Tons of trails and sights to see. Make sure to go to Snoopers Rock for a awesome view of the TN River Gorge. You will not regret it. Very easy to navigate and you can spend days here riding, hiking, and horseback riding. Plenty of spots to picnic and just enjoy the outdoors.

Church camp group of young children and their parents were screamed at while camping at 9:30pm. They were already in their tents and settled for the night. Unknown man who refused to identify himself cursing and screaming telling them to pack their stuff and get to the top of the trail. Marion Counry dispatch was called and TWRA officer called as well. We were told it was not TWRA out there but could of been a Marion County officer who lives close! If this was you sir! SHAME ON YOU! these were respectable children and parents who were simply taking a church group on a over night camp and hiking trip! There was no need to curse and scream at them like they were criminals. You scared these children and at a time where people already dont trust officers you made it that much worse!!!

Highly recommend Prentice Cooper! Have lifted 03 4Runner w/ a Roof Top Tent and it was a great place to do some offroading and camping! The trials systems range in difficulty from easy to pretty involved, but all were a blast and gorgeous with lots of changing landscapes! The camp sites were very nice and the whole trip was a blast! Highly recommend and definitely worth a visit!

My family love riding the trails at our own pace, picking which trail to go down next, and the beautiful views from the bluff points. This place is so big you can enjoy the day with your family in seclusion for 90% of the time. The other 10% you may see another family go by a few yards down the way or see someone walking their dog down a hiking trail. The kids played in a creek or two and took plenty of pictures to keep our memories.

We did the trail from Suck Creek Road to Mushroom Rock, and it was fantastic. The hike was moderately difficult, with cool rock formations along the way and a gorgeous view overlooking the valley. A word of caution, though: my brother nearly stepped on a rattlesnake near the overlook! I would suggest staying on the trail.

This was quite the park. We had a good look at Suck Creek on the way in and then started our hike from the Cumberland trail head to Snoopers Rock. This hike includes a good look at Lawson Rock and then follows a trail where the Tennessee river comes in and out of view. If youre interested in a short walk and a view of Snoopers Rock you can park at the Snoopers Rock parking area to save you some miles, although the hike was well worth it.

Good place to ride anything you want. Plenty of trails. And it is free of charge. Only closed during certin hunting days. They have a number you can call to see if the trails are open to off road vehicles, so you dont drive out there for nothing. Also a really good place to teach your kids how to drive atv vehicles. Highly recommend this place. They also have a few camp sights and a pavilion. I will definitely be going back.

The kids and I enjoying going, unfortunately majority of the trails were closed off.. Yes they have it posted on the internet about which ones are closed but why choose all of them to shut down at the same time.. Kids were disappointed so you already know how that made me feel.. Open some of the trails so people can enjoy year around!!

This is an nice outdoor area. Visitors should check on line before heading out during deer and turkey seasons, as only hunters are allowed access during those special hunts. It contains several foot traffic-only trails, and an amazing view of the Tennessee River from the Snoopers Rock Overlook. This area also attracts a large number of ATV and off-road motorcycle riders, which kick up a lot of dust when conditions are even a little bit dry, which will require you to wash your vehicle after you leave. Prentice Cooper is one of the best known locations in Tennessee to see Diana Fritillary butterflies, and is the only location in the state where a Northern Cresent butterfly has been seen. It also has several primitive campsites. The pond way out on Pond Rd has a nice assortment of dragonflies to enjoy.

A National Park, it is not, however, with that said, it is a good option for outdoors activities within a very easy driving distance of Chattanooga. My only real complaint is that the signage on trails is often vague, and I have gotten mixed up and ended up on the wrong trail a few times now. I do enjoy a good hike here and Im glad its so close to the city.

Good trail and OHV system. Check the website for hunt dates - More than once Ive planned a camping trip at Davis Pond campsite just to find out I cant get past the Hunters check gate next to the Hunters Check campsite, which is still accessible regardless, though it is apt to fill up.The poison ivy isnt too bad.

We had a blast !! We saw a deer, wild turkeys, drove some beautiful off road paths. Worth the trip, my Subaru Outback did just fine. Only once did I need to stop and evaluate the situation to see if I was outclassed. Thanks to some local razor Riders , we were able to move a rock and find a good enough path for me. Thanks go out to razor Riders, and Subaru. Treating your Subaru like this will definitely shorten its lifespan. But damn I had fun.

Aside from the possibility rude random humans it was the camping experience I was looking for.

Not a good place to camp. We camped at hunters check point. 1) youre not secluded from anyone. Tents and RVs are right beside you.2) theres a shooting range or hunting camp close by so we woke up to gun shots consistently at 6am.3) theres a lot of ATV trails nearby so we also woke up to a lot of fourwheelers at 6am.4) if youre tent camping here be prepared to hear some generators from the campers nearby.Beautiful drive here and good scenery, but if youre looking for something peaceful this is not the place.
