Beautiful setting, entrance and interior. Friendly staff, reasonably priced, parking validated with ticket purchase. Family friendly, large open spaces, not to crowded the day we went. New Apollo Neil Armstrong exhibit and the old historic train exhibits brought back this year are both excellent, informative, educational and fun. Your children likely would enjoy the train exhibits and the air and space experience. Give the gift of sharing time and an experience together at something everyone can enjoy thats fun, historic and entertaining.

Some really cool history, architecture and art with just the building itself. Now toss in some amazing exhibits they curate and informatively put together. A train tower and kids area (closed during covid-19) that is engaging and fun for the whole family. Plus the Omnimax with shows that are always entertainment and educational. Oh yeah, and the staff is always super friendly and helpful. Please go here and help keep this place a part of historic Cincinnati!

This was a cool museum complex, and a great spot to visit during 2020! Traffic flow was well marked in exhibits to help people space, and staff were very friendly and clear to explain the guidelines. The exhibits themselves were really fun, too! The space portion of the natural history wing had a really cool lay-out that kept the information exciting. The Maya exhibition was truly beautiful to walk through, and I enjoyed finishing the exhibit with a look at modern people and culture!

We went to explore the holidays around the world. This was a free event in the terminal area. We learned about Christmas, Hanukkah, Lucys day and many different other traditions. We only paid to park but had fun marveling at the terminal interior and learning facts and doing crafts. I would recommend this to other families. There is also a New Years Eve event that we have never been to. But for $6 just to park it is a pretty reasonable event.

I loved it. What a wonderful place. The City has also recently renovated the station to provide a better visitor experience and the definitely got it right. Make no mistake, this station, built in the 1930s, is still an in operation train station (Amtrak) as well as a visitor center, houses several museums and special exhibits, and has some of the best value for the buck restaurants you could find anywhere. This special place deserves everyones support, and its a wonderful destination for any family age toddlers to grandparents. And there is more that you could possibly see over numerous days making a year pass an exceptional deal.I visit a lot of places and write hundreds of reviews, and this place is definitely in the elite tier of family activity destinations in my opinion. Highly recommended.

If you have never been here, this is an amazing place and definitely worth going. Lots of stuff to see and do for both kids and adults. So, why only 3 stars? Because, as good as it may look to a first time visitor, long-time fans of this place know that there’s a lot more, still under renovation and cleverly hidden from view.My recommendation based on numerous visits over the past decade: If you have never visited, go and have a good experience. Remember your experience and make plans to return and see even more after all of the renovations are completed. If you have visited here before, my honest recommendation is to wait for a while before you return, especially if, like me, your visit involves a 2 hour or more drive. I’m sure that I am over simplifying this, but my first impression of the “major renovation” project is simply a paint job in the lobby and some improved bathrooms. Everything on the natural history side beyond the cave is closed. On the Cincinnati history side, most of the model train dioramas are accessible, but that is where this side ends. The river boat and model historical town are still accessible, but only via the underground passage created by the children’s play area on the lower level. The Apollo 11/Neil Armstrong temporary exhibit was underwhelming. If you are interested in this kind of thing, there’s a lot more to see, with free admission, at the Air Force museum less than an hour away.

I’m so disappointed in the Cincinnati Museum Center. My plan for my fall break was to come down and see the Women’s Suffrage exhibit. I’ve been looking forward to this for quite some time. I got here and found the parking lot nearly empty, signs on the doors saying they’re closed for a private event and employees guarding the doors. The website says nothing about being closed, they’re is no sign at the front of the parking lot about it being closed and nothing in the member newsletter about a closure. It is even more important during these difficult time to communicate with your members and other customers so you don’t tick people off and have them decide not to renew their memberships. As a former employee of CMC I have always believed it can do better but time after time I see serious neglect of details and lack of attention paid to the people on the ground who most interact with visitors.

Any excuse to visit this amazing building is valid. This time I went to see the Apollo 11 exhibit. I was a little disappointed by the size of the exhibit; I was by myself and really took my time and I still didnt less than an hour and a half inside. Always a fun place to visit! There have been many updates since I was a child and when I walked up the front steps, passing the fountain I felt as if I was a teenager again, visiting with my family. Childrens museum had so many fun, hands-on things to do.. The water play and kitchen were particular hits on this visit. There is some construction by the miniature city/train but still lots to see (yes, theres still a pretend at one of the buildings!). Theyve added a virtual reality dinosaur activity (that is extra but only around $5-6) on the other side with many more hands-on activities. We saw Cuba in the Omnimax and I highly recommend it. The music, people, water life, architecture... Beautiful!

I was there about 10 years ago and made it a point to see the largest half-dome, art-deco terminal in the world built in 1933. The terminal has been a National Historic Landmark since 1977. It was worth the walk from downtown to stroll up the long gardened driveways and restored fountains to enter a transit palace! Amtrak’s “Cardinal” between N.Y. and Chicago stops here thrice weekly, as it has since 1991.If I could leave ️ ️️️️+️, I would!

It has multiple museums inside this art deco restored building: childrens museum, science, city history, and special exhibits. I would say none individually are excellent, collectively its an interesting place to spend a half day. Childrens museum was alright though not something that will draw me back (ball area was more suited to 7+ and water area for 2 and lower). Enjoyed the physics play area in the science area best, along with the large model replica of the city in the city history area. It is mostly stroller friendly, bathrooms on lower renovated levels are plentiful and nice. Do carry your tickets to go in and out of the different museums. What makes this place special is that the building itself is beautiful. Note that the stone and high ceilings do make for a very loud experience with the echoing of all the kids . Pay for parking when you buy your passes. On the day we went there was ample parking available.

We visited the childrens museum and a part of the seasonal train display and the Lego room. We have a 14 month old and she loved it! There was plenty for her to do and for children of all ages! My only complaint is the price. It was $14.50 per adult, $5.50 for our daughter, and $6 parking. Makes it hard to afford the whole family to visit. They do offer you a pass and that total you paid will be deducted. They have a room with a bunch of plastic balls everywhere and simple machines and air tubes that all connect. One minute you are launching a ball at a target, the next, a bucket is dumping a handful of balls on you. She enjoyed herself. They also have a huge dramatic play area with a grocery, vet, restaurant, house, etc.. they also have an area with huge blocks to build with and a rock pile that kids can use a crane to play in. Our favorite was the huge water table. They have water proof vests and dryers, that was nice. There is also a big jungle gym that looks like a wooded area. Definitely geared more toward older kids... 3 and up but I was able to go up with her.We walked through the Lego Land and it was so cool. They have buildings and forests full of Legos. The detail to design was just amazing. There was so much and we could have easily spent all day there. The bathrooms were clean and the whole place seemed to be tidy.
