This is the first time I have come into this shop and my experience was beyond phenomenal! I received the most amazing service and help. I asked about lingerie that would best fit me since I have such a hard time finding things that fit, and the associate went through several items that she felt would work. But not only did she show me things, she explained to me why they would work well. I’ve never had that happen. I’ve always gone to other shops around northern Utah but this will be my new normal. It’s a smaller shop and has a smaller selection but that selection is the best I’ve seen, especially where lingerie is concerned.

Went to the store 30 minutes after they opened and they were closed! There was a tiny sticky note that said Be back in 5 minutes so I went back 2 hours later still close. Be profesional if you have a store hours stick to them! This is not the way to keep customers.

I have come here more times then I can count. I always spend easily $200+. I get good customer service and the products are good for what I need them for. However I came in a few nights ago and spent almost $700 based off of what one of the girls who worked here said. Turns out none of it was accurate and I am now stuck w $300 worth of stuff I can not and will not ever use. I am less then impressed w the way it was all handled and am disappointed for shopping here. Ugh.

Always have a fun experience at Black Velvet! Taylor was amazing and very fun and open to talk to and very knowledgeable and helpful for those of us who dont quite know what to do or what to look for. Very comfortable atmosphere

Great place. Have been coming here since they were up the road. The new shop is nice and cozy and the staff is always so helpful going out of there way with recommendations.

The customer service I get here amazes me every time. Especially from Katy. She is very knowledgeable about all of their products, where they come from, price range, general reviews and opinions of said products and their expected lifespan. All of the staff there are wonderful and always help me out with any questions I may have. Its always smiles every time I go. Thank you Katy for being amazing.

Had an amazing experience here! The staff is super knowledgeable and make it super easy and comfortable to shop. Emily made suggestions based on my particular preferences that I would never have chosen myself, but that fit my needs better than could have expected. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Very nice staff, was extremely helpful, great place to come for information and adult items. She was very knowledgeable about everything in the store. Overall very positive experience.

Sales associate, was rude. We had several items picked out for purchase, and were simply discussing with another couple the comical side of a product. We were told that we couldnt laugh, or discuss the topic around anyone else as to not offend them.We were all having a good time until then. I could have sold the other couple on almost any product until that point. After that we left without purchasing anything and will not go back.

Going into the store today with my fiance was scary and a little intimidating. We drove around the block a few times before I mustered up the courage to go in. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the kindest and sweetest sales associate ever. The knowledge she had on everything in the store was incredible. We found ourselves asking random questions to try and catch her of guard, however it was us who caught ourselves with our jaws just floored by her Wisdom. Ari mentioned shes actually certified and has tested to know what she does and to have that in this store was comforting. We will be returning because of this amazing kind soul. Thank you Ari, we cant wait to visit you again. All of my friends will hear about this perfect experience.

Very poor customer service. Prices were double what you can get online and I asked if there was any room on the price hoping to buy it today. She was extremely rude and told me that if you buy toys online they are all knock offs and they have other people fluids on them.

Definitely my favorite adult store I’ve ever been to! The staff will help you with all your questions, they have a fairly wide variety, and beginner friendly things as well as things for more experienced partners. I will always come back to black velvet for all my lingerie and other needs.

I got a job at Black Velvet while I was in college and it was the best choice I ever made. The owners are amazing and extremely knowledgeable. Their products are incredibly priced and the culture and message of the shop is what makes them so unique. I dont know why this shop doesnt have more stars. Now that Ive moved on from my job there Ive seen just how rewarding being a customer there is too. I will always shop there knowing Im getting the best information and best price from people who are passionate about what they do.

Owner is SUPER nice and she and all the employees are VERY knowledgeable about all their products. And they give honest opinions.They make you feel comfortable, and you dont feel stupid when you ask any questions. (And I have a lot lol) I dont feel awkward here.They are happy to assist and educate. They even host different workshop/classes on different topics. If you sign up for their text mail list, you get notified about when they are holding a workshop/classes. It includes the topic, day and time. And the classes are FREE!They also text discounts.I love this boutique.

Normally Im not the review guy. Actually, I never go out of my way to post reviews on a business even if I receive the worst or best service possible. Ill admit its partially laziness, but its also because I think people should let their own experiences inform them rather then make decisions based off the perspective of people theyve never met. If Im going to judge the quality of a business or a persons character I better be darn sure I know what Im talking about, otherwise, that just makes me ignorant.With that all said, as a customer of this local adult shop for over a year now who has definitely been helped by their information, it would be wrong to read the negative reviews on here about them, and not speak up in their defense. To put it bluntly, they sound like a load of BS to me. Sure, its possible one of the employees was having an off day (who hasnt had their fair share?), but in the many times Ive gone in, regardless of who was working, Ive never once witnessed vulgar commentary coming from the employees at this shop. We are all adults and the accidental swearing happens, but its not like they are dropping f-bombs or swearing constantly. These people have huge personalities and they ought to given it takes a lot of balls to talk about what they do all day long, especially in this state. Now, to be fair, the building is older, but they keep it clean, well-organized, and make it comfortable and accessible to anyone who comes into their store. Speaking to their level of service, Ive never been to another store that made me feel so relaxed and at ease. They are honest, friendly, never make me feel pressured to buy or talk about anything I dont want to, and they go above and beyond time and time again. These people dont pass judgments, and they will teach you a thing or two about toys and maybe even something about your body you dont know, if you hear them out.Dont just take my word for it, go in and take a look around and strike up a conversation with one of them. Still dont agree with me then maybe its not the kind of store for you. All Im saying is give yourself the opportunity to figure it out, and dont let what appears to be a series of personal attacks rather than opinions of merit make up your mind before you go in.A big thank you to the staff, my wife and I will always support your store and cant say enough how much youve helped our relationship this past year.Grant

The worker was really up in our business. Constantly asked us if we needed help. Would kinda just follow us and start talking about products, sex is a personal thing to some couples and that wasnt really respected.

We bought a butterfly with straps to hold it in place. When we went to use it later that night, the straps tore off. We never even got to use it. This item cost $50! When I called the next day, I was basically told that I was screwed (and not in a good way) I was told no refunds, no exchanges, so sorry. So we wasted $50 on something that broke before we could even use it. I know returning these items may seem gross, but if the product is defective to begin with, there should be some exceptions. We have spent hundreds of dollars here in the past. They have just lost some customers.

I never write reviews either but, I feel like I need to how knowledgeable your employees are the only down side is that I just came in and spent a lot of money and went home to realize that was the wrong item. And I havent even opened it but the return policy wont let me return it so I wont even try. But when I looked up the product because I thought well maybe I can sell it the product everywhere else is 30 dollars with free shipping and I spent 70 dollars so Im going to be losing out on 40 dollars. So next time I will just order my products online I didnt realize how over priced it was.

If I was able to give negative 5 stars I most certainly would! This place is disgusting, dirty ( large spots from what to appear to be oil or in this case lubricant, old dirty couch, opened old sex toys shoved around the store), terrible customer service, judge free? yeah right, I am okay with swearing but down right nasty vulgarity used for whatever reason just shows poor class. Shows a lot about the people who work here, there are more sophisticated ways to describe or just have conversation. Manners go a long way. Claiming to be female owned, educational, sex positive, judge free... I give zero stars on all of the above. Sad when you know you are the only sexual based resource for many utah people and you cant hold your employees or your store to better standards. I guess it really is impossible for Utah to have a legitament, sex positive, safe adult store.
