I love that they take risks with the shows that they pick. I get to see things that you normally don’t see outside of NYC. The actors are always top rate and the place is so small that there’s not a bad seat in the house. I’m always surprised that they don’t sell out every single performance.

What a great little place! I like that they do stuff that is proactive, but it isnt a bunch of artsy-fartsy people that think throwing nickles into a dryer is theater. The space is intimate, you should try to sit in the middle section.

Ive attended multiple shows at Dobama Theatre in the past year, and I am never disappointed. Its truly Clevelands Off-Broadway Theatre, producing high-quality work for EVERYONE to enjoy. Im an artist who doesnt didnt really like live theatre (sad, I know), but that perception shifted every time I went to a Dobama show. The audiences are of all ages too.I even did a class project on the theatre because I wanted to do a bit more research on the company, and from what I learned and observed, Im highly impressed. KUDOS.

I was so impressed with the production of the play Skeleton Crew at Dobama theater. Tonight was my first time attending a production at this local professional theater, but you can be sure that I will be attending as many future shows as I can!

Amazing! We saw the Ella Enchanted Musical and it was absolutely top notch!! The cast is so so talented and were really friendly when we met them after the play. The theatre itself is very clean and cute. We definitely will be keeping our eyes open for the next upcoming productions. Thank you Dobama Theatre for fostering the wonderful art of theatre and creating wonderful productions for the public.

Dobama is Clevelands off Broadway theater. It started 60 years ago is a basement space in a small shopping district. They show many new and experimental plays. The plays are always thought-provoking. Actors are mostly local talent good enough for this professional theater

Top notch equity theater! Sunrise Baby is a compelling story. The show moves well. Great use of projections and sound. Surprising at several points. Glad Ive got a Dobama membership. Really looking forward to seeing what comes next too!

Play - Skeleton Crew the Best!!

I travel to Cleveland every December to visit with family, and I always buy tickets to Dobamas holiday show. Its different every year, and my family always has a good time. Its an intimate theater on Lee Road, close to a variety of restaurants. I enjoy small theaters, and this is a good small theater.

Five stars for ON THE GRILL. I saw this play tonight at the Dobama Theater and would highly recommend it to everyone. Everything about the show was very professional and very authentic.The props, sets and costumes made me feel I wasactually celebrating Independence Day with the family and their friends.The actors were each suited to the roles they played and made the characters come alive.There is only one thing I would change and that is the color of the beret worn by Gilad ...The soldier. Orange is the color for the Home Front Command unit; similar to the National Guard and is not a combat unit.

I just love Dobama Theatre it has culture and the people there work very hard at what they do. The whole side has exactly what I need and its very professional and peaceful there.

I saw Peter and the Starcatcher here with my partner and her parents and really enjoyed myself. The theater is a conversion of an old swimming pool and as such the space is quirky and intimate. Seating wraps around three sides of the stage. Although the performance was arranged to be best viewed from the front it was obvious that thought had been put into making sure it was viewable from all seats. This is quality local theater done right.

Intimate atmosphere, interesting plays, bar; a bit pricey

Ive been to Dobama twice and thought both productions I attended were very high-quality. The actors and actresses here are solid. They mold themselves well into their characters. The facility itself is beautiful and has seating that allows each person to have a very good view. When Ive visited bigger theatres, Ive missed the great seating and more intimate environment that Dobama offers, although I like the larger venues too. The staff here is quite nice, as well. This is an A+ place all the way around. The only thing that could be considered even the least bit negative about the two performances I attended was that the endings were a bit difficult for me to understand. However, Im sure there are others who did not feel that way. This is definitely a good place to try, and Ive always left happy.

I usually think plays at the Dobama are great, but yesterday we saw The Effect, and I thought it was a little strange. Mostly, though, I do recommend the Dobama for really well-done, quality plays, although the prices are a bit high.

The Dobama Theatre provides a smaller, more intimate space that enriches the theatrical experience by bringing the actors closer to the audience by surrounding the stage on three sides. Not a bad seat in the house.

Great place under the artistic direction of Nathan Motta. They have contributed a lot to the city, especially its artist, becoming an equity theater and doing really thought-provoking work.
