Love this aquarium. Not too big, not too small. The staff were amazing!! Very knowledgeable and you can tell they really enjoy what they do. It was an easy half day adventure. If your familiar with the movie Dolphin Tail- Winter, Hope are here including a few others you will recognize. The habits are of great size and the animals were actively playing. Highly recommend

Great place, they have outdone themselves with the facility. Had a great time with the family, except:Patrons not wearing masks at all times including personnel. This was and is concerning especially when it comes to overall health and safety. Im concerned that not all personnel is not following cdc guidelines so everyone can feel safe. This should be improved.

They are currently under renovation. The new building looks like it will be beautiful and a great setup. The current building is slightly confusing and not a lot to offer. I would return once the new building opens.Military are free. Souvenir shop is okay, there is a small snack place. They do offer pictures. The dolphin exhibit is nice.

Took the wife and kiddo on an afternoon here.Seeing the dolphins definitely is the main attraction here and there isn’t a whole lot besides that. It’s not exactly clear how to get around and see all the different things and walking around to the back of the facility to get in because of construction was a little as well.Overall, cool dolphins but wouldn’t come back.

First of all this is not a traditional aquarium, you need to be aware of that and know that you are coming to an aquarium whos main goal is to rehabilitate, rescue and or release aquatic native wildlife. It is a non profit organization and needs visitors like us spending our money to keep it going. That being said the volunteers and employees are amazing, knowledgeable and love the animals they are helping. My daughter is working her way to becoming a Marine Biologist and the staff here was extremely inspiring for her. We opted for the behind the scenes tour and was able to see even more amazing work that they only speak of during their tours. Love the place and will look forward to coming back as it continues to grow. Thanks to the movie this facility is beginning to grow and do even more work for the good of our planet and its inhabitants. Shame on those that only give 1 star!

This is not your typical aquarium. You wont see any pretty colored fish or a wide variety of marine life. Their mission statement is that its a rescue and rehab facility. Once the animal has sufficiently recovered and able to be released, its released back into the wild. That said its a very enjoyable and educating experience. Great place to spend a couple hours to learn about marine life. Of course Winter is the star here.

This aquarium is dedicated to save animals which have been injured while in their natural habitat. It has some beautiful dolphins as well as other marine life. It offers food to its visitors, in the form of fast foods and drinks. We spent more time than planned ahead of our visit. However, all of us enjoyed it the visit. Hopefully, we will be able to visit again, soon. If you are able to donate, please do so as the facility relies on donations to help their acuatic friends.

This place is exactly what dreams are made of. They aren’t like SeaWorld, they actually care for these animals and aren’t just keeping them to turn a profit. It shows, the compassion and knowledge each and every one of these individuals share is so passionate and raw. If you are in the area, please visit this place and support them. Ticket prices are $30 per adult and parking is $10, which normally would be a fair price for a large aquarium but I felt this aquarium was a little small for that price. You’ve seen everything within an hour of being there and you find yourself doing circles just to get your money’s worth. Seeing Winter was pretty cool though. Didn’t see/hear any info on why she wasn’t wearing her prosthetic or if she even wears one at all. Staff was all very knowledgeable and attentive, except for the lady who was giving the sea turtle presentation. She seems like she doesn’t really like her job, maybe she was just having a bad day.

We had a blast at CMA!! This was our first visit since the new building was completed (we visited about 4 years ago), and Wow!!!! All the staff we came in contact with were friendly and offered tons of information. Our “Behind the Scenes” tour guide, Keith, was absolutely amazing! He made it a point to really connect with each of us during the tour, and he made the tour even more fun and interesting. Probably the best tour I’ve ever been on at any marine facility! I love that in addition to providing sanctuary for animals that can’t be released, they are still a functioning marine animal hospital. Being a nurse, it was neat to see all the different areas of the hospital side of it!Great Job, y’all!!! We will definitely be back!

Full disclosure: since my girlfriend and I are teachers, we were admitted for free. They are currently expanding and upgrading the entire facility. Due to this there are a few pros and cons. The cons are that the space is compacted and exhibits are small. They have also stopped doing many of the shows.A bright side of this is that guests are scheduled in 3 hour blocks. Do not arrive early. Our arrival time was 1:30PM and we arrived at 1. Everyone seemed to arrive early. All of the exhibits were crowded and there was no room to observe or learn about the animals there. By 2PM all of the first exhibits were empty and animals were easy to view. Another pro is that all of the staff and volunteers were exceedingly helpful and wanted everyone to get the most out of their visit. We especially enjoyed learning about the rehab part of the facility.I would also suggest, if youre bringing kids, to watch A Dolphins Tail as the movie is based on the true story of one of their dolphins.Again, I received free entry so the admission price could make a difference. I did enjoy my time there and do plan on returning once everything is updated

Here is a quick over view of what to expect today from the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. First, parking is $10. Upon entering, you will be greeted by photographers who will take photos that you are expected to purchase later. We opted to take part in the dolphin moment with touch and photo. This was a very quick but rewarding experience, lasting about 5 minutes total. The photo is for print out ONLY, they refused us a digital photo unless we paid $72 for a flash drive with all of the days photos cumulative. Please note, the dolphin moment is the o my reason this isn’t a one star review. The remainder of the experience was disappointing to say the least. There are only 4 other exhibits total, a turtle, two otters, a shark, and a pelican. You could touch a manta ray, which I’m surprised didn’t cost a significant amount to do. Allocate about 30 minutes to this experience tops

The aquarium is full of highly entertaining and knowledgeable staff who truly care for the sea creatures. It appears that they do a lot of great work rescuing and rehabbing the animals. The aquarium itself seems to be rather unorganized and archaic to navigate. We weren’t sure if we saw all the exhibits or now as there was no real “flow” to the exhibits. I think this is due to the facility being under construction. There were lots of stairs in the facility, so those who are mobility impaired might be at a slight disadvantage. We did do the stingray feeding/petting which was very cool. All together this is a great aquarium, and would visit here again.

I little pricy but a nice little aquarium. I consider the price of admission to help the animals and the hospital portion. They are also expanding the aquarium to give the dolphins and turtles more room. Currently you can only visit for 1 1/2 hours, but thats plenty of time. We went through the acquarium twice with the time we had. It was great seeing Winter and the other dolphins. You can see them from above and through windows below. The windows below have a nice little sunken ship theme. From above you can watch the trainers interact with Winter and the other dolphins. Winter only wears the prosthetic a few times a week and for only a few minutes for physical therapy, so dont go in expecting to see that. They have dolphins, sea turtles, sharks, fish, otters and a ray petting pool. Nice little gift shop and very friendly staff. They also have a small outdoor snack bar with several slushy options. For a little extra, you can take a boat ride to possibly see wild dolphins in the bay.

This is the place that gained fame in the movie A Dolphin Tale. They took in a dolphin who lost its tail in a fishing net, and made a prosthetic tail for it. The dolphins name is Winter, and is still there. We were lucky enough to be there the very first day the new pool and exhibit was open to the public. They rehabilitate animals who have been injured or somehow interfered with so that they cant go back to their natural environment. But their goal is to rehabilitate the animal and then release it back into the wild when it is healthy enough.

This was a huge disappointment. Maybe it was a lot better before the pandemic? We made reservations for 10 am when they opened. Apparently so did another 100-150 people. They constantly encourage social distancing, but make it impossible with so many people at one time. They also say masks are required, but dont enforce it as we saw quite a few whole families without masks. As for the aquarium itself, there were not many exhibits. We are animal lovers. I think its great that are helping wildlife, but as an aquarium, this was terrible. Some animals were not on display as they were cleaning the exhibit while we were there. We made it approximately 40 minutes before wed seen everything there and were claustrophobic from the crowd. Also, EVERYTHING was Dolphin Tale related. Maybe if you have a little one who loved Dolphin Tale they would enjoy this. Otherwise not worth the admission.

Expensive for sure. It was cheaper to purchase an annual membership for the family for $114 and an additional $89 for 5 for the boat ride. The boat ride was very fun and educational. They actually have a marine biologist ride with you and tells you about the dolphins that youll see. As far as the museum, it was great to see Winter, Hope, & PJ, but its under construction and it was awfully crowded, which isnt good with the high Coronavirus numbers. They truly attempted organization, but you could see it fall to the side easily. Other than the boat, it went perfect from start to finish, social distancing, hand sanitizer before boarding. The staff was a delight! The Captain was fantastic, fun, and very knowledgeable regarding driving the boat and the bay. It was even fun to see the staff in their element. I gave it a 4 because of the long walk to enter and the disorganization, as well as the super high price for no more than we were able to see or participate in. It was so hot that day. It was an advantage with the membership that parking was only $5 rather than the normal $12 and we received a discount on gifts and treats.

I got multiple stuffed animals and a few other things and theyre in very good shape still. Love how you help the animals (I dont understand why people are so angry that there arent very many animals when the idea is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release, despite that very message being well emphasized). 10/10 would go again. Money well spent. My grandparents were very happy to bring me to this aquarium, as Ive been wanting to meet Winter for so long.Just an extra note: Walle, the otter, is adorable and I love him- I got one of the stuffed animals of him. I had a rare treat, this morning I’ve been to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA) many, many times, and each time it’s been so exhilarating, but this was a real uniquely enjoyable encounter. I was given a special tour by none other than Kelsy Long, Director of Media Relations. We were able to peruse the breathtaking new expansion of the CMA. My dolphin friends were out there in all their glory, upfront and personal. It just gave me the warm fuzzies and I told them so, smile. They were swimming around in the open as well as in their big new cavernous glass enclosure. It was a sight to behold, capturing on tape and creating a fresh memory bouquet. And then we got down to serious discussions on producing some musical storylines that embrace this wonderful place. It won’t do justice to what the 2 movies Winter’s Tale has given us. What it will be is another means of expressing to viewers and visitors what we already know is a spectacular experience being with Winter and all her friends

There are scheduled events throughout the day many of which repeat at least once if not twice some even three times. Unfortunately we didnt know this a head of time and they were all sold out when we found out and asked.Im not sure I would go again on Valentines Day or any other holiday, but I would love to return during their slowest time of year especially after the new addition is complete. There were a lot more people there than I expected on a Friday morning/afternoon.I could have stayed all night just watching PJ, Hope & Winter interact with each other and with their trainers. Even my service dog enjoyed watching them as well as Nicholas.

Great seeing rehabilitation of the Marine life. Very informative. Plus, you can see the stars: Winter and Hope. Very awesome

It is an easy hour or two to fill. Seeing Winter and Hope was really neat!! You see the rehab tanks for sea turtles, some of the hospital area, and the scuba divers interact with the guests!!! Would highly recommend. They are adding on so we will probably come back at some point.

The staff is very knowledgeable about the animals at the aquarium. Even took time to answer questions. Each animal has a story. Just hearing their stories was what made the experience so neat. The building is under construction which kinda sucks but it means the animals will get bigger aquarium. That always a good thing. Save by buying your tickets online. Ask about family and group ticket packages. We got a family plan for four people for $99 then added an extra person for $15 and that gets us in for a year. Parking an extra $12 but you can park in the church parking lot for free.
