We thought this place was really intriguing, and would like to go back. However, we went at dusk and we were attacked by huge biting flies. We have our backyard biting flies but these were like mini horse flies, and maybe they were horse flies. If you were another person watching Im sure it was humorous as we fought these flies, ran through as fast as we could stopping for just a brief picture in the trees until we were safely in our car (shew). I would recommend making sure you wear repellent, we thought we had ours and didnt... big mistake.

Lovely morning exploring the reserve. Plenty of wildlife and beautiful scenery. Nice paths in some areas. Boots recommend... It is a wetlands swamp. Some areas are very wet. There are several boardwalks that lead out onto the swamp where you can get a closer look at the wildlife in and above the water. Great place for photography and hiking.

Very interesting little stop. Places like this need to be preserved as long as possible. Was surprised to read that this may be one of the last kettle lakes left in Ohio

Pretty fun an interesting place to go. Never knew I could go see a swamp in central Ohio. The trail is pretty beat up an not the best for younger kids. Lots of different birds for bird watching!
