One of the best things that Chicago made for their citizens. Bunch of things to do on the river include bars and restaurants. If you are a visitor like me you would love it, why we can’t have this in our cities, right? )))

Beautiful promenade lowered from the St level with great view of the Chicago river that stretch continuously on the south bank from W Lake St to N Lake Shore Dr (and Lake Michigan). The park is divided to sections by the streets/bridges. The west sections are more for sitting and hanging out, the middle sections have more business like cafe, ice cream shops and bars, and the east sections are more kids friendly whith playgrounds and also have kayaks rental.Great for walking (also with strollers or pets on leash), jogging or hanging out / picnic. Not for bicycles.Pedestrian, pets (with a leash) and strollers are welcome, bicycle are not.

If youve never been to Chicagos Riverwalk, I highly encourage you to check it out. Its blocks and blocks of restaurants, libations and the sparkling Chicago River with some of the worlds most beautiful architecture overhead. The riverwalk area between the Columbus Drive Bridge and Lake Shore Drive was especially beautiful the other day. The lovely renovated sidewalks and grounds were a welcome sight. Loved the river walk. Scenic and clean and I liked how they left parts of the park to grow more naturally, it gave animals places to live. People are personable and helpful with directions to out-of-towners like me. Didn’t get to see the pier this trip, but it gives me a reason to come back again .
