Unique skyspace on UIC campus. Computerized lighting effects at sunrise & set no longer working but still an amazing & special structure & space

Went there yesterday October 19th. The space is abandoned, one side of the space does not light up, it has a short cut. I went to the UIC offices a few feet away no one knew who even Turrell was, they said they didnt know the skyspace existed, yet alone it if worked. Its a shame a Turrell space is abandoned.

The installation is really in a state of disrepair. Its full of trash and the lights that come on at night to help accentuate the sky are half burned-out and blinking. Its a shame that UIC does not try to fix this because it occupies a very prominent spot on that intersection.

Beautiful sculpture for an evening star gaze, but the traffic really makes it a poor location for it.
