Such a fun time celebrating my boyfriends birthday at Ragnarok! John was our instructor and he was full of corny puns and fun games. We had a blast! It gets a little toasty in there, so I would recommend wearing lighter clothing. Otherwise, prepare for the most fun youve had in a long time.

Neil and Ingrid were great instructors. Well worth a visit.. Wear a t-shirt since it gets hot in there! Interesting old building its housed in with an amazing old elevator.

We had a super fun time for a girls night out with Hector and John! They are firstly hilarious, and secondly great teachers- axe throwing is harder than it looks, and they really try to help you succeed by giving specific pointers. The competitive game structure makes it perfect for getting to know new people, or trash talking your close friends. I would highly recommend this experience if youre in the city and want to do a fun group activity!

Me and my boyfriend went for date night cause we found it on Groupon and we had Sarah and hector as our teachers & they were absolutely wonderful! Sarah is such a ball of sunshine with a beautiful personality! She made our experience super fun and exciting! I highly recommend this especially if you looking to switch things up! Reasonably priced too!

Had a lot of fun and Hector was great not only at showing us how to throw but he was funny. Loved the atmosphere and I will definitely be back! Only negative is the room is small for a large group but it was manageable. Brought us closer!

We went for a team outing after work...and it was HILARIOUS! Great fun, too. Miss Noelle, our coach was wonderfully patient, encouraging and had a great sense of humor. I guess you have to if you are throwing axes around. There is a bit of a learning curve, but we all had some good sticks eventually. You dont have to have any particular build or strength to excel...so go, have a good time!

An amazing experience!! Had a lot of fun. John and Eddie did a great job keeping the group engaged and hosting the competitions. We were happy to know that they coach us during the whole time, And keep the competitions fun and exciting. It doesnt look like much first but it is well worth it! My friends and I will be talking about this for a long time :)

I had a great time throwing axes here with my family. It was my little brothers 21st bday. Mike the Vike showed us the ropes helped us stay safe and have a great time. Great high energy by this guy. Love the amount of games we played. I one in the end. So I showed my brother who was the champ. any way If you are Looking for something to do it safe during covid to wear a mask and a little purell and go to Ragnorok! PS People should throw things more

1st time throwing axes and it lived up to everything. Such a fun way to spend a couple hours. Bob and Jenifer made the experience great with there help on throwing and also making the environment a safe and fun.Highly recommend it to anyone that is thinking about throwing axes. Well worth it.

I went to celebrate my birthday with my best friend at Ragnarok and it was such a blast! If you plan to go, book the Asgard room and pray that your instructor is Ingrid - shes amazing! She was super fun, very patient, encouraging and made it look super easy. Cheers!

Our family of 6 went for our youngest daughters 14th birthday while we were visiting Chicago from out of town. We had a great time with a lot of laughter and gentle competition. Axe throwing was a little more difficult than we expected, but everyone was able to develop enough skill to make it thoroughly enjoyable. I was surprised at how quickly 90 minutes flew by. To top it off, our instructor/host, Bucky, was outstanding. He really helped to maximize the experience for us. Definitely recommend this for groups that are looking for something fun, active, and different.

I loved Noel, she had confidence and flair and was still supportive and encouraging as an instructor. She kept us entertained with her Viking and axe puns while giving us feedback to refine our technique. At the end, she offered to take our group photo. My group had a blast and I definitely want to do this again!

So much fun. Bucky was fantastic. I was a complete beginner and he took the time to teach me and give me excellent tips. We could tell he was having just as much fun as we were and was a great ref in all the games we played. I’ll definitely come back!

AC the axe-pert is AMAZING! We had a great time. We enjoyed friendly competition, and some not friendly haha. She was able to help us throughout the time and make sure our stance was on point. We had a blast and look forward to coming back.

Was looking for something different to do with a few friends and ended up deciding on axe throwing- something we had talked about for quite a while! We did some research on axe throwing in the city and ended up here because it is the only place in the city where you can make reservations for a small group. It was just a hair more than the other walk in locations, but TOTALLY worth it. Our Axepert Sarah was great- funny, engaged and gave great advice. We were super impressed with the number of games they created, then got to have fun at the end practicing trick throws. We will definitely be back- a fun Chicago winter outing that isnt a bar!!!

I truly believed that I would retire in the small hole in a mountain my father dug. When his best wizard-friend, Cullen, came to my hobbit-hole, I knew I was in for the adventure of a lifetime.Boy, was it!Cullen taught me to face the fears I never knew I had in ways I never knew I could.One time, bandits approached us. Well, they tried to. With Cullen’s preparation, I knocked them betwixt the eyes with an axe. They fell a little and melted into purple smoke like in that one Zelda game.Cullen gave me that. No one else would.What a journey.Three stars, the pizza someone else ordered smelled bad.

Had a blast in my first axe throwing experience! Our instructor, Ethan the Tall, was a great host and made the overall experience that much better. He was funny, witty, and made sure that the experience didnt get old by introducing different games and competitions along the way. Will definitely be doing again.

A last minute afternoon schedule change during our downtown Chicago visit this weekend gets five stars!!! Sarah our instructor was very entertaining and energetic! Totally recommend honing your skills with axe throwing at Ragnorak. Yes, it’s a bucket list item you can’t pass up.

When I arrived at ragnarok I was but a mewling calf. Through the rigorous yet loving tutelage of Cullen, I have become a man. I am now six inches and smell of pine. Thank you, Cullen, for teaching me to love.

The business was in a very cool Art Deco building. I had always wanted to try axe throwing and Im very happy with where my first experience was. Our instructor was great and explained the technique very clearly. I wasnt aware of how much technique there was to throwing an axe!

After hearing about axe throwing for awhile and wondering what all the hype was about, I saw a Groupon for Ragnarok and thought it would be a fun outing with some friends. It was worth every penny! Ted and Cullen, our axemasters, were awesome! My friends and I had such a great time and would definitely go back again! If youre looking for a night out and want to try something new, definitely go to Ragnarok to try axe throwing!

This is such a fun experience! You learn how to throw, play games, and have a good time. A group of 12 so you can have everyone on your lane be your friends is a great way to go if you can. Robert was amazing and added a lot of humor and enjoyment to the experience. Definitely recommend! I have been twice and would totally go again

Had a great time celebrating my husband’s birthday, Steven was great!!

We had 13 people, there were two cages but only one was available due to a second employee heading out at the start of our session. The remaining axe-master Hector made everyone feel comfortable and kept the jokes flowing throughout the evening.We spent a lot of time waiting around to throw after getting to throw a single time.Overall, this was more of a “Ragnorok, stand around and watch everyone else throw axes” experience.I have included photos of the un-used cage we got to stare at for an hour and a half while waiting so you have an idea what the majority of the time will look like with a big group and a single cage.Put my body on a boat, send it out to sea and shoot that flaming arrow into my floating pyre.

Find a group of friends, or even acquaintances, and go throw axes for a couple of hours! So much fun and more belly laughs than your usual outing. Our group of 10 was lucky enough to get Derek as our “axepert” who made sure to train us and keep the games and fun moving along. Don’t be intimidated, ANYONE can do it.

Teams Kiss My Axe and Horse Axes had a MARVELOUS experience at Ragnarok Axe Throwing. Buckets and buckets of good fun, nobody lost a limb, and we were all utterly delighted, entertained, and well-trained by the lovely Miss Noelle, who was so much fun and so thoroughly engaged in ensuring our good time...many many thanks!

This was an amazing experience! Although Chicago has similar temperatures as the land of vikings, most wouldn’t think of throwing axes as something to do in the city of Chicago. I had loads of fun and I’m very glad that I found this spot last minute as a way to celebrate my brother’s bachelors party. And thank you Ashley aka “The Ashter” for being such an amazing host! She did an amazing job!

Went for a 6 person work group event with some great and competitive people. Noelle was super helpful in encouraging us and offering tips and tricks and getting into the spirit of it all. We had a great time playing the games set up for us-which were perfect for a work group. Not sure how she has the guts to stand in the cage while people are tossing heavy, sharp objects but I would recommend for something different and fun.

My friend and I were lucky to get a session where it was just the two of us for 90 minutes. We were EXTRA lucky to get a spot in the new room with the giant beautiful windows overlooking Buckingham Fountain. Ingrid was our gracious host for the afternoon. She was super helpful, patient, encouraging, and we had great conversations the entire time! She also took lots of pictures and video for the two of us while we threw the axes. Had an amazing time at Ragnarok in the loop! I didn’t know what to expect going into it and thought it would be more like those axe throwing bars similar to bowling where they give you a lane and leave you alone but it was so much better. We had a group of 10 and our instructor John was awesome! He helped us all individually with form so we could enjoy the experience and leave with a bullseye (it’s much harder than it looks). The first part is learning then it’s team games which I think makes the experience far more enjoyable. My boyfriend and I came just us two but it was quickly a fun group game that got competitive in the best way. An hour and a half of fun with a cool new skill we took away. Thank you John for a wonderful fun night! Will definitely recommend :)

My groomsmen and I went to the Valhalla room for my bachelor party and had a great time! Ryan was super helpful in instructing us on how to throw the axes as well as being energizing for the games we played. We had an awesome time! My only thing to note: If you book the Valhalla room, itd be very cramped with a large group.

What a great experience! My son and 8 did it together. The events were awesome and Mark, our guide throughout the experience was masterful at mixing safety and fun! I would encourage everyone to do this! We will be back next time I am in town!

Really dont go here, its built for children. There are sooooo many better axe throwing places for ages 10+. If you enjoy being treated like a child (or are a child) youll probably have a good time. If you are older than 11 youll probably feel patronized

I had a great time with this. It is fun and easy for everyone to enjoy. I am older (56) and cant partake of a lot of the sports I loved to play years ago. It was nice to find a competitive sport that was fun and easy on the body. I was visiting a friend in Indianapolis are and she planned this for us. It was the best fun I have had in a long time. I hope I get the name right, there was Rick and Pork Chop at the place and they were awesome. Great fun.

Our instructor Ingrid was really awesome. My boyfriend and I went in today and had a complete blast. I wasn’t the best, but he managed to win us a water bottle and a ticket to the escape room. Great couples activity with lots of fun games, and bragging rights. 10/10 would recommend.

We had such a fun time at the Escape the 90s escape room. We had previously done the Zombie escape room so we knew we were going to get a quality experience. The room itself was incredibly detailed and took me back to my youth. It was literally like I had stepped back in time. Our guide, Ashley, was really kind, funny, and felt like she was part of our group from the very beginning.

Very fun! Hector and Derek were great teachers! We played in a team against the other players in well thought out games. Great way to spend a Thursday! The building that it is in is pretty awesome as well. The fine arts building reminds me of CPS elementary schools!
