The Asian Lantern Festival is an amazing event being organized at Zoo location. The night lights make the visits memorable, complete zoo is decorated with beautiful structures ornamented with colourful lights. The dinosaurs with lights gives a realistic feel articulated with sound effects. Even the night shows conducted at 9:45pm was an additional talented show, which added more to the overall audience.

It was very fun at this zoo. There were many things to see at this amazing zoo such as giraffes that you get to feed tigers, lions. Wonderful gift shop. My favorite part was the elephants. The gorillas were cool too. I would love to go back here again. The dinosaur exhibit was also wonderful. There was also a McDonald’s and Pizza Hut. Great for kids.

Entertaining and an experiential spot. Liked Lion, Elephants, Zebra, Rhino, Golden Monkey, Kangaroos, Flamingo etc. It has a boardwalk to primates, cats etc which is super cool, maples all along the walk. Train ride was fun, we were able to see Kangaroos. Decoration on Asian theme was fabulous. There are resting benches, cafes, ice cream parlor at many places. Waterfowl Lake is nice.

The lights are amazing! One of my favorite trips to the zoo! Each year I said I wanted to see the lights at Christmas and I finally made the time to go. It was worth it. I wish I had gone those other times that I wanted to. This might be an annual thing for me and my friend as long as Cleveland will continue to put on the show. Everyone was safe with their masks on and sanitizing, which made for strange photos throughout but still worth it.

Did the Christmas lights event. Overall, kids enjoyed it. Some very cool displays. Price was a little steep at $22 per person over 2. Got to see Santa, although his picture taking elf was a little more like the grinch. Only a handful if animals, but that was expected due to the cold weather. Lots of food and drink options but expect to pay special event prices. Staff was very strict on mask wearing, even when taking family pics in isolated areas.

Very nice park, map is helpful but the routes couldve been marked better. We seen the entire park in 5 hours walking with teenagers and older people. Most definitely can see the entire park in 1 day and have time to stop and see all the sights. Plenty of areas to rest. Be smart, pack a cooler and bring a wagon! Save yourself, lots of hills.-1 star for prices of things, poor directions without map and the fact that 10% of the attractions were unavailable. But I believe that is Covid related.

The zoo has always been a great get away, as a child and as an adult. The Asian Lantern displays are great to see, as you are walking through the zoo. Walking at night is the best.My kids especially enjoyed the acrobatic show, at the amphitheatre. Juggling, plate spinning, jumping through hoops, etc... We watched it 2x because they had a few acts that changed through the night. It saddens me that we dont live as close to the zoo as we used to. We went all the time.

A nice zoo. Considering Covid it was nice to be able to just walk around and see some things. Lots of areas closed, lots if paths closed off and many animals off exhibit. But it was a pretty nice zoo. Animal enclosures were not near and well thought out or well done as Cincinnati or St Louis but we would visit here again. The did not take out reciprocal membership, but with Covid the animals need food so we didnt mind too much.

Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is always a fun day. Ive been going nearly every year for about 30 years. If youre reading this in 2020 (currently fall), be prepared for some of the exhibits to be closed due to risk of Covid exposure for the animals. The tram is out of service at this point for the same reason. The hill or ramp to the aquarium can be a haul for little kids.In fall 2020 there is also a baby koala, which was fun and different. The elephant encounter is a standout experience, as are the wolves, primates/aquarium, and giraffes. That said, theres nothing that isnt worth your time. It just depends on what is your favorite, and where you want to stop and enjoy!

All in all I think you guys did an excellent job and opening today and everyone maintaining their distance.I do have a complaint with the store director for the gift shop.  I was in the park today and as I was leaving, I wanted to go to gift shop.  There is not an entrance to it from inside the park. I asked the ticket people how do I access it and they said to follow the yellow rope and there will be an opening to get to gift shop.  However, you have to walk not only in front of the people coming into the park but you have to walk in front of the familys getting their picture taken. Once I got to the door I waited with another lady in which she just climbed the rope at the door for 5 minutes.  There was no associate at the door waiting.  Check the tapes (between 1:45 to 2:40pm). The one lady went in then I was going to and the store Director told me . .. I needed to go to the end of the line because I wasnt where I was suppose to be in the line. ... First, if she was waiting at the door she could have told me then.  when I first got at door it was just me and another lady. Maybe put some signs by the yellow opening directing people to get to gift shop or someway get to it from inside the park.. Very disappointed in the professionalism in a Store Director at how she handled the situation. Even when I explained the situation in how the employees directed me to go this way, she dismissed me and told me to go to the end of the line which had several people in by now.   I wait and wait get up front address the situation with her only for her to dismiss me again and say its our first day open and at least the gift shop is open. From one Store Director to another. She might need some more training in the people skills area. Very disappointed and I wont be back.Very nice job in the Park though.

Hands down, by far the best zoo I have been to this far along my zoo adventures! It exceeded my expectations and then some! I drove 3 and a half hours to get there and they surely did not disappoint. The Cleveland Zoo literally took my breath away! They have such a variety of animals it’s hard not to take multiple trips to each enclosure in one day. You can tell all the animals are very well taken care of. The enclosures are huge for the animals and very well adapted for the type of terrain they live in this wild. The grounds were well kept and the staff was amazing! There are not enough good things I can say about the Cleveland Zoo. I can’t wait to visit again and am already planning my next trip.

What a huge disappointment this zoo was. Travelled 2 hours to see it for my 50th birthday. I realize with covid a lot of things changed, but I really felt that almost all of the enclosures were too small. No staff was around anywhere except where you first come in. No one to ask questions to or help guide you. Tripping hazards everywhere. I sprained my ankle in a pothole on one of the walking paths and split my knee open. No one around to help. Sent my kids to the concession stand for first aid. They had nothing. Had to wait for someone to drive up to help. I only got to speak to the medic who attended to my wounds. Paid full price for admission and couldnt even see the rainforest. Not one staff member inside the aquarium for guidance. No one tending to the animals. Overall it wasnt worth the trip. The lantern festival a great time with kids, very beautiful displays, all covid measures taken, staff was friendly, food was nice, dropped $50 on stuffed animals, had great pictures, mostly clean environment along the paths/shops. There were a lot of displays for this event, and it was just the right amount of guests (not overly crowded). But, I found it very disturbing that most animals were excluded to mostly one per exhibit looking lonely and sad, and each one behaved with high anxiety or severe depression. There was a tremendous amount of work done on plants and care of the land/shops around the zoo, over the actual “enclosures” land. Very little grass for most. The only two black bears looked tranquilized or dead with their eyes open. The two grizzlys were slumped over rocks starring at the crowd, never moved. Their water was black and sewage looking. The rhino, tiger, and snow leopard were pacing non stop. The lion was crying loud like a sobbing sad house cat and it never stopped as it echoed the area. From what I’m told (all day everyday, weeks on end now) Their enclosures are somewhat small, and they deserve more. There were hundreds of staff members standing everywhere with no real purpose as the lantern event has little service needed.. Maybe the money being spent on elaborate plant displays and over staffing should be used to give the animals better interactive environments With lots of greenery . Always been a fan of the zoo but these animals looked sad. The tiger really turned our stomachs. I hope changes are made.

Im not originally from Cleveland, or even Ohio. Ive visited many other zoos, and they were nice. They all seemed to nickel and dime you. Heres an interactive exhibit, $2 please, here is a special view for this animal, $5 please. The CMZ isnt like that. Sure there is a 4D movie theater, a carousel for kids, and an interactive rainforest, but these are big things, not small exhibits that tug at your wallet. The zoo is huge, its always clean, its built into a local metro park and its sure to fill 2+ hours easy of your day. CRUISE THE ZOO WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!!!! I’ve been going to the Cleveland Zoo for over 30 years and this was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. We are zoo members and love the zoo. Not being able to go due to Covid was one of the things we were really missing. This was my wife and sons first time out of the house in two months. We were really excited to do something family friendly and safe. I totally expected the line to be miles long just to get in but it wasn’t. We hardly waited at all. We were greeted by friendly employees and they were so genuinely appreciative of us being there. Our only child is two so we were not sure if it would be enough to keep his attention but he did really well except for the couple of against the rules horn honks. They had streaming audio to listen to and a plywood cutouts for a scavenger hunt. In the areas between exhibits they had Disney Princess Actors and Captain America. We saw an owl, a tiger, bears, reindeer, a leopard, giraffes, flamingos, elephants and kangaroos. They even had pull off areas for food and beverages. This was such a great concept and we thought it was really cool to drive around the zoo. I read that the zoo will be extended our membership for the time they will be closed. If this is the case we will be donating the amount of our membership back. I hope others do the same and that you didn’t miss the amazing opportunity.
