This is a craft cooperative that features local artists. Theres pottery, baskets, weaving, stained glass, paintings and photography. Too many items to list them all. The shop is staffed by the artists, so its interesting to drop in and see who is working on any given day. You can find out about that persons artwork and meet some great people. Classes are offered as well. Theres studio space downstairs where the potters and weavers work. A big bonus is a free craft kit library on the front porch. This is similar in concept to the Little Free Libraries, except theres craft kits that are donated by the artists of the co-op. Worth stopping by! The artists change their inventory often so theres always something new to see.

What a wonderful little shop. There are many artisans that contribute so there is a large variety of items. Absolutely beautiful work. They also have classes to teach some of the art techniques, which I would definitely do if I lived nearby. I also felt like the prices are very reasonable for the amount of work that goes into them. The staff were very friendly and helpful also. I will definitely go again when I go visit my sister.

I came here on the way back from a vacation and it was really nice. The lady working there was really nice and helped me pick out a gift for my mom. It was a little expensive but worth the price. My mom loved her gift.

Make sure you try the restaurant, the food was simple, delicious and very very reasonable. It was a cold rainy day, so we didnt tour the museum. The gift shop and lunch by the fire, kept us busy for almost two hours.

The craft center provides gallery space for members who have gone through a juring process to be able to show their art and craft works. A number of member artists also offer classes at the center. Class fees and sale prices for exhibited work are what you would expect and in line with others offered in this area. The gallery is directly across from the Museum of Appalachia.
