Nice find. Stopped off here, mid road trip, and was glad we did. Enough informative exhibits for adults, and interactive exhibits for kids. Staff super friendly.

Holy cow, better plan at least 2 hours to get the full experience here. So so much history. The host kept checking on us to answer questions, and the retired gent in the saw room is very passionate about his shop, which really adds to the experience. They both are locals and had other tidbits to share about their community and other places if interest. We will try to go back, we missed about 1/3 of the exhibits.

Excellent place to stop. Did not realize that Clinton played such a roll in the lumber industry. Thought maybe 15-20 minutes to go through, was in there for over an hour. $6 for adults, stop by if you have time.

What a find! This museum completely surpassed any expectations I could have had. To find that Clinton was the sawmill capital of the U.S. at one time . Very interactive museum for kids and adults alike.

What a great hidden gem! My wife and I were visiting family in Port Byron when we found the sawmill museum. Theres a great mix of items for adults and children. You could tell that they invested in quality exhibits. We loved the water exhibit, the interactive log raft, and the animatronic lumber barons (which were so realistic as to be borderline creepy! Lol) we spent a solid two hours there, and will probably visit again!

This is a small museum that showcases the sawmill industry in the area. There is an entrance fee. Most of the museum is designed for children, but they have good information for the adults as well. The people who run the museum are really nice. My favorite part were these 4 talking heads who share the history.

Enjoyed out groups tour thru the museum. Lots of rich history of the clinton area saw mills and business. Enjoyed looking at the different machines to pictures of the old rafts ect. Over that they had different areas for the kids to interact and play with things. They have a water table that the kids can close gates ect and float down boats and logs. Great place to visit for a few hours. I would recommend checking it out.

A GREAT place to visit and a perfect size room for my Exelon QCIC off-site meeting. The staff accommodated our nearly 50 person team well and we also gained a great local history lesson. The volunteers demonstrated the task of using their sawmill as my team observed in awe. It was a great day and we enjoyed ourselves there. Thank you Sawmill Museum staff for a wonderful day!!

Great and educative venue if youre interested in the history of Clintons economic uprise - and downfall. And an excellent example what happens if economic interests disregard sustainability: Once the forests in the midwest were depleted, the sawmills had to close, thousands of people were laid off, and the money just moved on to the next ventures.
