This is a hidden gem. The course is one of the best courses in Hampton Roads. The layout is excellent and the conditions are superb. The staff provides outstanding customer service. The PGA pro here can help take strokes off your game with his super teaching techniques. The whole club is a 5 out of 5. Affordable all the way around as well.

First time here today. Great course. Layout get kinda confusing, Got lost a few times, had to check the pictures to figure out which fairway I was supposed to be shooting for, had to use Google Maps to find my way back to the cart path, etc. Near 9th hole is where it gets a bit crowded, gotta be accurate. Great Par 3s, challenging course but fun as all heck. Make sure you look where youre hitting, lots of stuff you cant see right away thatll make you lose your balls. If you find the 8 I lost today, Id like them back...

Played course today as a single. Course was in good shape. Course was busy so I had to wait for players ahead of me which is expected when playing single. I was approached by a Marshal who accused me of playing two balls which I wasnt. This was totally uncalled for, I dont think Ill play there again if that is how their Marshalls treat paying customers, they need to find something better to do with their time. Hard to play after false accusations.

Always a hard course for me. Never get used to the speed of the greens. Cons: Too crowded, fees should go up to reduce traffic.

Amazing course, great staff, perfect course for singles or groups. Not a walkers course and has a lot of water hazards but that makes for a very competitive and challenging course. Highly recommend!

Course was in great shape for the tournament, I had not played there in 2 years, night and day difference will be playing to here again more often, keep up the good work

Great course conditions. Best value of golf in the area.

Don’t expect your tee time to mean anything. We got there on time as a twosome with no one in sight behind us and three “members” rolled up (admitting they didn’t have a tee time). The starter said “Sorry, our policy is to let members jump in whenever they want, you’re gonna have to be pushed back 15 minutes.” We chose to just get a refund and leave. The guys inside said the starter was wrong to allow that, but then still refused to refund us. Not the first time we’ve heard the similar stories of poor customer service.

Really solid course for a great value. Over the past couple months heading into summer, the course has been in green shape. It’s a course that can challenge a low handicap but also forgiving enough where it won’t beat you down.

This course is a gem! Pretty straightforward, few trees, but tricky hazards to avoid. Low fees and not too crowded. The Pro and staff are very friendly and helpful. Thursday evening summer league is fun and a good way to meet local golfers.

Love this golf course! Very fun place to golf. Wide open fairways. Great greens, decently fast little hard but still forgiving. Not any houses to worry about, a great course to go to for beginners. The staff are a great group of guys as well.

Course in great shape, great rates, challenging for any level golfer. We walked 18 holes in less than 4 hours and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Fun but I recommend water and cold towels

They dont allow enough time between large groups.

Course is in the best shape its ever been. The team is firing on all cylinders. Bring your A game, youll need it. Hats off to Battlefield Golf Club. And those new carts they have are NICE and that new car smell...

Probably the best bang for the buck around.I had a lesson from Mike whos the professional there and sometimes you just cant fix stupid but he sure put me on the right track I improved in the area that he instructed me.the course itself its always in pretty good shape and challenging enough for any player

Its super awesome that they let kids sled here. Im sure it tears the grass up a little. I think they should put a donation box out.

Played for the first time today and the course was very nice... Greens were smooth course was in great shape bunkers were nice to hit out of.... Temporary clubhouse has bare necessities and serves its purpose... It is a nice change of pace from the other area courses... Definitely worth a play!!

I really like this course. Im not very good so the more expensive courses are wasted on me. I like the challenge of this course. Its got elevation changes and so many water hazards. If I keep out of the water, I can have a pretty good round (for me). Its a long course so it gives me a workout when I walk it.

Now be warned. This is a par 70 course with quick greens, narrow fairways and an unforgettable back nine. This is a new course which is still under development. The greens need work and the fairways are slick. Clubhouse is comfy, but in 10 years, your going to wish you were a member.

Good price. Greens are in good shape. Wide fairways. Its a long and challenging course for the average golfer. There are no adjacent homes or backyards to hit into. Cart paths need repair. There are many puddles on them when wet. Over all its a good value.

Best course in area right now

Course in great shape. Champion Bermuda greens are as good as any in Tidewater that I have played recently. Great staff, very friendly. Love the course layout. Great value and golf experience. If you have not played it recently, your missing out on a great day of golf.

Had a chance to play this course and thoroughly enjoyed the experience! The greens were great and held shots at the pin,the fairways were full of well groomed grass..Easy going folks, fast play which is a super plus for me! I highly recommend this course for a relaxing day of golf..I traveled 159 miles to play this course and look forward to playing battlefield again.

The corse Is a decent looking corse fun to play. unfortunately it is run like a high end country club out of a single wide trailer. they look at you and judge you if you if your not wearing khakis and have a high end set of clubs. the pace of play was very slow. took me 45 minutes to play 2 holes before I gave up. went back to the clubhouse to get a refund and everyone working there seemed irritated I even asked for a refund and quit. they did not care that the pace of play was so slow and seemed more irritated I was upset that it took 45 minutes for 1 person to play two holes. I will never go back to play there again. oh and I did not receive a refund. they gave me a rain check which was good as cash they said.

I love that this course is close by where I live. Its a great course at a reasonable price.Links style layout open but challenging. Havent played since greens were replaced but they with most courses the weather and maintenance crew have a lot of input factors as to their shape.No fancy clubhouse yet...but I feel that is something I like about it, it doesnt feel too stuffy. It will be a great location for a clubhouse once they do break ground on one.

Came here for the driving range with my daughter. Nice people. Range was in good order with flags and distances. Cheap too. Cant ask for too much more.

Great course for beginners

Battlefield is a work in the making. Big changes are underway to improve the course, including extensive landscaping and the construction of a club house. It will take time but for now players can enjoy less crowded conditions, sweeping vistas from the elevated tees, and the challenge of undulating fairways that require the golfer to think about their shot placement. This links style course is fun and inexpensive to play and the people who work there are always helpful and courteous.

This is a fun course and its also kind of forgiving. Its definitely worth the try and Ill be back.

Having played this course twice now, both times there have been green problems. Overwatered course, oversanded greens, impossible to read the greens as the condition they are in. Ladies, need a bathroom? Prepare for a portapotty experience. Saving grace if you are a rough player the rough and fairway are pretty much the same cut. But the course does get 3 stars for the friendliness of the gentlemen that work at the course and the open course layout. There for sure is potential for this course to be a nice course, just needs a lot of love. Dont forget bugspray and sunblock!

Delivered some grass here from Texas, very nice people, great course

Played the course on 6/17 with friends and this was by far the worst golf course that I have ever played. The greens, fairways and tee boxes were trashed. The sprinklers treating the greens turned on about every 20 minutes causing a wet mess around the greens. After 14 aggravating holes, we gave up on the course. We will never play this track again.

The greens were rough but the open field made sure my hooks didnt hit houses

Like a free for all. I played behind 4 different groups through the first 5 holes and no idea why. No distance markers to go by, and I didnt get to putt out 3 holes due to sprinklers going on the green. Too many other courses in the area to bother ever going back.

Horrible fairway conditions and they had too replace every green on the course which meant we had too play temporary greens. Completely made us skip a hole and didnt let us play another one too make up for it. I only paid 10 bucks thru golf now and I still felt like I was screwed out of a round of golf. Dont waste your time here this year the course wont be finished

Ok but the greens arnt very good

The Battlefield crew has made alot of improvements since last golf season. The fairways and greens are in excellent condition. If your tired of playing the same old flat courses give Battlefield a try. It will be worth every penny!
