Out of a recommendation, I scheduled a haircut with Lisa for this past Tuesday, 1/29/19. I showed Lisa a picture of exactly what I wanted. The results were less than desirable. When I questioned my awful bang cut, Lisa told me it would “take a few washes for the ‘shock’ to wear out of my hair”. I didn’t think it was that big of a deal at the time. My hair looked awful, but I thought it was just due to it not being styled and I tried not to freak out. I got home and my husband commented on how horrible my hair looked. Mind you he’s NEVER ever said that after a haircut, ever! I decided to wash my hair and try to style it. I purchased a curling wand and went to work. It still looked horrible! I washed, blow dried, and flat ironed it the following morning. I was hopeful that it would look better and more even that it did the night before(when I tried the curling wand). To my dismay, that is when I noticed the full extent of the unevenness. I’ve posted pictures below of what I wanted and what I got. I would also like to note that I did send a message via Facebook on Wednesday, which shows as read, however, I have yet to receive a response. All I am asking for is a refund since I had to pay another stylist to fix this mess I was left with. The stylist who fixed my hair even took photos of before and after for her page.. that’s how BAD my cut was! I’ve only cried twice in my life over a haircut and I’m 36 years old! Once was 12 years ago from a stylist at great clips, the other was this “cut” given by Lisa. I’d stay away! Not only will you end up with a botched haircut, but the owner will not even bother reaching out to you and appears not to care if things like this happen.

I have been going to Hair on Main for a while now. I recently had my stylist, Cathy color my hair and change my style to an Inverted Bob. Cathy took her time and gave me a super cute haircut. Cathy is very good with color, too! I just love it and I have gotten many compliments! Cathy is very professional and really cares about her clients. Hair on Main is a very friendly and comfortable salon right in the heart of Downtown Clayton. I enjoy telling everyone about Hair on Main and Cathy. Thanks Cathy!

Updated review. After I got home from my hair appointment and was about to get in the shower (I pulled my hair back so as not to wash out my hair color (the service provided that I am happy with). My boyfriend noticed a shaved bald patch on the side of my head, about the size of a dime, towards the back. I contacted my former stylist in Wilmington, NC to ask how to approach the situation ( I waited a few days, not only to calm down, but because I wanted to make sure to address this in a civil matter.). While I have nothing against Lisa Parrish on a personal basis, in my opinion this matter couldve been handled more professionally. I simply asked for a refund, yes it was 6 days after the hair services were performed.. But not only am I having to wear my hair to cover the bald patch shaved in my head (which is pretty embarrassing), I gave myself time to calm down before I even called the salon. I was told I would be contacted by the owner, instead, Lisa called me herself, Ive just now been informed, by Lisa, that I will not receive a refund and I will most definitely be seeking future haircuts/ color services elsewhere. I understand now that maybe waiting to contact the salon was not the best move, so I suppose walking in absolutely livid and embarrassed to complain wouldve been a better approach to this. Not impressed with how this was handled, whatsoever.

Cathleen Lyon is the BEST there is. She has done a great job on my hair and I have been going to her for sometime now. She listens and really takes the time to understand what you are looking for. I have never left with less than amazing results!

OMG! So much to say about Cathy! Not only is she awesome at what she does she has always made me feel so comfortable when I go to her! Initially I went to Hair On Main because it was an awful day and I just wanted a quick shampoo and blow out to make myself feel better! Almost two years later and its my favorite place and Cathy is super at making my wild, coarse, unruly hair look like it could be on a hair model! If you want a great cut, style, and an all around great experience at a salon, go to Hair On Main and to Cathy!!

Cathi is a great stylist and a great person overall who will take the time to ensure you are satisfied. She will take the time to get to know you, make suggestions, all while asking about your day and letting you know about hers. She is a small town girl that will make you feel right at home. She is also great with teenagers as well.

Cathy is fabulous. She always knows exactly what Im looking for and always has great ideas. She is very easy to reach for appointments. I highly recommend her and have sent several friends and family her way.

I was refused a bang trim. Just walked in to see if they could do it and before I could say anything besides hi, I was sent next door because they thought I was in the wrong place. When I asked for a bang trim, they said they were cleaning and closing up. That surprised me since I googled their hours before heading over that way, and it said they close at 8. It was about 6:10 when I got there. I was disappointed.

Go see Cathy! She is great and I always know I can trust her judgement. Love my cut and color!

Dont recommend trying to go there as a walk-in. I called a day ahead to confirm they accepted walk-ins, as their Facebook & store front advertises, & was told they did. I am a mother to a toddler & was not able to pin down a specific time to set an appointment, hence why I needed a walk-in situation. When I went the next day I was told there were 2 people ahead of me &, after checking their books, that Id have to come back at 330. That was 2 hours away & not a possibility for me. I went to another salon as a walk-in with absolutely no trouble, & that salon had other clients as well. I cannot speak to the quality of the work they do, but I wouldnt recommend even bothering to try to be a walk-in. Save time & go elsewhere.

Here is my experience, walked in, showed the stylist my hair, and a pic of what I want, and asked how much for hair coloring and keratin? The answer was $X price for everything. Booked the appt and came on time. Colored my hair 3 times (over the length of the day), and Oops-ed every time for getting it wrong, so she had to reschedule me for next week to get it right, which is fine, but she charged me the X amount by now, already. Which is fine, as I trusted they will fix my hair and complete the job next time.In my next appt, she was not there, kids are sick which is totally fine, so had to reschedule for the next week. Called me a day before and asked me again to reschedule for the third week, and asked me to bring $100 extra for fixing the color, and another $250 for Keratin because I have too much hair, and my hair color is too dark and they call it hair-corrupt?!! A total of $350 on top of what she asked me the first day, which I already paid the first day although she got it wrong (I guess that is my over-trusting problem/lesson).Called them and asked if she can complete the coloring only (at least), for $50 instead of $100 on top of what I paid, so the stylist asked me to talk to the manager, and the manager said she can not do anything... I paid what they asked for, for a complete job, including Keratin, and accepted the delays, and the answer is NO, my hair is too much and hair-corrupt?!!The manager didnt want to loose the $50 she asked for, and stick to the $100 extra for coloring, so I demanded they finish what they committed to. Then the manager suggested me to go somewhere else and hang up on me.I guess if you are going there, dont pay up front, if they dont get it right. Refuse delays, no point of accepting them if not appreciated... and make sure to get a quote for their price, because it can double if they feel they screwed up, just to push you away... I dont know what else.

Fantastic hair styling good people good service

First and foremost, I will say this isnt my normal salon and I did appreciate the fact they got me in last minute when I was in a pinch and my normal girl couldnt. When i got there the girl ran about 20 minutes over on the client before me. Things seemed to be going fine until the lady went to blow dry my hair and realized she left my roots a light brown, a very obvious line of red in the middle, and dark brown roots. The girl seemed to be apologetic and stated that I could call or text her later that week and she would fix it free of charge. I didnt freak out as most would have, told her it was no big deal since was willing to fix it, paid full price and tipped her thinking she would live up her to word of fixing it. Well two phone calls to the salon and a text to her person phone and she never reached back out to me to get my hair resolved. I ended up having to go back to my normal girl this week to get what hair on main did fixed. So all in all I spent over $250 berween hair on main then having to get it fixed. Very unprofessional.

I got my hair done by Ericamarie Sablich. She did an amazing job. Never had a better cut and highlights from anyone else. If anyone is looking for a new stylists she the one to go to. She listens to what you want and goes above and beyond what you ask so you leave happy. I will n t let anyone else do my hair but her. Thanks for the amazing experience you gave me while i was in the shop..
