The Cleveland History Center is the other big collection in the Western Reserve Historical Society museum. The center features 2 main houses that displays many of the periodical pieces typical for a wealthy family that lived in Cleveland. Although all pieces are implicitly no touch, most of the exhibits are not fenced off like other collections of this type. You can really get up close and see the intricate details for all the individual pieces that are displayed. For example, the medicine cabinet in one of the bathrooms was filled with odd bottles clearly sold by medicine men. There is also a rotating exhibition area that changes frequently. Although its possible to do self-guided tour through the collection, its probably best to get a guided tour as most exhibited items do not have a descriptive plaque.

A very great place to visit. It has beautiful pieces of history. Be sure to see the large Chief Wahoo. Also be sure to get some Euclid Beach Whip Treat and ride the beautifully and masterfully restored Euclid Beach Park Grand Carousel. Truly an amazing place.

This is a well maintained and family friendly museum with plenty of stuff for kids. The working carousel is a fun piece of interactive history. The auto and aviation section has some great pieces. Depending on your interest, this museum is engaging for a few hours, but for cutting edge innovation try one of the other museums around the block.

The recording of culture is history;but our culture is more than that. Its the world of human action, and the myths we make of the fact.--David SmithWhite
