I have gone to see this outdoor drama 2xs, and I loved it both times. It is full of action and tells a great story. The actors are great. The scenery is awesome and the effects are cool. The stage area is visible from all seats. They have a nice buffet and cute gift shop full of neat gifts from dream catchers, jewelry, clothing, toys etc. There is plenty of parking and getting out afterwards isnt bad, they keep the cars moving to exit the parking areas. Overall a very nice experience both times. You wont be disappointed.

Incredible action packed play! Intimate seating with great views from everywhere. Does get loud, bring ear plugs for kids. Actors are so kind and humble, they greeted the audience at the exits and thanked us for coming to the show. Gift shop and snacks reasonably priced. Bring bug spray and dress for the weather, you are outside which is the best part of the experience.

My wife my daughter and I went there to start our summer vacation. We opted to do the behind-the-scenes tour. The tour guides were kind and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour.We also had the meal that they serve there. Buffet was good. The play is a must-see. my father and mother took me to it and I took my daughter to it and I hope she takes her children someday. The gunfire and the action takes you by surprise even if you know whats going to happen. The actors were very kind and stayed for photographs after the show. My daughter really enjoyed this particularly. However it might be nice if they updated one small part of the 50 year old script... One of Tecumsehs people refers to themselves as Indians. Id be curious to what the Native Americans called themselves and change that part of the script.Great show!

A fablous Show. Great amphitheatre, superb cast, a fablous story that needs to be told, retold, and never forgotten. From the rock background to the river and authentic looking cast you feel as if you are there while it is happening. When the horses cross the river (in the beginning) you realize this will be a show like no other. When my daughter heard the gun blasts she said mommy I know what it really sounded like and smelled like. The staff were courteous and helpful. We waited and treated the cast afterwards. They took the time to pose for photos with my daughter. I would suggest purchasing the book it has a lot of historical information and if you have a very curious child (like my daughter) it helps to answer questions and she kept it in the car for at least 6 months and would read it to me while I was driving. Also if you have a young child or a noise sensitive person, purchase the earplugs it does get loud at times. In my opinion the noise only makes it more realistic. Take the time to visit Tecumseh Outdoor Drama its worth the drive. You will have a great time and the kids can learn something at well.

We brought our grandsons to the show on Saturday night. This is the third time bringing them. We always have a great time. The show is great and theres not a bad seat in the house. As 9 year old boys, of course they love the gun fights and cannon fire! My only complaint is the parking, not that it is bad but its the NO BACK IN POLICY, my husband is a professional driver and always backs into a parking space. Its a safety thing. If you back in in the daylight then you can safely pull out in the dark. There are so many people and children walking around after dark when everyone is trying to leave it would be so much safer if you choose to back in. I just dont understand that policy because you have to back out in the dark. Again great show!!!

While I enjoyed the buffet and play, there needs to be some improvement for handicap accessability. Its really not, and that makes it difficult to get around. For example, the top of the amphitheatre, has a sloping floor. Constant challenge to walk on if you have a cane like I do. Just for ease of getting tickets, keep in mind you come in at the top, so if getting to facilities is an issue, youll want seats close to the top. I enjoyed it, I just wish it were easier to get around.

Always something new and exciting. It keeps you on the edge of your seat in suspension. Shared a pretzel with pub cheese and pizza with my daughter they was delicious. It was a great night. Looking forward to doing it again next year.

This is such a great experience for the whole family (minus small children because of the cannons and gunfire). The venue is much larger than expected, really nice outdoor theater. There is a gift shop, restuarant, snack bar you are able to purchase from but they are expensive so I recommend taking a drink with you. After the performance you are able to meet with the performers which is pretty cool.Definitely a memorable experience and one full of the history of our nation.

It is an annual trip my family makes yearly! Some pro tips to consider when coming to this amazing reenactment is, be prepared to answer some questions children may ask about rather in graph scenes in the play. Also, if you have any sensitive ears joining you in relation to noise I highly suggest ear plugs. For those mamas with little ones, they have a quiet room which has AC and you can still watch the show without concern of bothering others which was a fantastic bonus. Also, I suggest giving yourself an hour and a half from the moment you park until the play starts, so you have time to pick up your tickets, find your seats, and grab some snacks! Have a blast when youre there and be prepared for loud sounds.

We did the VIP experience which included the back stage tour and buffet dinner before the show. The tour was great, and the dinner was delicious. The setting was great, and the actors and actresses did a great job. The only problem was that they dont use microphones. We sat way toward the back, and could hardly hear anything they said. They definitely need to either use microphones, or record their lines so you can hear them. We went to the passion play in eureka springs, Arkansas, where they recorded their lines, and you could hear everything they were saying. That is the thing that disappointed me about Tecumseh, not being able to hear much of the script.

Goodness how fun this is! A nice change to normal dates! We did the Sleepy Hollow Experience also. It is usually very crowded but plenty of space with the outdoor area. The actors are rather good and the horses are well behaved during the shows. The sleepy hollow experience had some plays on sex that Im not sure I would of wanted to bring my little ones along to. BUT I doubt younger kids get it anyway. So that would be up to you as a parent. I would go back for sure! Use bug spray!!!

I was invited as a surprise and hadn’t done much research as to what I was getting into before we got there, but I was not disappointed. The seating was nice, the location was great and not too hot. The bathrooms were clean, but they were a bit crowded during intermission. The gift shop was air conditioned and had many choices at reasonable prices. I absolutely loved the show. My children were all 6 and under but were able to sit through and enjoy the show. The gunshots were a bit loud at times but the program ($5) highlights each act that will contain gunfire so you can prepare yourself. The first act was a bit graphic but given the topic it’s understandable and important to stay close to actual events (again had it not been a surprise I would have done more research before and I would have prepared the kids a little better but it’s in no way a reflection of the theater). All the actors were amazing and never left character. The actors who played Tecumseh and his sister really stole the show for me but everyone was amazing, hands down! If you haven’t seen it yet, you should!

The tickets for the concert were a little pricey and more than what we usually would pay for performers we were not that familiar with. My husband and I really enjoyed both bands. The music wss very good. Unless more well known performersare scheduled I am not sure we will attend further concerts. The surrounding area around the stage works well for the concerts as well as the play.It was a lot of fun. We managed to park in the handicap area as both myself and my friend we able to get to the concert area. We are both handicapped. Expanding the handicap parking area would be a good idea. The wigs and accents range from bad to passable. The performances range from competent to very good. The costumes range from cheap to fantastic. And the spectacle ranges from stunning to awesome.Theres a lot of things that could use work here, sure. But the totality of the experience is well worth the ticket price. The stage effectively surrounds the audience with horses and actors entering and leaving from the flanks at the back of the theater. Add to that the body of water that serves as a river for narrative purpose, the large general-purpose set pieces, their use of the woods behind the river as a sort of living background and finally the cannon and musket fire and what youre left with is a truly immersive experience. The fourth wall is less broken than dissolved, creating the sense for the viewer that you are present for the events and not watching them through a screen. My 10 year old niece was pretty meh on this going in. But by the end she was in love and I dont think she stopped grinning on the entire drive back to Columbus. Further, judging by the reactions of the other kids present, I think its safe to say this is a spectacular experience for children. All that said, this show is kind of overwhelming from a sensory experience. If you have a kid whos sensitive to those things, this show will almost certainly trigger them.I was also, honestly, a little concerned about the political content of the show. Im certainly not the sort of person who thinks Appalachians are unsophisticated rubes by any stretch. But when a city-slicking, Trump-hating liberal goes to a show with potentially sensitive racial issues in Chillicothe, Ohio they will almost certainly be a little apprehensive.Im happy to report, though, that I generally found the show unproblematic. Im far from an expert on Native American issues and culture, but I feel like Im far more attuned to them than the average white person and I didnt see any major red flags. The characters of all races tend to be complex and fully-realized. Theres little trade in stereotypes. And the fact that Graham Greene performs the recorded narration serves as a decent indication to me that the play is pretty uncontroversial to Native Americans.All-in-all I would definitely recommend. The writing isnt the most sophisticated. And I mentioned some other problems above. All of which prevent me from giving it a 5-star rating. But just talk to any adult who saw the show as a child and they can confirm, that it is an experience a kid will remember for the rest of their life.
