish.We want to buy a snack soon and this is where we will be going!!

The owner and his family are extremely knowledgeable and have a great sense of humor! We purchased a coral tank set up from them. We couldn’t be happier with our purchase and the communication with all needs of the tank and fish.

Zach is super helpful. I inherited a running 72 gallon bowfront with fish and coral and they provided me with not only what I needed but background info that you cant find from buying online. Never had a problem with Live fish either! Highly recommend.

Finally a place where you can get everything your reptile needs, without being robbed. Since most of the reptile places closed down, owners have had to dig deep even for feeders. Not only is this place fair for pricing, but they also offer lay away on big items. There are great sales, and the owner always tries to do right by the animals & and then the customers. (Which is the proper order)Recently I switched to buying feeders from here, and Im now saving $16 dollars a week . Also I special ordered a custom 120 gal for my Savannah Monitor, and I got a great price/product.USE THESE GUYS!

My husband and I love this place. We buy all our reptile supplies from here and the staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. If you are looking for fish, snakes, small reptiles this is the place to go!

Caution when buying live pets, great store for supplies but they do not offer any warranty on living pets and many are very over priced. Many other vendors have better prices and will warranty purchases for a week or two. I had one fish die in an established tank one day after getting home but no exchange or return could be done.

Very knowledgeable staff and very down to earth people all around. Ive had smaller fishes before and now I wanted to have a proper fish tank set up. The staff informed me of their products and chose the items best suited for MY needs/set up. I would highly recommend this store to both new and experienced fish owners.

Aquatic Pets is the best aquarium store in the Fresno area without A doubt! The owner, Bryan, is super knowledgeable and he was a great help getting our aquarium running properly. We could not have asked for a better experience in setting up our aquarium. Their selection of saltwater fish and coral is absolutely amazing and they now even carry freshwater fish too!My daughter wanted an aquatic turtle, so we also set up a tank for her and Bryan even gave us the turtles and the turtle food for free! This place has an extremely large selection of fish and supplies and we have gone here for years buying for our saltwater tanks. We spend at least $100 a month at the store. Unfortunately this is the second time that we have purchased multiple fish and had one die out of the multiple within a week. I would not mind that so much except when I come back with a water sample that they test and say its perfectly fine they still will not take any responsibility for the immediate death of the fish nor will they discount a replacement. I completely understand that a large amount of saltwater fish stores will not provide any guarantee on their live animals but not working with your customers even a little is just no way to keep regular customers IMO. We will use 7 Seas from now on. They have a smaller selection and are a bit more pricey but the owner is very personable and concerned about his customers.

Went in for rat feeder, the rats were fine. Theyre just expensive. 10$ for two small rats. At whities pet shop, you can get two small rat for 6$.

I went to the store and bought a full turtle tank set up. They sold me a used pump for a discounted price. However, after multiple times of the pump failing and falling apart I called the store and the owner Brian asked me to come back and he would take care of it. When I got there he looked at the pump and gave me a new one at no extra cost! What great customer service!! We will continue to go there for all our turtles needs.

HORRIBLE! After pricing medium sized terrariums, for my corn snake, at other establishments, (Whities pets and Steve’s pets in Oakhurst), I found this business was charging more than twice as much. When I asked a young employee for assistance which included answering my questions regarding their On-line ads for a ‘blowout’ sales on terrariums, he just looked at me with an annoyed stare and didn’t offer to give an answer or to find an answer. I finally told the employee I will look around for myself. I finally just left and bought my reptile supplies somewhere else.
