On Saturday October 10th, 2020 I arrived at Cedar Lee Theatre to see a Woody Allen film. Upon arrival I checked in at their self service computer as they do not currently have the ticket box staffed presumptively due to covid. After scanning my code and getting the ticket I proceeded into the theatre and as I headed to the restroom I noticed what looked like the manager, looking at me, which is fine as I am handsome :-)I depart the bath and down the hall toward the theaters, and as I was making my way to the theater down runs an employee who asks to check my ticket! No problem, I let her check my ticket and while she glared at it reading every single line on it (guess they thought Id go to the trouble of using an old ticket or picking a discarded one up off the ground outsde) I told her she could put her handcuffs away and not arrest me. Oy vey.So I decide to go back up to stand next to the lobby entrance and wouldnt you know it, I saw many other patrons come directly in and NOT be asked to produce their tickets! Seems to me that if they want to selectively enforce a random ticket screening process they might want to mix in some other demographics other than 63 245 pound Black men!!Yes, there are some Black men who are also cinephiles who actually pay for movie tickets in order to support theatres such as your own!In these times, youd think a place like Cedar Lee Theatre would be kind of above this level of pettiness.Suggestion: If you want to be certain that certain people entering the theatre have paid for a ticket, howabout staffing the entrance with someone who FAIRLY screens ALL incoming patrons???Do better.

This location is one of the oldest and I think historic movie theaters in the area. I understand the need to preserve such a location. I think someone needs to do a better assessment of the condition of the inside itself. I think that it needs to be refreshed. Maybe they close it for a little while clean it really well and do some restoration? In spite of that if you havent seen or been to a theater that was a part of the golden era then you should check it out.

This is not your plush lounge chair theater. Its classic...squeaky seats and all. So worth a visit. They choose movies at the fringe of society, but feels like such a suitable venue for it. Love this place!

Friendly staff. Great prices. Cozy and vintage. The seating can get really high in the theaters. The prices for concession are arguably competitive! The staff were absolutely accommodating, courteous, professional, & efficient. The interior was pleasantly immaculate, and smelling lively of popcorn. The sound was wonderfully synchronized and at just the right enjoyable decibel level.Asked they have Rocky Horror!

Awesome theater, showing a great variety of movies at very fair pricing. We go there all the time. I took one star away because the seats are jammed in VERY close to the seat in front of you. Parking is not difficult, but is expensive (the pay-by-phone app works and knocks $$$ off the cost, but takes time), and dont even tempt the Cleveland Heights parking enforcers, Just dont. But parking issues are not the theaters fault. Everyone knows the staff here is great, so that goes without saying.

This is a great venue for worldwide releases as well as independent films. Great concession stand with just about all of your favorites and then some including beer. The audio and visual quality is superb. The only negative about Cedar Lee Theater is the parking situation being in the rear with a slight walk and pay parking meters(quarters only) or the pay parking structure. This is an older theater so with that in mind seating is very outdated. Most of us are soo used to the oversized, comfy, reclining seats in which this theater does NOT have. The average size person may not have a problem, as for above average size person may find them a bit uncomfortable.

I enjoyed watching movies here immensely. They sheats have a good selection of non new releases paying, like the Rocky Horror Picture Show, the Room and others. The staff are awesome. My only complaint that drives me insane is they have the worst seating ever. If youre a modestly tall guy such as myself, you dont fit in any of the seats at all. My legs cramp up unless I sit in an isle seat, and nobody wants those!

Super cute and quaint theater. Just saw Alien for its 40th anniversary (what a hoot) and it was what you would expect from a historical theater. Its very clean and quite nice. When living in The Heights, you must choose the Cedar Lee the next time you have the urge to see a movie. While offering what could be described asarthouse titles, you may be interested in going to the more mainline theaters for first-run shows. With that said, dont completely pass up the Ceder Lee; The neighborhood vibe alone us worth the price of admission. Also, alcohol purchases are offered for patrons. Look for their special family shows that run at family-friendly times. See you at the movies!

Not only are they one of the only theatres that show arthouse films, but the staff is really friendly. They all recognize me and talk to me to ask what Im watching, or what I thought of the movies Ive seen. They also put out a podcast every week and I listen to every episode!
