This is a very unique Museum. Im not off Polish decent, but I do love history. I wouldve given this five stars, but the musuem completely broach the subject of the Poles that died during the Holocaust. Six million, is a bit too much to not include it

The history and the background of how this museum came about is very interesting and amazing! I left the museum feeling like I have gained so much knowledge and awareness of Poland and its history/“culture more than ever before! Our guide Beatrix is an awesome person. Her passion and knowledge about this topic are very inspiring to me. If you visit Chicago and are interested in learning about Polish/European history and WWII, you need to visit this place!!!

PMA is a must place to visit for everybody, not only with polish roots. Always something interesting on display and always you can learn something new. Great people are coming there and you can meet with them, listen to them and talk to them. People who are working in the Polish Museum and volunteers are friendly, always with smile, and they have huge amount of knowledge. I hope PMA will stay on the Chicagos map for next hundreds of years! and btw they are located in very good spot!

The museum is full of history. The art works are superb. The largest stain glass window in North America is incredible in the story it tells. Take the guided tour. We had Beatrice and she was superb in getting you involved with the tour. Did you know that Polish generals were responsible for developing and training the calvary in the USA per invitation from President Washington? You dont have to be Polish to enjoy this place. Free parking too.

The staff of the museum are wonderful people. There was a lady who met us right off of the elevator in the main hall who was very sweet and knowledgeable about the artifacts and Polish history. The exhibits were very well done and the Paderewski exhibit was very good. Overall a good experience.

Amazing museum, went here at a slower time and the guide was so happy and enthusiastic to help us learn about polish history both in the United States and Poland. She did such an excellent job of engaging and teaching us throughout our experience, and I will gladly recommend this as place to visit for anyone who can make it a part of their time in Chicago.

Has a unique collection of art, historical and cultural artifacts. More than a few art pieces are of Art Institute of Chicago quality. In many cases the Polish Museum is the only place worldwide that certain artists work can be viewed. A significant portion of the collection consists the type of Inter World War artwork that was heavily destroyed by World War II bombing in Europe, as well as looting & vandalism. The artwork and historical artifacts however, often suffer from poor antiquated lighting, because of tight budgetary constraints. However recently many display cabinets have received updated lighting. If you havent been recently you, may be pleasantly surprised. Its a hidden gem in Chicago and worthy of your patronage & support!
