I’ve had my boat here for just around 1 year and I can already tell I’ll be keeping this slip for a while. The community here is great, it’s a wonderful advantage to be able to talk to all the other great sailors and boat owners here and listen to great stories. It’s quiet and calm. When there are people visiting- everyone is always considerate and helpful, saying “hello” and always willing to share their time and adventures with you. The dock master Stewart has gone out of his way for me, to be insightful and helpful, before I ever even owned a slip here. He would do the same for you. He’s always had a respect for the people and places here, you can tell in his interactions with other boat owners. This marina has a great community feel and has a serene peacefulness in the mornings.

We’ve kept our boat here 12 years and have always been pleased. Facilities are well maintained. Neighbors are quiet. Beautiful scenery all around! We live out of state and know our boat is safe between visits. Dock master is always helpful and courteous. I feel safe in this marina when here without the hubby. Highly recommend this if you are looking for a place to dock.

Another happy slip-renter here! For anyone who lives far away from their boat and can only use it several times a year, it’s important to have a good relationship with the Dock Master. Stewart is a wonderful Dock Master. We are so thankful that he takes care of our boat when we are away. He’s great with coordinating boat repairs, etc. I think he is the reason why it’s so hard to find an available slip at Island Yacht Club!

Island Yacht Club in Clearwater is a well managed and clean marina with friendly people.I have always felt safe and secure in my investment. The Dockmaster- Stewart is knowledgeable ,dedicated to the marina,super easy to contact and has been a great help many times over the past six years.

My dad placed his Chris Craft Cruiser in a slip at Island Estates Club Marina. This goes way back into the history of the Marina. At first he was renting but then he bought a slip when the Marina was legally transformed into condominium. My dad was a traveling salesman and really knew people and their qualities. He always committed to us that we could trust the doc master with any problems. He said Stewart is a REAL HONORABLE MAN. There never was a time that that he called the Marina and couldn’t speak directly with Stew. My dad told me to remember this, “Swift and Consistent Great Communication is the key foundation that businesses are built on and run on.” Stew is the man.

Ive been an owner at the IYC for for over 20 years and have never had an issue! I dont know what got Horowitz panties in a knot, but my entire experience with the club has been outstanding. The people are great and the facilities are always kept in good condition.Couldnt ask for a better place!

I have friends that have owned a slip in Island Yacht club now for over 10 years. This place is great especially the docmaster Stewart. I have known Stewart for 10 years. He is always the nicest guy and is willing to help everyone with anything they need. I would highly recommend this yacht club to anybody.

I rent a slip there, love this place ! The owner of my slip and the dock master are great. My lift malfunctioned in a bad rain storm last year and Stew came out in the storm with me and got my boat level and helped me in a big emergency for sure. Also got me a lift repair man out asap as I do not live in town. Is so nice knowing someone is keeping an eye on the boats there. Makes me sleep better at night.

I love Island Yacht Club. It is super peaceful. The areas are always well kept and I love to sit and watch the moon at night from there. Stewart is a very helpful and knowledgeable dockmaster.

The place is great. I rent a slip and love it. Stu is great. everybody is nice. We have one cranky live aboard that keeps writing bad reviews. Seems to be a low life . I can see why he lives alone on a boat.

My wife and I enjoy walking around the slips, using the clean facilities and talking to other owners, who have fascinating stories about their life advantages of boating. Have been working in this marina for over 15 years and was inspired today to share my experiences. This is truly a hidden paradise in one of the most beautiful areas of Clearwater Beach/Island Estates. Everything from the quick access to the Gulf, beaches,restaurants and festivals. I work in all of Pinellas County marinas and Clubs and this place is the true feeling of home and relaxation. Friendly people with great knowledge of boating and experiences of travel and local waters. The Dock master Stewart has gone above and beyond to make sure this place is a great friendly safe atmosphere. Docks, boardwalks, roof for covered slips, lights, etc. are inspected daily . Bathrooms and laundry facility is always clean , as well as the large Lanai. Which has a TV , sink, coffee pot, microwave and table to sit around and enjoy others boaters company with a BBQ right outside. Stewart is always there to help with anything and all repairs. His amazing leadership was proven when Hurricane Irma came through in September of 2017 and damaged several boats, roof to the covered slips, docks, pylons, and electrical. This marina was repaired quicker than any other in the area because he made it his top priority for the safety and livability of his fellow slip owners/renters. No other marina compares to everything this great place offers, and Ive worked in them all. Thank you for always welcoming My Divers and I.

Island Yacht club is a fantastic boating place, it’s one of the very few covered marinas around, is a very well maintained and run marina. Island Yaucht club is a good example of a well run marina. I have had a slip there for nearly 10 years and have never been disappointed. Stewart, the dock master is knowledgeable, friendly and professional.

People are friendly. Dock Master Stuart is always helpful and full of good advice, not to mention the easy to get to ice.

My wife and I owned 3 slips at Island Yacht Club for over 30 years. We have shared the good and bad conditions at the marina including the devastating fire back when maintenance was lacking. Maintaining a marina, especially one that is over 40 years old with wood docks and roofs is a never ending full time job. The dock master has to wear a lot of hats and deal with the needs of many different owners and renters. We have known the dockmaster, Stewart Tayman, for over 30 years. He is absolutely professional and committed to his job. There will and always have been a very small percentage of owners and renters who find fault with how the marina is run, but they are definitely the minority. Island Yacht Club is a great facility in a beautiful location.

IT is nice to read the reviews posted here with the exception of one posted by Mr Mark Horowitz. I dont normally spend my time with things like this but Mr. H. has driven me to this rant so I hope you read this soon. I have owned and resided on my boats at IYC for more than 35 years and have never done this. If I had such problems, I would take them directly to the board and try to live more compatibly with my neighbors. If I had support for my GRIPES I would get signatures of others that agree with me. I would NOT slander my neighbors, or ignore them without confronting them. I would be all inclusive when making my statements by emails or whatever method I used to make claims. As an owner, I would not make public complaints of my own that promote bad feelings among the owners, renters or users of the facilities. Mr. H., you have done all of these things to me and I have become very angry about that. Your posted statements may have negative effects on the value of the slips in this marina. As an owner, I very much resent that. You are in fact an embarrassment to me!Since you are so unhappy here, why dont you put your slip up for sale and MOVE!!!!???!!!! Lets be very clear about this! This is a condominium and we as owners have some shared rights. The documents are written to help the board and the owners solve or resolve such problems. No condominium has 100% agreement of the owners on everything, so that doesnt make for everything to run without dispute. But that doesnt give you the right to cause more dissent in my neighborhood.

My wife and I have been keeping our boat at IYC marina for 11 years. The marina is beyond amazing. It is a clean secure facility with well-maintained amenities including laundry, showers and restrooms. The marina is skillfully managed by the dock Master Stewart Tayman, a friendly and experienced professional who is always ready to assist you with docking needs.

My family has owned a slip at IYC since I was about 5 and I’m now 23. It’s never been anything but a wonderful environment to grow up in. Mr. Stew has been the dockmaster ever since I was little. It’s always been peaceful, fun and clean. He used to hide Easter eggs around the porch for my brother and I when we were young and now he teaches us about the local waters and marine life! Every time I come to IYC he’s working hard to keep everything maintained. He does an amazing job and I love the vibe and ambiance of the yacht club! Wouldn’t have it any other way!

We have owned 2 slips @ IWYC over past 10 years and having been involved in sailing/boating since childhood, we know it as the best Yacht Club one could ever want to be a member of. Stewardship by the Dockmaster is second to none, with continuance maintenance and always very well kept. We love the casual atmosphere and are extremely proud to be part of the IWYC community.

As an owner of several slips currently and in the past occupying a slip at IYC, I can give IYC and specifically our dock master Stewart Tayman the highest five star reviews for his professional and courteous handling of the Marina. My renters have always complimented the cleanliness and well-kept marina facilities. Stewart has been helpful in various ways, without even being asked. It is to my understanding that one of the owners who coincidentally has my same last name BUT NO RELATIONSHIP WHATSOEVER has been very unhappy, but in fairness, from my experience in owning condos as IYC is there is almost always one “Condominium Commando” who is unhappy and that is unfortunate for him but be assured that I feel we are most fortunate to have such a dedicated dock master who has and will continue to do an excellent job at IYC. Island Yacht Club is a wonderful community of active boaters within walking distance of Clearwater Beach.As one of the original owners when Island Yacht Club was developed in 1980 (40 Years ago) I was on the board of directors. This is my insight of those years as follows concerning the dockmaster position.Over the 40 years of ownership Ive seen both good and not so good dockmasters. Stewart Tayman our current dockmaster has been with our club approximately 24 years. Over the years I have seen Stewart rebuild many roof structures and docks, repair docks and bathroom plumbing, electrical outlets on the docks and rebuild our fire hose boxes to save IYC the cost of the expense of new boxes. Over the years he also completely rebuilt our community screen room in addition to daily cleaning of our restrooms. During the stormy hurricane season Ive seen Stewart come to the marina on his day off and work side by side with the owners to help retie lines and pump out boats. He also handle the day to day dealings with contractors and owners problems.To sum up, I think Stewart over the years has done an excellent job as dockmaster and I am glad he is working for us. Also the board of directors supervise the dockmasters position. Over the 24 years there have been many different boards and all appear to be pleased with his performance.

I have been at island yacht club for over 5 years and I can tell you its a very friendly atmosphere with a very professional staff . I have found the dock master Stewart Tayman with his 24 years of experience at this marina and near by waters to be so helpful. If you need local knowledge of anything from fishing to diving to sailing or just a friendly face to say hello in the morning . the bathrooms are alway clean and the screened room is alway neat and well kept as is the parking lot .
