I had an issue with my initial online purchase, but Ryan really came through for me afterwards. I think its important to remember that everyone can make mistakes. The actions following that are what really define the kind of business you are dealing with. My wife has been wanting a small salt water aquarium for a while, so we finally took the plunge at went to the closest aquarium shop and it was fantastic. They were very knowledgeable and helped us with all of our starter salt water tank needs. Well be going back there for fish once we get the tank we bought there set up. Pretty affordable as well for a quality selection of fish and coral and other sea creatures.

Ive known Ryan through Aquatic Dreams since he was in Ogden. Hes always been super helpful, knowledgeable and an honest guy. As soon as you walk in you can tell the store is above others, always clean and stocked with great product. Bonus- My wife doesnt complain about how long I stay when he has the friendly Frenchie dog there.

Ordered 2 Buttkisser polyps online. Only received one. Funky Monkey said it was a bonus even though the picture showed two polyps, almost $100 I spent. They didn’t even send the correct polyps they sent me something completely different from the picture totally ripped me off. If it’s too good to be true it is. WYSIWYG doesn’t apply here. Very dishonest customer service.

Edit to my original review. I have now been dealing with them for 2 months researching, 4 as a customer. They are hands down one of the best shops Ive been into. I have stopped in a bunch of shops across the valley. They have a great selection of health animals. They take great pride in their animals, the frags are always new and gorgeous. If your think reefing is something you want to do stop in and see them.Super friendly staff, very willing to educate a new person to the hobby and give them information towards making the right choice. This can be a big investment, they have answered all my questions and given their honest opinion for me to research. Cant wait to come back and buy my tank!

I have been a customer of aquatic dreams for 15 years I do believe they was first in Riverdale then and West Ogden with the 20 foot shark tank and then they move to Layton I have been a customer since they first was on board I was friends with the owner of the store Ryan and have seen the selection from then to now and I would tell you I have never been treated so poorly by any type of pet store as I have been treated at aquatic dreams the last purchase for a fish I had was price gals over $200 most of their things at this time our price gouged the fish and stuff in the store in my opinion was in poor quality but at this time unless you want to go to salt lake City there is no other pet store or unless youre ordering to buy things I purchased a fish for almost $400 when I got the fish home he was okay the next day there was signs of ich and everything I had to fish in quarantine I had also bought medications and used pressure medications and bought a 36 watt UV sterilizer to go on a quarantine tank I did everything I possibly can do you add in half measures a copper safe as well as garlic and everything when I went to the store on the weekend they wouldnt even the knowledge that I was a customer in the store I was trying to buy some cleaner shrimp they wouldnt even acknowledge that I was in the store for 14 minutes then when the fish passed away I asked them what could they do for my services and they said nothing and I said Ive been a long time customer and they said we dont care how much money you have spent we have no services for you it is your fault thank you

Went into the store today as a newly started reefer and had many questions and they did not hesitate to sit and answer every question I had. They are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Came in today, had some questions about setting up a saltwater tank. The gal on staff seemed more interested in her phone conversation than making a sale. Let alone greeting me or asking if I needed any help. After about 15 mins I left.

This place is clean and inviting. The employees very learned and kind. All the livestock is well kept. Very good and well maintained. I will return regularly.Edit: Dropped to 3 because I feel like they have got a bit downhill as far as staff and service. I cant get anyone to help me lately when I go, theyre super dismissive like they think Im cheap. Not cool because I always buy something when I go in. When I can get help they are only able to identify only about half of their own frags. They lost a sale today and left a very bad impression because of these things. Sorry.

Beware brining in small children they keep a dog in there who jumped on my daughter and split her eyebrow open causing a lot of bleeding. Also I feel they were more concerned watching dogs and a small puppy who peeped all over the shop and also another customer had a puppy peeing everywhere super gross dodging pee puddles not a great experience. I’d love to support a small local business but not until some things change I don’t need a dog jumping on me while trying to browse and do business.

Just stopped in looking for a very specific type of sand gradual and brought my pupper in as she super codependent, they didnt have it, but they were very friendly and helpful. Disappointed though, I was hoping to see the dog/dogs that had been mentioned by the worst/recent review, the store was actually quite clean and organized, Im assuming someone else maybe a customer or friend of an employee brought in the dog(s). If the employees were more concerned with the dog Im sure it was probably for the cleanliness/safety of their employees, the person who came in probably had an unattended child and wants to destroy a small salt water store for some revenge plot, shame on them though, they offered to see if we could order it in, but I am on a time crunch.

I visited Aquatic Dreams with my husband not really knowing what to expect. As soon as we walked in, we were captivated by one of several large display tanks in the front room. It was one of the most impressive tanks I have seen at a local fish store. We continued through the many tanks to the back of the store where they had a large selection of fish for sale. Again we were impressed. The staff was really helpful and kind which contributed to us having an awesome experience. We will definetly be back!

Ryan and Nate are awesome! If your a DIY guy they have no problem giving you the best advice. I also use them for service calls, always on time and they call ahead to remind me they are coming. Just great experience from them over the last 10 years they have been helping me with my saltwater systems. Great inventory of pumps and equipment and the best fish Ive ever seen. Again cant say enough good things about these guys!

Really nice layout . They have a smaller selection , but its still a nice store. Some of the reviews say they dont have great customer service. I call it not being bothered. Most people who are in the saltwater hobby know whats what and if you need something youll ask .

Holy cow this place is awesome!!!! Extremely clean store with fully stocked tanks . Ive been keeping tanks for 12 years now and these guys teach me something new most times Im in there. Extremely helpful, They carry a great choice in equipment and the stands and canopys are top notch. Like any where else, there are going to be days that hings are not perfect and some one might be in a bad mood. However I have yet to find that here.

There are some nice corals here, but you have to weed through quite a few dull ones or spend a significant amount of money to get something vibrant, which is not surprising for Utah. Their fish are beautiful though. I always love what they have and they have quite a wide price range.

Great to visit a LFS that has fair prices and a knowledgeable staff. Store is clean and well stocked. I usually worry that I need to shop online to get what I need to keep my tank running, however these guys came through and at a fair price.

The customer service they had seems to have ran out the door. Theyre hardly willing to help, never seem to have time to do anything and all together just arent as friendly as they should be, in my opinion. The store is awesome, its kept clean and they always have a cool selection, but customer friendly service is what gets me in the door and keeps me coming back, but it has changed over the last couple years, and its definitely not for the better

Had a good variety of basic corals in all sizes from frags to well grown on rocks. Excellent variety of fish with lots of juvenile species.

While the store is well maintained, I found the staff very bias when it comes to men. While in the store. My husband, who was looking around on his own, was asked numerous times if he needed any help whil I was completely ignored. Not a store for women.

This place is very wellkept. The fish here are healthy and I would assume as happy as a fish could be. The aquariums are clean and nice, the tank ecosystems appear to be in great health and are clearly well cared for by the staff. The staff here is really great, they are always super friendly and helpful whenever I visit, and I would definitely recomend this place to any aquatic fanatics/pros or hobbiests, although, due to the nature of saltwater aquariums, it is not a good place for novices or beginners. I am sure the staff would be more than willing to help you get tlstarted though! They also have a small collection of exotic tree frogs. Great place in general, and they have a great selection.

Drove 200 miles to go see what they had. Good coral a little expensive IMHO. Also most of the sps was brown and sad looking. Maybe it was a new shipment?
