We made a special side trip just so we could say we went down to the crossroads. Theres a convenient parking area right besides the marker post, where you can jump out and snap a picture and maybe get out your guitar and play a verse of Crossroads just for celebration. Be sure and go up to the sign post and read all the stickers people have pasted there. Theres a good barbeque joint next door so you can get some Mississippi barbeque while you are there. If you know what this place is, you will feel good about visiting.
Its a cool sign, but is misleading. The real crossroads is out of town 3.1 miles...
My brother works here at the liquor store at crossroads.. he did work at the furniture store at first. Ive cashed many of checks at this furniture store lol. I have no complaints about this place. The employees that run this place are pretty cool.
My review will not address the crossroads themselves which is perfectly functional road-wise, but rather the Devil (aka Satan, Lucifer, Beezlebub) that operates here. I was asked to meet at the crossroads at midnight, um hello! a time that is both super sketchy and inconvenient. The Devil had a distracting odor when he appeared out of nowhere and late I might add. He was a bit pushy about the signing of the contract we agreed upon. Signing in blood made me feel super uncomfortable. Finally, I have failed to achieve the success he promised me as a full-time Yelper and life-style coach.
Its right in the middle of a main intersection and theyre currently doing some sort of construction work there. Itd be great if the sign was more noticeable and there was some sort of a photo prop nearby. Abes Bbq might want to consider that.
This is a national landmark that people come from all over to visit take pictures and enjoy the barbecue from the famous Abbs barbecue. I live here so I get to enjoy the site and taste whenever I want..what a privilege.
Wonderful to shop there a great place
I havent come when events are there. One thing I can say is that the people are very nice!
This is such a awesome landmark!
It looks alot better now that they have put up new lights. Love the gardening as well ️ Now thats an historic mark
Very nice place to come visit and take pictures
Amazing history and if you love the blues its a must see town and experience the sights and food
Just a sign. But a nice sign. Ground Zero Blues Club nearby was great.
This is totally phony; just a marketing scam. Its a dumpy intersection. There has never been an actual crossroads location identified, and the whole story is mythical. Having said that, if youre in the area you need to go there. I did. I even took a crummy selfie, and I never take selfies.
Such a cool memorial
Always wondered where it was. Could have sworn I heard Robert Johnson playing for us! I wish he couldve been!
Access to highway 49&51,visible fast-food spots and a few local eateries.
Best place to sell your soul in America
Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness and could not succeed..he have a lot to often this world but at the end of the day is it worth it.. to lose your soul and in up in hell with ever lasting torment and gnashing of teeth.. its need to be broken down and burnt to ashes to the ground .. think this city being bless, not so but that Monument bring a curse to this town the Lord said all souls is mines but the soul that sinneth shall die.. and this town made that as an god to bring people here to make money.. it is written God said worship him and only him we shall serve.
This is a really cool spot of history to experience, especially as a fan of the show supernatural. The shops around the sign all have excellent hospitality and embrace being a part of the crossroads. But as far as the attraction goes, its litteraly just a sign at an intersection. Which is something I wish Idve known first. Excuse the photo of my stupid face but i think it gives you a better idea of what youll see
Anyone who knows the blues the real blues should journey there. While it may be a major intersection in clarksdale if you can dig it you can feel it. I suggest you park down the street at the mini mart next to the family dollar and go in and talk to the hometown store owner theres where you get some really good history 69 years in the same spot he knows a thing or two.
Great place!! My brother used to work at the furniture store now he works at the liquor store.
We actually almost missed it, we were at a red light and were looking for it, glad one of us looked up, you can park and go look at it just good luck crossing the road, that’s probably why the deals are done at midnight, less traffic
Interesting piece of music history, the marker simply gives you the location. As part of the Blues Highway it is a place you will surely want to drive through.
Manager is a low class disrespectful person! No one should be doing business with him!
Great historic place to visit!
It was good with a lot of fun.
Stopped shot photo. Soul intacked.
Grew up here... There is some current development happening here. . . Stay tuned
Clarksdale is a great Blues town. Love the place.
Everytime you go here there are always tourists taking pictures. Do not run them over. they are a swarm.
Pleasant, Clean, imaculate As It Befits A Great Mid- South Community Immaculate & pleasing 99% of the Occassions.
Its in my city! In honor of the late great Robert Johnson!
I usually go to the laundry and Tiger Mart, and get a burger or gyro , clean open spacious, the owners are always friendly.
Interesting to see for Blues afficiandos. Its just a sign in the middle of an intersection, so if you are expecting more than that you will be disappointed. Depending on the location of the sun, it can be difficult to get a selfie with the sign. The day I stopped by, there was a panhandler who saw me pull up into the Churchs Chicken parking lot and came over. I imagine he stakes out The Devils Crossroads sign as he knows that many tourists will stop by, so possibly be prepared for panhandlers. By the way, I didnt see the Devil the day of my visit.
Great landmark for history.
Good lunch place.... A little bit over priced but overall not bad
Its was fun I got me some money
Learned a lot about musicians here in Clarksdale and Tunica!
The best Bar B Q
People are so critical!!! The story itself is enough to make this location extra cool!!! At one time it was just a dirt road. They built the city around this location. I didnt get to stop bc I was in my big rig. But I plan on searching for a place to park her when I have more time and going see this corner again. I passed it not realizing this was the exact location!!! How freaking awesome!!! I hate that I didnt get to fully appreciate where I was. I will also visit the museums in the area as well! CANT WAIT!!!
Great place nice people
Historical location had to stop and see a piece if history.
Its a decent spot for a photo op, but not much more. Proximity to Abes makes it a must on a Mississippi history tour.Note: my experience may be a one-off, but I would suggest using the buddy system, especially if youre an obvious tourist. I was waiting alone in my car when a panhandler came up and started beating on my passenger window. (It wasnt a tap; he was attempting to break it.) Im not certain what my next move would have been; he ran as soon as other people pulled into the lot.
Best LIQUOR STORE IN CLARKSDALE
It is a cross road. Stop there, take a picture and move on.
Because of its cultural value and history
Iconic blues spot in Clarksdale, MS
I hope to go here one day, just to stand at the crossroads. It may not seem like much, but its a Blues Fans must see :)
Historical place.. The landmark is cool.
My home town no better place
Great place to eat with family and friends
Historically significant location but there isnt much here. Eat at Abes if youre here.
Its an real lovely place to visit I go through there almost every day..
Nothing special . Just a location in a small, poor miss. Town.
Great service and staff good food
Its got a Churchs Chicken though. You Know Satan love him some fried chicken!!
This is a must-see for any fan of the Delta Blues. Its truly a spiritual experience.
The best-known of numerous sites claiming to be the Devils Crossroads where Robert Johnson sold his soul to the Devil for guitar prowess.Today, the site is a busy intersection of two busy roads in Clarksdale. The monument is unremarkable.
Paid my respects to the blues here. Its a shame the town is so poor but its vibe is so amazing. A must for blues lovers on a trip
Cool place stopped here to get my Blues on!
Mystic Music History!
Took awesome picks
The best bar b q in the south
This is either going to be a 5 star or 1 star experience for you, depending on how much you love the blues.
They have good service
Just a crossroads. But thats the one where Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil! There is a big sign and you can take pictures. Nothing more - just the legend.
This is not the actual spot. Its a tourist trap basically. The actual spot is about a mile away.
Im from Clarksdale Ms
Very nice scenery and stylish I am at the crossroad.
The place where Robert Johnson sold his soul to be a good blues musician - very impressive
Not much to see and it invokes no emotion.
I love you Clarksdale, MS
Just passing by took some pictures
Went to see apart of history
Not what I expected but pretty neat
Did not see the Devil..But hey! Maybe thats a good thing
I will going to Js Laundromat to dry my clothes
Let’s hope this works ! Haha
The monument stands in the middle of a busy cross section of roads. You will need park somewhere to get a photo. There is a building that has been bulldozed in that leaves a cement foundation to stand on for the photo. But rumor from the locals is the crossroad is actually somewhere outside of town.... True? Maybe...
Amazin
