A stalwart champion of the blues. Funky bar on halstead. 2 stages alternating bands. Good selection of booze and beer. Fair service. Can take a bit to get served or refilled, mb was a staff member short that night. Prices werent that bad, especially for a live music joint of its reputation.

It is a great place for watching live blues and enjoy a night out.The club has two stages for bands/singers, in addition to a smaller room at the back to get snacks and take a quick break. Additionally the bar has a good selection of beers and drinks, with some seasonal varieties and combos. The main stage has a dancing floor in front of it in addition to sets of tables that still have a good view of the performers. Performances happen all night long switching from one stage to another -- so the performers are not competing for your attention --, and the quality of sound is excellent on both.Definitely worth a visit if you are in the Chicago area and want to enjoy live music.

Beautiful place, I went and listened to some blues and then some country, perfect place to come any night of the week for great live music. Not to be underestimated are the bartenders, they know how to make all the classics, the old fashioned and Manhattan I had were both delicious. Elevate your music experience!

Its a unique and iconic landmark of Chicago. A Blues Bar with the finest bands. There are two stages with two bands alternating and the crowd moving from one hall to the other. Its an unforgettable experience and I have always gone to Kingston Mines whenever I am in Chicago. An informal place. A must do!!!!

Ohhhhh what a night!!! Sunday night fun. Blues with a flair. Diverse band with beginners to experts. There is also young musicians in their teens practicing in-front if the crowd. Really nice to see mentors helping the new talent. Engaging and lively musicians that like to interact with the crowd. Drink prices are good and affordable. In Lincoln Park area. The Main guy that facilitated the evening is very colorful, he likes to engage with the crowd and makes funny “dirty” jokes to get people laughing. The crowd is mixed from young to older. Calm environment with a flair. Food is still being served at 11pm.

Had a really great time in Kingston Mines. All the staff are really friendly and service is quick. The food from Docs Rib Shack was OK but not as good as I was led to believe - also the name is a bit misleading - no ribs on the menu. Good beer selection at fair prices. Its all about the music here though. Corey Dennison and Rico McFarland both had great sets. Wished that I could have stayed longer.

If you are looking for some Iconic, no filter, live Chicago Blues, stop looking and just come here. Between 2 stages, the featured bands absolutely rock their sets. Base, harmonica, keyboard, horn, guitar, drums, and singers galore. You never know what kind of song you will have next, as it could be a blues classic, or a 9 minute riff that feels like pure Chicago spirit. There are tables for groups to hang out and enjoy, while also providing plenty of space to dance and enjoy the styles of these great bands. There are 3 different bars, serving up classics and a few Chicago specials. Open until 4am, you can listen to blues until your hearts content. Come, grab a drink, and just enjoy.

With a wide selection of beers and liquor, and an even wider selection of amazing vocal ranges, it is the perfect mix for a fun night out.Great to bring a date to for some one on one time, or a double date to show off how fun you are as a couple. Heck you could even make it a (insert gender here)s night and go as a group!Specializing in Jazz and Blues this bar has a lot of soul.
