This is a really nice section of the Columbia Plateau Trail. It is paved! I once pushed my first grandchild in a stroller along it. Going to Cheney you pass by picturesque Fish Lake and then enter a narrow cut in the basalt they made for the original railroad. I have also seen eagles on this section.
Beautiful lake, surrounding park could use some upkeep
I dont know why they call it fish lake. Only fish in that place is sunfish. Fished it 5 times this year with all different types of bait. Anyone Ive asked... Theyve only caught the same thing. It is a nice place to bring your family for the day and the water is clean. That I will say.
Loved it beautiful area and relaxing and tranquil
Parking lots, and the trail more crowded then I have seen before.
Beautiful little park. Place to fish and BBQ and a playground. Small beach for swimming. Its the place to be summers in Cheney.
Its a nice park but its getting harder and harder to fish from Shore as it is rapidly becoming overgrown with aquatic weeds! I hooked for fish and lost all four of them because the line would get tangled up in the seaweed!
Nice area to swim, the water is pretty warm! Water is not the cleanest so definitely shower after. Bathrooms are gross.
Love it here. RT romantic hiking
Omg so much fun
Bought a dog rug for about 50 buck
The Columbia Plateau trail is great for biking and is very beautiful. It has lots of cool sites and is great for Railfans. It is the former mainline for the Spokane, Portland & Seattle Railway.
Very pretty and nice area. Be care of glass in the water :(
This trailhead is the first of the trailhead still along the Columbia Plateau Trail, and the section of trail between Fish Lake and the Cheney Trailhead is currently the only paved portion of this trail. It seems to be somewhat popular for biking and rollerblading, if you want a more peaceful walk perhaps heading towards Turnbull from the Cheney Trailhead is more your style, as it is crushed gravel and there will be less bikes flying by. All in all this is a nice trail that isnt too far from Cheney and features nice views of a lake, but is less secluded than other portions of the trail. Another important thing to note is that there is signage for a water station several miles from the Fish Lake trailhead, this water station is damaged and unusable, so bring extra water.
Nice
Well maintained, but not a lot of parking stalls.
Gorgeous!
Love it
Kids love this place
Nice short ride
Pretty scenery
Great bike ride, but the water station at the Cheney was broken.
Beautiful and convenient
Fun
