This facility contains several small theaters with a shared lobby area. Many local theater companies use these spaces, and they work quite well. There is a bar in the lobby area, with a nice selection of wine and cocktails. Its a great cultural resource for the community.

Its a great theater, bar upfront to grab drinks and snacks (no major food though so dont come hungry). The seats are fairly comfortable but if you are coming after work like I was, expect to be a little cramped. The set was great and I would definitely go back depending on the production.

This embodies the best of what a small independent theater should be! When I was there, there was a musical showing and an opera! There are several small theaters, a very decent snack bar, and reasonable prices. If I lived in ther Chicago area, I would absolutely become a member, just for all the choices, and to support them!

Great experience working with them. Theater 3 was a lovely and very flexible venue for our production, and came well equipped. I’ve also enjoyed several late night shows there (Afterparty) and had a blast! I do wish they had changing tables for my baby, but other than that the space is great, and the staff were very accommodating when I brought her.

I would like to give 0 stars but then I could not comment. Theater Wit cancelled an event they had already signed a contract to provide space for because it was a heavens forbid....conservative group running the event! Cowards and closed minded at best. Thats the liberal agenda. Free speech is fine as long as its speech we approve of.

Shame on you for the horrific treatment of a solid group of American Citizens who went out if their way, spent a tremendous amount of time and money to be there only to be turned away at the last minute! Wish I could give this venue zero star review. They recently descriminated against a group by cancelling the venue at the last minute. Apparently they dont allow people of various skin color, backgrounds, nationality, and sexual orientation if they dont vote Democrat. I hope they are held accountable for their hate.

Never seen a bad production here. They have exceptional programming, a clean facility and a friendly staff. It can get crowded but that’s always an exciting energy to be around when you’re at the theatre. I would say, if it’s playing at the Wit - you should definitely get tickets. Extraordinarily, David Cromer directed a production of The Normal Heart that blew me away.

Cowardly place that caved to political propaganda and banned a LGBTQ+ panel from hosting a town hall after taking the money and signing the contract. These people are cowards and part of the people sowing political and social division by working to silence those with an opinion that differs from theirs. They also do this at the last possible minute to make it that much harder for those trying to speak to be able to find a replacement venue. I find this despicable behavior. I will never try to rent this venue or participate in an event at this venue ever again. They have declared their position as anti 1st amendment, anti LGBTQ+ and anti American.

They cancelled a contract with people that they dont agree with politically. Calling us racist and bigots...Im sick and tired of all of the name calling. I stand for the LGBTQ community in all places including the conservative voice. It is disgusting that you did not allow the #Walkaway event take place so that the LGBTQ conservative community could come together in a safe place to talk about the issues that they desperately need to discuss. Theater Wit is absolutely NOT a friend of the LGBTQ community and they are indeed Fascists.

This theater cancelled a paid for event with contracts signed at the last minute for a LGBT town hall with 300 tickets purchased after they found out that the founder who is gay man, his panelist a Gay jewish man & a trans-gender woman wanted to discuss why LGBTs continue to vote Democrat. The theater management called them Facists and other horrible names. This place does not support open discussion only group think.

This establishment are bigots to conservatives. They canceled a lbtg townhall event that was being put on by #walkaway that welcomed anyone who wanted to come. Wit theater canceled their event with 24 hrs or less than that before it took place. This is incredibly unprofessional and bigoted to boot. Doesn’t matter if you are gay, black, a woman, a Jew etc, If you don’t follow the exact thinking of their style of extreme liberalism then they hate you as seen with what they did to the #walkaway lbtg town hall event.

These people do not honor their contract. Also they lied and tried to defame Brandon’s Straka and his #WalkAway movement. I guess they didn’t learn from the jerks who tried the same thing in NYC who are now facing a libel lawsuit after pulling the same thing. You preach tolerance and inclusivity but you are the intolerant and exclusive ones. You say you support LGBT voices but you really only support LGBT voices that agree with you. Brandon and his panel are part of the LGBT community but they think for themselves and are not sheep who follow their slave master which is the democrat party. The people who make up the #WalkAway movement are former democrats and liberals who just can’t take the intolerance anymore.

Have seen two fabulous plays at Theater Wit. And one not so fabulous. I admire their willingness to take on unusual subjects. The production values are excellent for such a small operation. The whole place clearly runs on a shoestring budget but is designed to serve the community by providing space for other small companies to rent for productions. Kudos to Theater Wit.... Cannot comment on over priced drinks but my experience with lobby drinks from opera to movie houses is they always cost a fortune so wouldnt be surprised if that were the case here.

A gem of a theater, we saw a play called How to Use a Knife which had an enthusiastic cast despite its ambiguous theme. The facility itself has 3 main stages; the one I went to was an alley stage with two sections of seating opposite each other and the stage in the middle. Overall a lovely night.

I love seeing shows at The Wit! The staff at the box office are always friendly and eager to help me, no matter how many questions I have. The theaters themselves are small enough for an intimate show, but large enough for a rousing audience. Its an inexpensive way to get into local Chicago theater, and its even close to home. I cant stress this enough - if youre not sure what to do on a Saturday night, go see a show at The Wit.
