Very nice for all age groups. Good facilities for disabled and challenged. Lot of animals. Good view points. Food options inside is bad.. Should be improved. Butterfly park and penguins are the best. Jaguar was majestic.. Double buggy can accommodate 2 kids only if they are less than 6-7 years. If anyone is more than that, better to go for 2 single buggies.. Enjoy..

Zoo is awesome !!! If you watching the program in the TV and after a few months you visit the place you got that awesome feeling of knowing animals and all the story’s about them. Really recommend to get tickets for 2 days, one day is not enough to fully enjoy yourself without rushing. Massive zoo. The map is a bit confusing but easy to hack once you’re there. Loads of places to eat and drink, picnic spots, smoking section, toilets ect. Highly recommend !!

Its always a great day at Chester Zoo! Amazing animals and well looked after, if you do visit you should definitely visit the chimpanzees and bat enclosure. Unfortunately when we last went, there was a local case of bird flu nearby so the bird enclosures were closed to protect the birds but from all the times Ive been before the open enclosures for the birds are great. Its amazing to have such a local zoo which genuinely looks after the animals welfare and funds great causes to improve wildlife all round!

Went as a spur of the moment decision and it was one of the best days out Ive had in a while, seen animals there I hadnt seen before and some of the enclosures seem to of been upgraded which is much nicer for the animals.Reduced numbers was heavenly as it wasnt packed and loud which in turn made all the animals more than happy to come right up to the fences/glass.Didnt have to constantly wear a mask only in enclosed areas and plenty of sanitation stations everywhere with no-contact entry. An orangutan also stuck its middle finger up at me which was fantastic

Chester zoo is one of the best in the UK. The facilities are amazing. Including hand sanitiser station everywhere, hundreds if not thousands. The animals seem to be in great health and have plenty of space. They are constantly building and improving enclosures for the animals. A great charity run by amazing staff and volunteers. We live within 30 minutes of the Zoo, so weve been many times. Its always a great day out, whatever the weather, and on this occasion it was frequent torrential showers! Most of the indoor spaces are open so we were able to miss most of the rain.I hate to mention C-19 but its important in the current circumstances. There are restrictions on numbers both to the zoo overall and to the indoor areas. The staff were great, supervision good but not obtrusive, and social distancing isnt a problem. There are sanitisers everywhere. It felt safe. The cafes are open but not all of the coffee shops. There are loads of pictures of animals posted already so Ive added one of the weather instead. Unfortunately the black clouds were heading our way!The 5 hours we spent there went very quickly as usual. Just go.

Great array of animals, in well designed enclosures.Food wasn’t the best cooked in the food court so got wasted. Also felt over capacity as any indoor enclosure had a 30-60 minute wait due to COVID restrictions. We pre-booked our tickets. Car park was not signed clearly which meant everyone was queuing at the incorrect entrance due to poor signage. We arrived at 10am the elephants were not out until later. Plenty of sanitizer stations. At every toilet there was a member of staff to ensure face masks were worn. Did not see the jaguars or tiger not sure where they were hiding. Only two areas to eat. At June’s food court mainly fish n chips and burgers which were ok but expensive no meal deals. No refill options. Best to take a picnic and plenty of benches. Overall, a great way to end the summer holidays.

We had a fantastic day, many thanks. We were relieved to see the elephants looking relaxed and content only the day after losing their matriarch. We had a fabulous close up experience with Emma, one of the young Bornean Orang Utan. We also enjoyed seeing the Andean and Malaysian bears. Our only negatives were that it was very difficult to find food that we wanted (see below), and it was so busy that there were long queues (30 minutes) to see the high profile animals. This was mainly due to Covid venue management, which was very carefully and sensibly thought out and implemented. It felt safe.My wife is vegetarian, I am flexitarian but prefer veggie. We wanted a simple sandwich or similar for lunch, but the only food available was beef burger, hot dog, meat pie, or fish with chips. We found a snack stall doing hot dogs, they listed a veggie hot dog but didnt have any. My wife ended up having an ice cream for lunch, I had a regular hot dog.

Really disappointed! Travelled for 7 days on a narrowboat in order to be here today! The weather was absolutely wonderful. The zoo however was not! Hardly saw any animals, a number of exhibits were closed! No one sticking to the 2 meter guide lines and there seem to be an awful lot of people! Apart from the main maps dotted sporadically around the zoo, we had no idea where we were going. All the usual maps were null and void because of the one way system. The staff just said download the map on to our phones. Have you ever tried using your phone as a map! On the plus side the staff were very helpful! However on the whole I would score todays visit a 2 out of 10.Its been marked low because we saw more wildlife in, on and around the canal on the trip up here!
