Great park offering catch and release fishing, a North Face Rock Climbing installation and walking paths with wheelchair and stroller accessibility. Playground, basketball court and more just across the street.A good place to stop by for a socially distanced picnic with a nice view of the city skyline!

I love, love this local park! It’s not too crowded to jog in. Their paths, stairs and bridge make this park unique and a joy to visit. Nog to mention the view of our beautiful city!! I also like their tennis courts. They have 4 (or 5), and although it’s seldom they they are unoccupied, 3/5 times were able to catch a game after 5 pm.

I enjoy taking my daily walk or jog here. To up the ante on my walks, I have the choice of walking up and down the hill or using the pavement inclines. On nice, weather-permitting, sunny days I can just sit on top of the hill and look over Halsted Street or watch the geese and ducks take a dip in the pond.

Yes! Yes! Yes!Next door to McGuane Park, nestled into the fabric of the neighborhood. This is a getaway, when you have 20 minutes or 2 hours. A mini arboretum, a faux botanical garden, a semi nature escape. This place offers excitement for each of your senses. Theres always people around, but its never crowded. You can fly a kite, take a hike, fish, walk, or gaze. Definitely a place to exhale.

Was here visiting Chicago with family today, looking for something to do and someplace to go. Found Golden State Park! What a great place! Its very big, and drivable, walkable, full of easy trails, bison to view, carousel that might be open again one day, beautiful Grove of trees with paths, lots of green areas! Free! I will definitely come back here again. Very soothing and clean.

This is a good place if you just want to walk. It also has a workout station with 3 or 4 exercises. The stone monument is great for pictures. There is a small lake. The miniprairie/nature preserve decor gives a great nature inside the city feeling to it. The small hill/plateau really works the legs, plus it gives a great 360 degree view of the neighborhood and downtown. All around a nice quiet place to get a low exertion workout.

Great place to relax and get a bit of nature in the city. The slow walk up the hill (or the informal shortcut on the east side) leads to impressive views on the city skyline. The park also features a great reservoir stocked with fish on the west side. Good way to spend 20-40 minutes and its free.

My fiance & I bring our son and niece here to fish. They always have a blast. Most of the fish they catch are blue gill but occasionally they catch a catfish or large-mouth bass. This Park also has trails to walk, a huge hill to climb up and roll down or go sledding down in the winter. There is a sanctuary for birds and bugs...butterflies especially. Altogether we always have a fabulous time here & I recommend anyone to bring their families or to go by themselves. It will be fun either way.
