Our experience with this club was with the 2010 girls team. Although they have some skilled players, coach encourages dirty play (ie high elbows and playing player not ball). During tournaments, team was known to take out top players from opposing team. In one tournament they took out two of our girls from behind resulting in one of our players being out for over a week. During a championship match, they took out the opposing teams best player within the first 2 minutes. Sad to see this kind of play at such an early age.

My experience was in boys division. I felt like my son 8 years old got discriminated by the couch. I was honest with him and told him my son doesn’t have that much experience playing soccer but he’s excited to learn. He told me to bring him back where they usually practice. I brought my son 3 times and wait there but they never show up so I called him and he just say we’re in another park. He don’t treat with respect and bunch of lies!

This is a pretty good organization for girls but on the boys side of it there is a strange cult like mentality with quasi religious tones laced into their agenda that doesn’t match the personalities running the show very well. I’m very disappointed with how they’ve treated us with regard to getting a release to play for a team much closer to home that we can more easily afford. These guys are only interested in money and it seems, as someone mentioned before, on the boys side they only care about the academy teams which aren’t even that good. They are good business people at Legends but as far as being good people- not so much.

Our experience was with Legends East Riverside. Our time there was a waste of time and money. Our daughter was on the 07 girls team and hated every minute of it. This club was mostly about their brand & appearances. Her coach didn’t focus on developing them as players. Instead, he would berate them for not winning when there was little guidance on his part to help them win. Instead, he’d sit on a soccer ball and leave them to their own devices and occasionally throw in a few words of input. He told all parents he isn’t obligated to play any player and that even if players left, he would always have a “job.” Essentially, he looked at his players as $$ in Legends pocket book, instead of young girls aspiring to become great athletes. Eventually, I had to pull my daughter out before the season started, because I knew it would become a waste of our time. She is now on a local Club team that focuses on developing players, fostering team work, & is with a coach who treats his kids with respect and we couldn’t be happier. I’d advise anyone considering paying $2k to this club to run as fast as you can & to find another club.
